I doubt that any female parent, or any female in general, would fight and protest and be angry and fed up if the schools were teaching their children about feminism and "male privilege." I doubt they would call that "garbage being taught to our children."

What’s troubling is that if some creep in a trench coat offered one of those pornographic books to a kid at a park, you could have him arrested. But a school board has free license to dispense them.
Sad, the real victims in this story are the children. This story is what we know of, how many other schools are doing the same thing. Signatures aren't going stop this a class action suit will.

This is my perspective as a black man who experienced racism his whole life. Critical race theory at most is a solution for adult problems, not children, and so at the very most should be something for teachers to learn about, not children. To he giving this to children is to deprive them of their innocence, placing adult problems and issues on children that do not have the power to or participate in anything of power that could result in racism taking place between them in their childhood. Racism experienced by children does not come from their fellow children who do not have the power to practice it anymore than name calling of all kinds beyond racial words that children innocently inflict on each other, the racism black children experience in its true sense and power comes from adults. There is no need or reason for children to be saddled with this adult problem by having critical race theory taught to them, this is a topic and learning necessary only for adults alone and so in this case concerning schools to teachers alone and is only damaging to children if taught to them, making it not a solution, but something that makes new problems and the problem of racism worse. To teach it to children is an act of selfish gross neglect run by white extreme liberal people disregarding black views as they too often do, thinking they understand better the black experience than black people themselves.

Just because it's on the reading list, does not mean the books are actually used. But i agree with them in that any reading material with sexually explicit or violent details does not belong in classroom, if a child is getting traumatized at home they don't need to have it thrown in their face at school.
I worries me that children and teens do not read nonfiction and the classics.

Teach kids how to learn so that throughout life they will be able to use the skills to be able to evaluate the ideas in the world around them for themselves. What was this? Middle school, high school, or elementary school? If not elementary school, I think all books, no matter what’s inside, should be available to students.
A Virginia mom who endured Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution before immigrating to the U.S. ripped a Virginia school board at a public meeting Tuesday over its stubborn support of the controversial critical race theory.
"I’ve been very alarmed by what’s going on in our schools," Xi Van Fleet told the Loudoun County School Board members. "You are now teaching, training our children to be social justice warriors and to loathe our country and our history."
She likened CRT, which critics deride as a form of "neo-racism," to China’s Cultural Revolution, a Mao-led purge that left between 500,000 and 20 million people dead from 1966 to 1976. The estimates vary greatly and many details have been shrouded in secrecy for decades.
Van Fleet, whose son graduated from Loudoun High School in 2015, shared some of her experience growing up in China’s Sichuan province with Fox News exclusively Wednesday evening.
VIRGINIA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING EXPLODES AS MEMBERS FACE BACKLASH FOR SUSPENSION OF TANNER CROSS
The Cultural Revolution began when she was 6 years old, she said, and immediately pitted students and teachers and against one another by hanging "Big Posters" and hallways and the cafeteria where students could write criticisms against anyone deemed ideological impure.
"One of the teachers was considered bourgeoisie because she liked to wear pretty clothes," Van Fleet said. "So the students attacked her and spit on her. She was covered with spit… and pretty soon it became violence."
Communist squads would raid homes and destroy any relics of China’s past culture, history, governments or religion, she said.
"Everything that was considered ‘old,’ feudalist, a vase, Buddhas, everything was taken out and smashed," she said.
There were thought crimes, too.
"We were asked to report if we hear anything about someone saying anything showing that there's a lack of complete loyalty to Mao," she said. "There were people reporting their parents, and their parents ended up in jail."
At 26 years old, she said, she finally made it out, traveling to the U.S. - where she immediately found freedoms she had never been able to enjoy before.
"I felt like it’s such a free country, meaning I have free access to all sorts of information - books on both sides of the issues," she said.
In the current political and cultural climate in the U.S., however, she said she felt some of that freedom eroding.
"I can’t really just say what I mean, even though the other side can say whatever," she said. "To me, and to a lot of Chinese, it is heartbreaking that we escaped communism and now we experience communism here."
In her speech to the school board, which officials made her shorten to fit the one-minute limit, she drew direct parallels between what she saw back then in China and what she sees in the United States today.
"The Communist regime used the same critical theory to divide people," she said. "The only difference is they used class instead of race."
She said she witnessed students and teachers "turn against each other" during the pogrom and saw schools change their names "to be politically correct."
"We were taught to denounce our heritage, and Red Guards destroyed anything that is not communist…statues, books and anything else," she continued. "We were also encouraged to report on each other, just like the Student Equity Ambassador program and the bias reporting system."

"This is indeed the American version of the Chinese Cultural Revolution," she said. "The critical race theory has its roots in cultural Marxism. It should have no place in our school."
Her speech came 246 years after fellow Virginian Patrick Henry declared "Give me liberty or give me death" during the Second Virginia Convention in Richmond, 125 miles to the south of Loudoun.
"I just want Americans to know that their privilege is to be here living in America, that is just the biggest privilege," Van Fleet said over the phone Wednesday. "I do not think a lot of people understand. They are thinking they are doing the right thing, ‘be against racism’ sounds really good. But they are basically breaking the system that is against racism."
The Loudoun County school board has doubled down on its embrace of left-wing policies, including CRT, in recent months.
Illustrating Van Fleet’s point, a group of Loudoun County parents and teachers were accused of "racketeering" and intimidating conservative parents who raised questions about the radical proposals. Members of the "Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County" allegedly compiled a list of outspoken conservatives in their community in order to track, hack and "doxx" them - or even scare them into self-censorship, according to David Gordon, director of the Virginia Project, a Republican PAC.
Earlier this week, a judge ordered the district to reinstate suspended elementary school phys ed teacher Byron "Tanner" Cross after he was punished for speaking his mind during the public comment portion of a hearing on new transgender policies last month.
Cross declared that he wouldn't "affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it's against my religion. It's lying to a child, it's abuse to a child, and it's sinning against our God."
He was speaking out against a district policy proposal that would require teachers and other school staff to address "gender-expansive or transgender students" with their preferred name, pronouns and gender.

Ian Prior, the father of two students attending Loudoun schools, said Van Fleet’s remarks to the school board "should serve as a stark warning" Wednesday.
"I think for a while now, school systems have really put this stuff in the schools right under our very noses, and we just weren’t aware," he said. "When your kids go to school and you let them go through those doors, you’re trusting the school system to do the job that they’re’ supposed to do…And it took a pandemic and all the information that parents could see with this distance learning to understand exactly what was going on."

I sent an email to my kids school and they ask me to come to the office ,my friend went first and had a huge argument with the headmistress.
I went with my husband, we explained why we dont feel comfortable for them to teach our kids about jigsaw pshe, to iur surprise, the headmistress said they can teach this and is good for young kids to know their body and gender .
She even said there are trans kids in the school who use same toilet as girls in the school,i was very worried and couldn't hide my emotions, i told her my mind but she didnt want to hear,she called me names for expressing my views and concerns over my kids and threatening us she will call the police on us and sacked us from the school
Now weve made a decision to homeschool our kids as we believe, they are not safe in the hands of a headmistress who dont care or see anything wrong with young kids age 3 going learning adult stuffs .

Ummm.... Those books, and critical race theory are two completely different things, and CBS news knows better. If you wanted to cover both topics, do two different stories. Those books seem over the top to me for high school kids. Critical race theory is about pointing out what racism actually is, and looking at it's history. Yes the US history books should report history without bias, and without only being white history, that occasionally allows other people in, if they had an important moment with white people. Every group of people in the US have had a continuous history. Black people were not slaves one day, and then had voting rights the next, and then the civil rights movement of the 1960s a day later. Black people, like white people, like Native American people, have all had a continuous history in the US. Anyone who's attended US school can tell you, we basically learned US history as the history of white people, with occasion guest appearances from one specific person from other ethnicities. We need to talk about the good and the bad as just history. Also time and time again, I'm reminded the majority of people speaking out against critical race "theory", have no clue what it actually is, what the term means, or where the term came from. Once again as an American, all I can do is laugh. This country lol.

CRT is something that should be taught in college to ADULT students. It shouldn't be taught to children. It's suggestive content robs the children of their innocence and they can take it out if context on a fundamental level. CRT was a college course for many years up to this point... Since when was it approved to be taught to impressionable children? Who approved that?
In any case, why are people being arrested for speaking their opinion at a public forum? Freedom of Speech is being denied and walked on and these school board members should facing the consequences of that. CRT aside, the whole curriculum needs to be vetted and altered so that children aren't being taught overly suggestive topics of discussion meant for ADULTS.
