The game initially was a pretty bland experience, but I believe the free updates managed to bring it up to its previous installments in terms of quality. The Ultimate Choices’ final difficulty is just as painful as the previous games, and the lower difficulties are a great way to have a fun time with a group of non-gamers who want to beat up some bosses!
This is just about how I think of it as well. I can understand complaints over a game being too easy, but Kirby games always manage to sneak in some super difficult challenges for those who want them, which I really appreciate it, and of course, all of the other content that came with the updates was welcome too.
I definitely wouldn’t call it as soulless as that game, especially considering it got a ton of updates that really appealed to fans thanks to the new characters. It’s moreso just bland when compared to some of the other games in my opinion.
I like Kirby but the game is just another game made by Nintendo not for user enjoyment but for money a easily forgotten part of Nintendo but it might potentially have lasting effects on Kirby, potentially not having a lot more Kirby games made after this
I don’t think that Nintendo is going to stop making Kirby games. Especially after how much love Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been getting, but I do agree that the 2D installments could definitely benefit from having more unique identities.
I actually started to, but didn’t like how the script was turning out. I really enjoyed the game though, so I definitely will take the time to review it in a way I’m happy with in the future!
I admittedly do forget that HAL isn’t owned by Nintendo at times, but they do work very closely with Nintendo, and Nintendo owns the IP, meaning that they very likely have a large say in how the games are developed.

This game seems like the result of Nintendo hitting the make Kirby button on their Keyboard!! In Other-words it’s just soulless like Mario bro’s U.

Hey, do you plan on reviewing Kirby and the Forgotten Land next?
