Agreed with most of the observations in the video. I do think there are a couple of slightly off scenes in their lighting such as a couple shots in the open air and the cafeteria where the characters are a little too desaturated or have odd colour grading but it’s otherwise very good. I would say this is the only episode thus far which can reasonably compete with SAMG. The honey might have been animated by hand in 2D as well which would explain the lower frame rate and lack of lighting. I do think a couple of scenes were timed a little weird or slightly choppy but it’s still impressive, especially with the camera angles and expressions! I do consider the basement lighting to be a little flat compared to what we’ve seen before from Assemblage and SAMG, because it is quite basic but it’s still fine. I would say the lighting in the open air and school environments are perfectly fine. It is day time after all, it should be vibrant and bright which highlights the contrast with the darker environments like Monarch’s lair and the sewers even more, creating quite interesting and dynamic imagery.
