We had a friend here in Edmonton who was kind enough to buy groceries and left at our door steps. Is it allowed to book hotels to finish isolation period as some people do not have relatives to put food or groceries on door, or if there is any maintenance required for the apartment. I think the hotel will be providing room services like breakfast, lunch , dinner.

Legally, approved COPR holders can land in Canada (if approved before or on March 18). It is just that the airspace in India has to open for COPR holders. I hear from some of my friends that they are still waiting for it.
Hi! When you flew through the UK did you get a transit visa, also did you have to collect your bags in the UK for your onward flight to Vancouver? I'm also trying to fly out from the UAE on Etihad so want to know what my options with the transit visa requirements are.
Dear Sneha, As mentioned in the video please make sure you book the connection flight through Etihad itself ( UAE - London - Canada ). In that case, 1. You don't need a transit visa to connect through London. 2. The luggage will be tagged directly to Vancouver and you will not have to collect your bags in London. Hi Royston, All well here. Hope you are doing great. Please send an email to the below email address stating that you have a valid COPR and a stamped visa and that you are set to travel to Canada. Please ask them to confirm via email that you are eligible to book the repatriation flights as the particular airlines is asking for the same. DUBAIConsular@international.gc.ca ABDBIConsular@international.gc.ca For us when they replied with the flight information, they also mentioned that we are part of exemptions who can travel to Canada. With the below link : www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/permanent-residents.html Following this, we contacted the airlines over phone ( Etihad ) and they proceeded with the booking. A tip : If one agent is not helpful, try calling another agent again and again. It happened to us twice. Please make sure to try and get a connection flight booked through Etihad. Once you have the booking, please send an email again to the embassy with your confirmed ticket copy and passport copy and ask them to provide it to the Transport Canada agent to avoid any confusion at the Check-in counter on the day of your travel. On the day of our travel we had to show the check-in agents the below : These confirmation emails, the link above, valid COPR document and the stamped visa on our passports. Hope this helps you. How much did you pay for air tickets?
How much for the isolation place? Heard airbnb shut down. Did you book a sublease for 15-20 days?
Air tickets were about AED 20k for both of us. We booked through Kijiji.ca. Some Airbnbs are still accepting new comers. Please keep checking.

We received provincial nomination from Government of Alberta, mandating us to land in Alberta and we chose Edmonton for now as we have some friends here.

I am currently in Abu dhabi and plan to come to Alberta calgary on a repatriation flight.
I have the same travel documents like yours a valid COPR and permenant residence Visa stamped in my passport.
I wanted some info on how and whom to contact for the repatriation flights and where do i send an email to get an confirmation that i can travel
If you could help me with that it would be really great.
I called the airline and they said that we need to contact embassy and they will add our name on a list ,however i contacted embassy of canada and only recieved an automated mail with flights which i can book and when i call the airline for booking they ask for the confirmation letter
So would be really helpful if you can guide me through this

Hi Royston, All well here. Hope you are doing great.
Please send an email to the below email address stating that you have a valid COPR and a stamped visa and that you are set to travel to Canada. Please ask them to confirm via email that you are eligible to book the repatriation flights as the particular airlines is asking for the same.

For us when they replied with the flight information, they also mentioned that we are part of exemptions who can travel to Canada. With the below link :

Following this, we contacted the airlines over phone ( Etihad ) and they proceeded with the booking. A tip : If one agent is not helpful, try calling another agent again and again. It happened to us twice. Please make sure to try and get a connection flight booked through Etihad.
Once you have the booking, please send an email again to the embassy with your confirmed ticket copy and passport copy and ask them to provide it to the Transport Canada agent to avoid any confusion at the Check-in counter on the day of your travel.
On the day of our travel we had to show the check-in agents the below :
These confirmation emails, the link above, valid COPR document and the stamped visa on our passports.
