Ok but most of their examples were people with legitimate facial deformities, asymmetries and skeletal malocclusions. This type of work is life-changing for those patients and is a testament to the surgical prowess of these doctors.
At the same time, it makes the Situation for people with assymetries etc worse who can not afford surgery. Best would without any doubt be a society that is Not that superficial and where we do not judge people as much by the way they look. But that is the only scenario where plastic surgery, surgery for the sake of looking "better", is senseful.

I'm Korean. Korean girls in middle and high school are almost obliged to have eye plastic surgery before they reach adulthood. Even give a discount if mom and daughter go together. I do a lot of chin surgery these days.
That’s sad I hope people and society change and accept the way they are natural is always better. My problem with plastic surgery is that youre not solving the problem by fixing your exterior. You have to fix the inside to be truly satisfied. When youre that insecure about how you look, changing your face isnt going to help. You'll just keep finding things that you think are ugly and keep changing your appearance over and over again and you'll never be satisfied with the way you look. Especially since ideal appearances change with time. I know a little bit about Korean culture and I know that plastic surgery is expected there, but I kind of think it is a blemish on the culture just like American capitalism is a blemish on our culture.
'A person with a great personality is the most beautiful, no matter how they look like. ' Speaking as a Korean, honestly, I don't think this should be happening. Beauty shouldn't be affecting every single thing people do. I mean, they are necessary for people who needs to fix their face in order to live properly, but people shouldn't have greediness to become the 'perfect and beautiful' person. I kind of disagree with plastic surgery since I see more and more people looking the same and kind of awkward by plastic surgery... People should be satisfied with how they look like and the society shouldn't determine the class of a person only by their physical aspect. South Korea really needs to change their way of thinking, including me. All that matters is a good and desirable personality no matter how we look like.
okay I'm sorry..But no one should be interviewing a doctor while in surgery even if the doctor said it was okay.. That is so unprofessional and talk about alarming when trying to stay focused.
Britt Whalen For planned procedures, it isn't as much of a worry if you pause to do something else. In emergency rooms, you must be constantly attentive, but in controlled cases like this it's okay to look away to talk for a minute or so. Being an anesthesiologist, I would know.

Amethyst Maries bc your mental health doesn’t improve any. Most people who get plastic surgery, unrelated to health, are hella insecure and think that if they get one procedure, they’ll stop feeling ugly. But then they become addicted to it and later realize that it wasn’t how they looked that made them feel ugly, it was all an internal thing
basically people want to look the same as each other for some stupid reason. thats litterly what it will turn into, why people don’t want identity i will never know.
I know some koreans who didn't undergo plastic surgery that have a good skin even they are already aged...it's because of what they eat,the good climate they have, and i just notice that there is a tea that even a baby use as a water for their milk,i witness that in my nieces who are half korean..that they are already living here in phil.for 8 years but u can still see the good skin they have..
So many judgemental people judging these women for being superficial are the very people who would never date ugly people. Attraction is more important than you think. In the field of psychology, it is called The Halo Effect. But it goes further than that, it is to hopefully find an attractive person that they otherwise probably wouldn't. Nothing wrong with trying to enhance your attraction. Just like make up, it is to give these women more confidence. And sometimes just like losing weight it is about being more attractive.
true like in their country if u r beautiful you have a beautiful/good job,but if u r ugly u have ugly/bad job or don't even book a job nor find a boyfriend or partner in life and no self confidence that's the main reason every young women in korea need plastic surgery.
Ross Dales agreed but i feel like if people change too much that they dont even look like themselves anymore then thats too much in my opinion but to me at least minor surgeries r okay
MOST koreans don't get surgery. 1 in 5 women getting surgery statistic is inflated by non Korean customers. For example, half a million plastic surgery procedures are done on Chinese tourists every year! Besides, even with the super inflated "1 in 5 Korean women getting surgery" statistic, it means AT LEAST 80% of Korean women did NOT have surgery!
Just be yourself. Eat healthy food, don't take drugs or use alcohol, exercise and be happy of who you are! Remember, beauty is in the eye of beholder! Stay fit, get enough sleep, try not to be mad over spilled milk, you will look much younger than your age and feel better!
Lmfao all these "holier than thou" comments are making me throw up. Want to get people to accept themselves and stop with the plastic surgery? Then stop treating attractive people better - Oh wait, I forgot I'm questioning human nature. Oops. Nvm.
Its not about people will judge no matter blah blah blah. Its about the pressure their society is putting on young kids. Its about the beauty standards that they have created. Almost everyone doing plastic surgery to get doll like face like are you fuckin kidding me. They are taught to get plastic S but not how to love themselves under their own skin(some cases are understandable) but almost everyone doing it is so fucked up.
Thats when you are naturally beautiful. What if you arent? People in my country think fake beauty is better than natural ugliness. And everyone is quite approving of this statement 😐 which made me question myself a lot...
You need to lose weight, whiten your yellow teeth, get braces or invisalign, trim your nose hair, do something about that wild hair, and finally fix that body odor that you have.
Lol - if youre in that look - and living a society those who appreciate your outside appearance - then you have to go to surgery, dude - even in the western they also prefer the beauty :)- dont be so hypocrited
mag nhorme I think the person with the incredibly protruded jaw and the lady at 2:57 needed the plastic surgery. But everyone else yeah they need counseling
But that's from your societal point of view. To them, it's not such a big deal. It's like buying clothes that are most flattering to your body, or styling your hair, or getting braces. Do YOU need therapy because you are so vain that you don't just wear potato sacks and accept yourself without vanity?
You are so right! Friend of mine blamed her not enough good look to be treated more serious at work. She had a plastic surgery of her nose, some surgery intervention for her eyes, lips and hair. And now she sits at a psychoanalists corridor every week, telling stories how horrible colleagues she has at work! Her work is based on education, and to be promoted all she needs is go back to the university just to get better degree:)
Hugh Wilson "Don't be dumb." Everyone is already born beautiful in their own way. But if you're insisting that people aren't beautiful already, then I guess you're just an exception to being ugly. :/
Jeon Jungkook I know she's not ugly I never said she was, I'm saying people like her, the patient already thinks she's naturally ugly so she feels insecure in her own natural body as well as many others who go to get surgery
I ship sope and if you disagree fight me, it’s ur body. I don’t really care about looks too much but my nose kinda bothers cuz there’s a slight bump. But I don’t think a nose job is my thing😅 but it’s ur body and u do wat u want with it
I don't see what the problem with plastic surgery is. If you really don't like the way you look and it's affecting your self conscious (like the girl in the video), and you can afford to pay and are sure you want it, then I think its okay. She also seemed content with herself after getting the surgery which is good.
The problem is if you're applying for a job and you're the ugly applicant. Because everyone's qualifications are the same, you would have to do some surgery to get beautiful to be noticed.
I'm completely agree. Peoples should just make sure that it's necessary. I have a lot of Korean friends and one of them wanted to make some surgery to change her face a little bit when she was 18yo. She asked me my opinion and I told her that she looks pretty enough so she could do whatever she feels the best for her but I wouldn't if I were her. She ended up not doing it and at 3Oyo now, she actually think that it's a good thing that she didn't. I think plastic surgery can be a very good thing for peoples who feel very unconfortable with the way they look but it shouldn't be a decision taken lightly especially for teenagers who tend to hate themselves even though they look just fine or sometimes even awesome. And that's the only problem I have with plastic surgery in Korea specifically. It's great for anyone who has a real problem with the way they look and it can change someone's life completely in the good way but it tend to be too common and too much of a business. As a result too many peoples does it, even some pretty good looking persons which is not a problem as long as they don't regret it but it's not always the case and some peoples are traumatised by the way they look afterwards...
I agree with you but at the same time it saddens me that people can't accept themselves for what they are bc of what the society has taught to people, I just wish people would learn to love and accept themselves rather than changing their appearance idk i'm still torn tbh
this is extremely sad and aggravating that the least attractive people are extremely limited Into searching jobs while the most attractive ones have the easier lives, always.
Why do they want to look Euro-Japanese descent so badly? I can understand the severe stuff like the jaw and maybe some moles or something but such drastic changes to your face it's like it's not you anymore and whoever has kids with you, those kids won't genetically look like you. You won't even be able to tell if your baby has your eyes or nose or mannerisms.
I think every human being is beautiful in their very own way and we shouldn't worry about how others see us because the biggest rebellious act in a society that profits from our selfdoubt is loving ourselves properly. Yet, if you had a surgery I'm not judging anyone. It's a decision and when it distresses you so much to the point that you become depressive or something like that, then do it if that would make you happy and confident.
In South Korea, even people get surgery for having pimples, acne, pores or for sunburn or whitening... it's sad but when you get insult for being ugly or ignor than what do you do ... the reality show the result
there's absolutely nothing wrong with plastic surgery. in my opinion, im happy for the people who do get it because you never know how much someone is suffering because of their insecurities. if you have the ability to change something you do not like about yourself, whether it be physically or mentally, i think you should do it.
I disagree with that because God did not give us our lives to be changed the thing is we should learn how accept ourselves the way we are. Because you may change it and then tomorrow you will have another big issue then that.
@@oliversifa6651 Oh come on now, people with severe underbites or no chins like the woman at 2:49 shouldn’t have to live their whole lives not doing anything about it if they can afford it and want to fix it. These surgeons are very skilled and help a lot of people.

That will probably never happen. Thanks to society, we as a species will probably econamically degrade by 2050 or earlier. Because Of SJW's, False Religion nuts, and some idiots.

You can use plastic to fix anything else, but you can't use it to fix an ugly personality haha.
Always someone gotta bring out capitalism is horrible angle.
Thats why every korean girl looks the same 🤔
Yes
Yeah

u realize that this is racist, right? they don`t look the same

True. But he is an expert at it so he knows what he's doing.
Britt Whalen For planned procedures, it isn't as much of a worry if you pause to do something else. In emergency rooms, you must be constantly attentive, but in controlled cases like this it's okay to look away to talk for a minute or so. Being an anesthesiologist, I would know.

She also seemed content with herself after getting the surgery which is good.
Just as long as they don't go too far that it affects their health.
The problem is if you're applying for a job and you're the ugly applicant. Because everyone's qualifications are the same, you would have to do some surgery to get beautiful to be noticed.
I agree 1000000%
My teacher was said that
: BEAUTY IS JUST ILLUSION
I think your teacher wants you to focus on your study...but she forgot to tell that you're already beautiful no matter what you look...
That reporter was handsome though
Is that why k pop stars look all the same?🤦♀️
Diana not all of them take plastic surgery and thats lowkey racist
But they drink or inject themselves something
@William Fink thank you, next
@@lynymII yeah not all them but most of them..that's the beauty standard.
@@lynymII cmon, most of them have taken plastic surgery, at least 95%, and they even act conceited, pathetic ppl
this is extremely sad and aggravating that the least attractive people are extremely limited Into searching jobs while the most attractive ones have the easier lives, always.
That's why we can't really blame them for having cosmetic surgery. After all, it's not only about appearance.
That's why they don't win in Miss Universe.
kenchuvich Morcozo IKR!
Seriously ? Like there's not even a single Miss Universe from Korea ? That's peculiar .
I feel sorry for the future husbands and their future babies XD
Soon in Seul.. Plastic surgery for newborns XD
You really need to go there to experience this plastic surgery madness!
In South Korea, even people get surgery for having pimples, acne, pores or for sunburn or whitening... it's sad but when you get insult for being ugly or ignor than what do you do ... the reality show the result
it will hurt ur eyes to look at them...the light reflects back once falls on their skin
Damn those are some highly intelligent doctors.💯
there's absolutely nothing wrong with plastic surgery. in my opinion, im happy for the people who do get it because you never know how much someone is suffering because of their insecurities. if you have the ability to change something you do not like about yourself, whether it be physically or mentally, i think you should do it.
@@TheMounten1 No I mean do you want to change want Lord God has given you, in example you was born like that then how can you change the way you are in order to be beautiful I’m not that beautiful either but I thank God that he gave me this life, he gave me a life to live every day so I can’t challenge him by changing the creation that he created.
@@oliversifa6651 If you were born with a cancerous tumour would you keep it because you wouldn’t want to challenge the lord and the body he gave you? The people who take care of their physical appearance by eating healthy, staying fit, taking care of your skin and fixing something like an underdeveloped jaw are the ones that value the life that the lord gave them. People who lie in bed eating junk food getting fat and don’t take care of themselves or their appearance are the ones who don’t value the life the lord has given them. Plastic surgery makes the person themself. Of course there are exceptions where people go overboard with plastic surgery but that is an act of gluttony.
@@oliversifa6651 sorry not everyone believes in god
I am a Korean. As you can see in this video, the problem of plastic surgery in Korea is self-evident as seen in the video
I'm suprised noone said this yet: "Leafy should get this"
