We watched it last night Shad. We knew what was coming and cringed all through the video every time you moved forward. You were so lucky it snapped where it did and you could get home. That was intense, but Tyler only has two levels INTENSE or CALM by a river. It was good watching everyone have a go. 💗❤️🇦🇺🦘
Cheers Shad for showing me which tracks not to take when I get up that way. 🤦🏽🤣👍🏼 You have the upgraded rear differential yeah? Suppose, if ya mixing it with them boys ya bound to break something, bloody Patrols… can’t stop them hey !!
Yeah definitely mate, can’t beat a patrol for that sort of terrain , even the 70 series with coil conversion still doesn’t cut it 👍. Thanks for watching
Those GQ Patrols resemble a Jeep Cherokee XJ, shorter, but they seem to fill the same roll the XJ fills here in the US. I first noticed one in a video a guy from the Gold Coast put up of folks going to the beach with their 4x4s and saw one of these, and I couldn't identify it. Now I know what they are. The GQ was not imported to the US, but the Patrol has been imported in more recent years, but it's called the Armada here. Any ways, another great video!
Yeah the GQ patrol is the go to for tough wheeling over here , they are a great vehicle but getting on in age and hard to find a good one. The later model is the Gu , and they are great too 👍
Oh Shad, well it happened when you had the Thompson crew and the best bush mechanic Berto with you so better than being on your own with the boss on a camping trip…. At least you get a new one and ready to do another lot of trips knowing it is all good.
Good change up there mate. Something different. A bit of bad luck from you. But lucky as well you could driver her home safe. Looking forward to the next one 🤙🏻
Great vid, shame about the break, but as we know, shit sometimes happens. Good seeing you guys out together again, im assuming its been a while. Saw you both toghether at the Sydney 4x4 show
boys will be boys 🤷♂️🤣 Great clip mate, looked like you had fun … for a while 😬 they certainly do treat their cars hard mate. Glad it was more major where you couldn’t at least get back home. Keep up the good work bud 👍
They were some unreal tracks Shad. No good you broke your axle mate and hopefully you get it sorted and doesn’t cost you too much. Look forward to the next video to see how you got on 🤙🏻
Great content as usual Shad thanks mate. There was some pretty wild wheeling in this video. Such a bummer about the broken axle especially if it's a custom axle. Looking forward to next weeks video. Cheers Jim
Well, it's about time you broke something. Bet you would be spewing the trip was cut short too, I'd imagine..... Flares just weren't in fashion for Burto that day. Great footage considering how little camera time you got before having to call it a day! 🤠👍
Ya sure Shad that axel mate😳😳 at least ya weren’t days away from home and ya knew the things to do to get home without a truck it home 👍 Bring on next week Mate 👍
Hay dude, shit house outcome for you. The last time I did ranger bob track would have been in my old 76, so that quite some time ago, possibly 2014-15. Tyler & Burto don't mind the harder wheeling, noticed you & old mate Gary didn't wheel quite as hard. Gary was probably a bit out of his depth to, going from Mux to GU, would have felt like he was wheelin a truck in comparison. Repair video will be interesting. Wealie.
Yeah some of those lines the boys were taking was pretty full on , camera just doesn’t do it justice really, garry and i did what we could but im sure as his build progresses he will be into it more. Broken axle is not to bad of an outcome if something had to go wrong i suppose. Cheers mate
Not my style of wheeling that's for sure but I will admit it was good to see some technical driving and seeing it done well, not just full send, spin tyres sort of style. What did you think of the Predator coating on Tyler's GQ? Same stuff I have on my Pajero.
That’s a bugger mate!! Serves you right for going out with blokes that nearly always break something. How long before Tyler’s old man’s nice GU is wrecked??? Look forward to the next vid👍
That showed how much filming and editing that goes into some of these UA-cam channels. Great video and a sneak peak of what’s to come with TT channel 😂 Great video mate. How hard is it to access the lost city? Is it an easy 4x4 track or a bit technical? I’d love to take the wife out that way soon.
Thanks mate, yeah a real lot of work goes into these channels and not sure how some of them manage to do weekly videos. Access to the lost city is real easy atm , if you stick to the main track could pretty much take a camry.
I understand cross-pollination for your UA-cam, but Tyler Thompson seriously? He drives his four-wheel drives as if he stole them! Anyway, hope all is well thank you
Tyler and i been mates for years, i was on some of his earlier videos, it was more of a catch up and mates trip then a collaboration. Thanks for tuning in 🤠👍
Bugger! But as far as driveline breakage goes, yours was a good one. At least you were still able to drive home with it.
Thanks mate , yeah glad i could still drive it 👍
Awesome video mate, great to see some of the action and bush mechanics. Glad you were able to drive out of there mate. Thanks for sharing
Cheers mate

Thanks for watching, yeah something a bit different, was good to watch and film those guys too.
Great video Shad! At least you got to get abit of 4 wheeling in 😊 thanka fpr sharing
Thanks guys 🤠👍👍
Cheers Shad for showing me which tracks not to take when I get up that way. 🤦🏽🤣👍🏼
You have the upgraded rear differential yeah?
Suppose, if ya mixing it with them boys ya bound to break something, bloody Patrols… can’t stop them hey !!
Thanks mate , ive had a good run so I can’t complain. Yeah im good at finding tracks not to go on 😂😂
Nice clip mate, it was good of you to let Tyler and crew tag along with you. Bad luck on the axle though. Cheers Steve
Yeah i thought i was being pretty kind to him 😂😂, thanks mate
This one had it all! Great watch mate
Cheers mate , something different hey
Land Cruiser blokes aye, looking forward to next weeks episode when you upgrade to a Patrol
The big question though, Gu or Gq ??
@shaddonaghue depends how many engines you want to replace right?
@@toddy4x4photography 😂😂
@@toddy4x4photography That's easy, put the 1VD from the 76 into the Patrol, best of both worlds 🤣
@@shaddonaghueboth mint. GU 👍👍
This video for me shows the value of a coil rear! A lot less wheel lifts on those patrols
Yeah definitely mate, can’t beat a patrol for that sort of terrain , even the 70 series with coil conversion still doesn’t cut it 👍. Thanks for watching
Well, you were right. You've finished the build. Now you start with the re-build. Bit like painting the harbour bridge ... 😃
Haha yep that’s exactly right

Good change up there mate. Something different. A bit of bad luck from you. But lucky as well you could driver her home safe. Looking forward to the next one 🤙🏻
Thanks mate , glad you enjoyed it
Was some solid wheeling on this trip mate.
Great vid.
Still laughing all the way so that’s what it’s all about 👌
Yeah mate was a good run hey, thanks for tuning in 👍👍
Burto always on the tools. 👏
Yeah sure is , straight in there 👍
Nice rigs. I was gonna buy a Ford Maverick with a rear chop and tray added, but the owner wanted too much.
Yeah that would have been awesome, thanks for watching.
Great vid, shame about the break, but as we know, shit sometimes happens. Good seeing you guys out together again, im assuming its been a while.

As usual great content great to watch Shad
Thanks mate

Thanks mate , stay tuned for next week.
Awesome vid mate
Good thing you’re close to home hey and had that locker
I was impressed by Garry’s new GU
See you in the next one 👍
Yeah i got a bit lucky there hey. Thanks for tuning in
Ohhhhh Shad what can I say? 😂 least you're all still smiling
Thanks Barb , just gotta smile really 🤷♂️😂😂

Thats all i was thinking, imagine if that happened in the high country, would have been a bit more difficult i reckon.
Thanks for watching
@@shaddonaghue Shad I’m sure ya would have pulled the rear tail shaft off and driven home on the front wheels if ya had to 😳
Great video Dad 👌🏽
Thanks mate , glad you commented 👍👍🤠
Good stuff guys well done.
Thanks mate 👍
Boy are you gonna be in trouble when you get home !!
😂😂😂🤦♂️, only the depth changes

Was that still the original OEM axle?
No , it was a multi drive axle( track corrected 50 mm longer )
Haha you went out with TT and all their patrols, you do know they brake patrol diffs and you still went, nobody’s fault but yours lol.
😂😂😂yep
You weren't even given it shit, pity to cut your fun short, least you could drive home and not on a tow truck
Maybe its all the shit i gave it in the past , just caught up with me 😂😂. Lucky its an easy fix
You shouldn’t have said that you’re finished building the Land Cruiser! Hope it’s not too costly!
Yeah i jinxed myself 😂🫣
