This is incredible. It's giving Destiny's Child. Please make one where if it was released in 2005. I always thought Positions gave Emancipation of Mimi vibes.
@@flopnumerounothank you for mentioning Brandy. Because it was her and darkchild that catapulted this SOUND. I hate when ppl try to forget that piece of music history. The Boy Is Mine was the beginning of a new wave.
This is so cool! I’m always impressed with people who have the type of musical ear where they can make a sing sound like it was released in another year, give it a new kind of vibe, but still keep the integrity of the song and keep it sounding amazing!
You don't really need a good ear for that tho. You can just google the chords and get the necessary software. Having good relative pitch would make it a lot quicker since it enables you to figure out chords/melody/rhythm upon first listen, but it is by no means necessary.
Oh my gosh the Darkchild-ness of it is spot on! This was that turn of the millennium pop-R&B sound - slick, frenetic, filled with whatever was considered to sound fresh and futuristic at the time.
In my opinion it still is I mean there are a-lot of artists that are bringing this style of music back to life, but it's just that it doesn't sound like how it used to .

bruh this is amazing WTF, this sounds like an aaliyah song now, bro, i get ariana is a r&b and pop artist, she is of both genre's but she needs to make more r&b songs. I prefer R&B ariana 🤣
R&biana released some songs in her first album as well, sweetener kinda, tun and now positions is the most r&b ish album. If the rumors are true, it looks like AG7 would be more a disco pop album
It's because the Roland JV-2080 was used on just about every R&B hit record. Many Producer's used the same sounds from that sound module. So is the Korg Trinity in the 90s.
You got the aesthetic. There’s just way too much going on here because every sound, even her voice, is competing against each other to have been a legit 90s song.
I know this is 90s inspired, but the sort of post-irony of the instrumentals and the almost bubblegum pop sound of it makes this SO 2023. They couldn't have made this back then.
I know it may not be intentional but I get so tired of people saying this sound belongs to Destiny’s Child or TLC. This sound began in 1998 with The Boy Is Mine. Darkchild and Brandy created a sound together that changed the landscape of music.
@@unbothered7090 y’all just be making up shit to fit your own personal preference 🙄 Missy and timbaland sound did not become mainstream until the 2000s. Their sound INSPIRED Darkchild but you have got to be deaf to think this sounds anything like Timbaland or Missy

I also own the Yamaha MOTIF Rack-ES ES, E-MU Proteus 2000, E-MU Mo phatt, Roland Fantom-XR, and Korg Triton, Triton Extreme (software).
@@salalmemdarez oh OK gotcha. I'm pretty sure it either came from some old E-MU or Akai Sample CD library since Timbaland was th first to use that same kick and snare. He had those samples loaded into Ensoniq ASR-10. There are some drums in my Mo Phatt Proteus module that sounds pretty close. What did you use for the Destiny's Child Fancy remake? I know J.R Rotem used a Korg Triton back then as he mentioned he sequenced the beat in Cakewalk Sonar. I remade that track awhile back too as he used the Arco Strings patch on the Triton.
