Total respect to the pensioner and the guard. That was so lovely to see, mutual respect, as it should be. 🇬🇧❤️
❤❤❤
I love traditions, both military and civilian.
They create the illusion of perpetual order.
from one old trooper total respect young man.
The guard is one of the several female soldiers in the Life Guards. Look how small her hands are, that’s the giveaway.
I couldn't tell. Looks like a man. I was waiting for an old person to go near the horse.
That was a lovely tribute.
The horse didnt respond to the siren - RESPECT 😊
I knew an army officer who was in charge of training the horses for the Royal Horse Artillery. He outlined the training regime for the new horses (they do it near Quorn in Leicestershire). When I asked about specialist training for the bangs as the cannons are fired he told me that they learn that on the job! 🤣🤣
Perhaps Mr. Ed is deaf?
Respect to the Chelsea pensioner &the guard.Thank you to both of you.
❤❤❤
He's Ethan Jeffrey, the winner of the Princess Elizabeth Cup. A good and respectful trooper.❤
Wonderful show of respect. One soldier to another ❤
He is my favorite guard ❤
The guard is one of the several female soldiers in the Life Guards. Look how small her hands are, that’s always the giveaway.
@@cliffwheeler7357He is not a female, he has a man's voice when he yells and look how tall he is!
@@cliffwheeler7357 No, this guard is definitely a male.
Para mí ,es un hombre, escuché su voz y no es de una mujer, es muy guapo.
Nice of the trooper to do.
It is not necessary for the person honored to see it. It is only necessary that the honor be rendered. The trooper knows that he could be the pensioner one day and that respect shows.
Shame you didn't catch the pensioner saluting back...
Most tourists are respectful and careful! The world really is a lovely place!
That was subtle show of respect--the best kind, not done for show.
I love that❤❤
Nothing but respect - well done
Such a small thing, but so much respect
That is the salute while carrying a sword.
The salute is normally, as far as I remember, the sword held in front of the face, straight up. I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time, and I doubt it will be the last either...
For an old guy, he moves like a young man.
I didn’t know the let people tough the horses.
Well done trooper
If people want to see or touch a horse go to a horse farm and leave these trained military men and women alone who are on duty and not there for show. I never undersstand this whereas I travel and their is a building, monument, shrine etc.. protected by military personnel. Because of ignorant selfish tourists now guards like these need guards or some barrier because people have lost control and common sense.
Love this. On a different note, is it just me, or does this young man resemble the young Val Kilmer?
Totally, my first thought
Yes he does
No i'm batman
Yes definitely resembles him when he was younger.
That is not a young man. That Life Guard is one of the several females in the Life Guards. You only have to look at her hands to see how small they are compared to the footage of the male Guards.
No deben permitir tocár a los caballos y retratárse lejos de ellos, respeto
Class
Now This Is Total Respect🫡🫡🇬🇧🇬🇧
Respect
Is it the man with the red coat and hat?? I nearly missed it
Yes he is a Chelsea pensioner
American style siren.
Why do so many people think this guard is a female? He is definitely a man, I have heard him yell.
1:26 The guy in the red coat looks to be in uniform and part of the palace staff, why do you call him a pensioner?
because thats what they are called, look up Chelsea Pensioner, they are ex military that live in Royal Hospital Chelsea
'Chelsea pensioners' are military personal who've served more than 20 years or been injured, they can apply to live in the Royal Hospital apartment (they're very nice) normally you'd have to be a multi millionaire to live at this address, that's their uniform.
Okay, I am dense. What does that mean anyway? Isn't the guard carrying his sword while on his mount? Your videos make me so angry and yet I have to laugh at the fact that they let the tourists get away with this nonsense, as if it is a petting zoo. I live in Canada, and on the hill, we have many mounted police guards, and they are not subject to what these guards and horses have to put up with. And, the changing of the guard on the hill is spectacular. Greetings from across the pond.
It’s a salute by the guard to the Chelsea pensioner, another soldier.
The trooper moves his sword from the sloping position tp the upright position. It is the equivalent of saluting the old soldier.
Love the respect shown and it doesnt take much❤❤❤❤
Today some 300 army veterans call the Royal Hospital Chelsea home. The Hospital offers independent living in a sheltered housing environment intended for those who, upon admission, are self-caring and able to live independently with extra support where required but without the need for nursing care.
They get tiny rooms and a uniform, and duty til death. Salute
Soldiers respectively 💂♂️🫡🫡
Silly custom
Weel done Lad.
From a young soldier to a older soldier and vice-versa. Those who have/currently wear the uniform don't have to speak.
Respect
It’s a mark of respect!!
Totally correct and neatly done. Respect.
Lovely gesture
He doesn't carry his sword ,he presents it !
True, he's already carrying his sword. What he did was present a subtle salute with the sword....
@@waltherppx6314 Yes that is the correct term. Present arms. A sentry with sword drawn shows their readiness to deploy it in the event of threat. They do not raise their hand to brow, encumbered as it is by a weapon. The pensioner, coming from within the station guarded obviously posed no threat of ingress but was deemed worthy of salute (sword erect) and it was given. That the pensioner neglected to acknowledge the salute is not the sentry's business.
If it had been the officer of the watch on the other hand the latter would have acknowledged the salute, returned it and, lowering their arm, invited "as you were" to the sentry. Sword returns to shoulder, awaiting orders.
A subtle and significant respectful salute. Thank you. Last ANZAC day that I wore wearing my medals was more than 10 years ago. We were totally ignored. Not that we expected anything else these days here in Oz.
That’s funny I go to the ANZAC services every year here in Australia and the crowds keep getting bigger and bigger with a lot of respect shown. I think you just want something to whinge about
@@davidcat1455 Yes - you are right. I have issues expressing my thoughts. It doesn't matter. I can't recall why I said that. There are too many "issues" in the bellfry mate. Leftovers from the 70's!!
The Pensioner is above ground whereas many of his comrades may not be RIP…and the young Soldier hopes that’s where in 40 years enjoying retirement so the respect for serving and surviving is extended.
Shame some of the public didn't pay the same respect to the pensioner as the guard did,
Such respect for those cheeky pensioners ❤️
Oh,they just get better and better, don't they.
To show such respect to an old comrade and it's such a natural gesture.
Makes me very proud.
I missed it at first, he hoisted his sword in respect to the pensioner... nice!
You always salute a Chelsey Pensioner.
*Chelsea
Props
Small, but meaningful gesture.
First 3 seconds of the video. Yes, please teach your child to touch someone else's animal without permission. Without washing hands. Yuck. I really feel for the horses.
Chief Executive { Dr Woodward }of defence company BAE Systems passes by near end.
Had to look twice, much respect to these fine gentlemen
So many bad mannered people stepping in front of people taking photo 😮
Respect
Nice one.
Horse is thinking,... I have a serious job to do here, what are all these human's doing mucking about!
Fast forward to about 1:25, not much saluting going on there
correction the trooper was female
No this is not a female, I have heard him shout, he is very much a man!
Pity the coppers don't have the same respect blasting their sirens so close to horses
It's London...,if they dont sound off, the traffic stays put!
Try driving there before you pick holes in precedent!
It must've been quick, as I didn't notice any acknowledgements. 🇬🇧💂
1:33 The guard brings his sword forward, off the shoulder, holds it for a second, then goes back to the rest position.
It's how you salute with a sword from that position.
Such a *GORGEOUS* Horsey!!!!! Dammit all, fix the POOR beast's bit already‼🐺👿⚔🐴
There is nothing wrong with the bit. When horses get bored they sometimes entertain themselves by playing with the bit.
The horse equivalent of chewing gum.
In so many of these vids, when the horses begin to be unruly & hard to control, it's always when their bit *HAS* been bothering them. Also, do you have any knowledge of breaking wild horses! I do and, getting a horse to accept having/being comfortable with a bit in it's mouth sure takes some doing. Once the horse is ok with it, this nonsense of so many horses in these vids chewing on/reacting badly to the bit is not out of boredom. Nor is is it the equivalent of horse chewing gum @user-kd2rp6vh4x. Not when it's to *THIS EXTREME*. @@amandabilger2235
