When I played it when I was younger I was in love with it and couldn't get enough, yet the atmosphere was so intense it would sometimes feel like a horror game. Very strange.
I totally agree with you guys. Here's a list of some things I found creepy about The Sims 2: -When I was about 7 I was scared some big monster would appear in the basement and my character had to kill it. -I was recently pulling an all-nighter and playing Sims 2 when I defeated Ava. The robot then started cleaning. He started making that satellite and, like normal, the mole started chewing on it. I got scared when he was saying the hotel was in danger. I think it's just that aliens are roaming around and the only way to be safe is to be locked in the hotel.
All i hear over this song is the sound of cash noises, the phone ringing and the concierge going 'hey hey!' (Plus the tappy noise of interacting with menus)
i played this game for the first time in about 7 years recently. it was so amazing. revisiting my perfect 10 year old life. watching loopy people piss all over my hotel and cleaning it up. putting single dots on paintings and selling them for thousands of simoleons. convincing bigfoot to start walking around in my lobby. making out with everyone so they'd tell me their secrets. making hot jams in the sax lounge.....and so much more. this is a golden game.
Cutu Puss No. I remember it like it was yesterday. I sat in the trees; waiting to ambush those commie fuckers. With my Stoner M63a Commando & Mark 23 Mod.0 in hand, I prepared for the worst. My entire squad was killed; but I was ready.

Its more "sim-ish" than the Sims 4 though, that's for sure. Every since EA got their grubby hands on the entire Sims series (including Simcity) and kicked Will Wright and his team out (when they absorbed Maxis in its entirety), the series has gone downhill from anything sims related. Damn shame really. I gotta get a DS again just for this game.
@@-CrimsoN- That's not even really what happened though, Will Wright wanted to move on to other things, like Spore, then he left. The biggest reason for the changes is because the original Maxis team wasn't working on the series anymore after 2 and worked on the Spore games and then were basically killed by the failure of Simcity 2013
I used to watch my sister play sims 2 on the pc all the time when it first came out (she would never let me play it) and I bought this for my ds thinking it was the same thing. BEST MISTAKE EVER! I used to love this game to bits 😻
The Sims 2 for DS was a surprisingly phenomenal game. It's my favourite game released for the DS and is definitely up there with some of my favourite games. I remember getting this for my birthday and thinking that'd it would be a boring game with a stale plot line. Next thing I knew, I wasted most of my day playing the damn thing. This game gave off an atmosphere and vibe that no other game has given to me. The creepy and mysterious aesthetic to the town kept you thinking and wondering. The characters were developed kept you fascinated as you learned their story and background. Everyone in the game had their own personality. You really felt connected to the community in the virtual town. The management part was very impressive. Being able to take care of the hotel, build rooms, and even do little things like vacuum and restore the power really showed the attention to detail that was put into this game. This was probably the first game to ever make me feel real emotions from a game. When the aliens came down and took over your roof, or when I found them in the desert I actually felt real fear. For a DS game, this was probably one of the best. I'll always miss my man big foot. ;(
Out of all The Sims games, this one takes the cake for the one with the best OST and atmosphere. No other game in the franchise compares to this one in these departments

Yup. I LOVED this game! Heck, I remember last year I felt nostalgic, got a DS emulator for my Mac, and got this game. Oh, the memories! Great game, and great music too!
I know the game takes place in a desert and it was probably intentional, but this song perfectly encapsulates that feeling of being outside on a scorching hot summer day. The composer definitely deserves their flowers

There’s actually a glitch in the saloon in Jeb’s room. If you walk behind the radio thing in the corner you’ll start to slowly fall through the floor into the abyss. Only glitch in this game.
TheDrunkRobot well there’s another glitch, if you bring two aliens from the desert and want to observe one you’ll be unable to use your pockets anymore, game over.

This is such a rad song. I love it so much! The first time I played this game was back in either 2010 or 2011. I was about 9/10, and one of my classmates brought his DS with him on the minibus, and he kindly allowed me to play on it temporarily for the duration of the bus ride to school. The game that was inside the DS was none other than the Sims 2. I didn't play much of it at the time, but I remember hearing this awesome song when I was trying the game out for the first time. It felt amazing, and my first impressions of the game were great. That was over 10 years ago, as well. Man oh man, do the years fly by...

The fact I still somehow have this game, despite having lost many other gameboy and DS games over the years, boggles my mind. This and the Urbz. Wish I still had Bustin’ Out though.
It is incredible how the game managed to live up to the name “strange town” by constantly having this otherworldly vibe to it. I’ve never seen another game manage to pull the feeling off

This game really stood out of the Sims franchise ! I have such a great nostalgia for this game that I recently bought it and funnily, now that I'm in early adulthood, this game still makes me feel very uneasy and somewhat nervous but in the right way. The atmosphere of this game was extremely strange and I have never been able to find it in any other game.

This is the closest to a horror game you will ever get from a Sims game.
Especially horrifying if you played in one DS, then moved to another with a different clock setting.

初めてやったシムシリーズがこれだったなぁ…このBGMといい町の不気味さといいめちゃくちゃにハマったなぁ…😂
It's funny to me how I'm still discovering stuff about this game after playing it for years, that's a sure sign of a great game! :)
The nostalgia is punching me in the gut rn 😩
This game really stood out of the Sims franchise ! I have such a great nostalgia for this game that I recently bought it and funnily, now that I'm in early adulthood, this game still makes me feel very uneasy and somewhat nervous but in the right way. The atmosphere of this game was extremely strange and I have never been able to find it in any other game.
Didn’t even think you could lure Bigfoot to the lobby! I have unfinished business to do
@@gourmettoast1278 Wait how?
I still play this. The Only Sims Game I Have.
I remember playing this and getting to the part were the aliens were roaming around that plaza (I think) and when I got jumpscared it scared me so much I stopped playing, then I got it again and realized it wasn’t even that bad
I remember the music feeling more intense and sinister. Weird
I used to play this game all the time when I got my phone taken away when I was like 13
OMG i loved this game soo much i remember when i encountered the little ghost after i buyed the painting
I remember when I got stuck with the robot invasion
Esaya sameeeee
Lol
Played this when I was young and I adored it so much. I recently ordered it online to play again and I’m so excited to get it!
this sound so special im in love
If EA wasn't greedy AF I really really *REALLY* want this game to get a remake on current Gen (or next gen consoles) Best sims game I've ever played.
Love this game! Also be sure to check out the Sims 2 for PSP and Gameboy Advance they have story to them, there're both in strange town as well.
:') reminds me of the old times on sims walking around cleaning the hotel and picking up guards and filling the furnace
