What would you add to your bird photography setup?
A full-frame camera. OM sensors are trash.
Bear Spray! Close encounters happen where I create.
Thanks for this! I love my OM1 but I am still learning so this is really helpful. Went birding the other day and I found out I have a LOT to learn.
glad it was helpful for you, we got more videos coming up soon
You are on the right path. We are all sill learning and being out, in the field with your camera is the best way to progress. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions on the OM-1. I am always happy to help.
@@EmilieT thanks very much. I may take you up on that!
Another wonderful video with great explanations for show-n-tell!!! Emilie is so awesome👍🏻👏🏻 I just subscribed to her channel😀
I’m hoping to add a 300mm prime and teleconverter to my kit this year🤞🏻
thanks for the sub! keep your eyes open for more Emilie videos coming up
Thank you so much Barry. I am glad this series is helpful and thank you for subscribing to my channel too! You are going to love the 300mm. A beautiful lens!
Hello from Montreal Emelie! Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always 👍🤗
glad you're enjoying the series!
My birding/wildlife setup is 2 EM1Xs with 40-150 f2.8 and 300 f4. And since I could not afford the 150-400, I also shoot with Nikon D4s, D500, 500PF, and 300PF. I also shoot film with the Nikon F4 and the 300mm F4D, and for fun the Minolta 7000i and the 80-200 f2. APO. I use the Spider holster system to carry which ever 2 cams on the hips, and at 68 years young, it works pretty good. My primary UA-cam video camera is the EM5mkiii, and the 12mm f2. Cheers!
Thanks for this great video!
thanks for watching!
Wonderful! I'm in the state of Maine up near the White Mountains. I'm hunting for Mountain Lions to photograph. Your larger lightweight l lens with no tripod is what I need. Cats live in tricky terrain and so I need a quick system without bulk.
I'm encouraged to explore of these lens. Thank You!
I would love to get an Om1 but i already have a Nikon D500 . Right now it works get for me.
definitely checking out your 6 L Peak "fanny/sling bag...have shoulder issues & this looks perfect...thank you
Hi Cindy. Definitely recommend it. Paired with the Think Tank belt, it is even more comfortable. It is my go-to bag.
@@EmilieT thank you & where did you get the plastic box for your batteries
@@cindyroper412 If you order new batteries they come in that plastic case. I am not sure if you can get it on its own.
Emilie - thank you for all of your videos. I enjoy your explanations and enthusiasm! I have a gear question: I have the 150-400mm lens on order and am wondering if I should have a camouflage cover (like LensCoat) for it. I noticed that you do not have anything covering your lens. Do you ever find that the white of the lens is a problem when photographing birds, especially smaller birds like warblers? Thanks! Peter
Great series. That looks like Odiorne Pt. I'm from NH seacoast as well.
❤ thank you
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering what you are using between the Naturescapes SKM-II Skimmer Ground Pod II and the camera. Some kind of tripod head?
I'd still love to know the answer, in case Emilie is still following this...
Thanks Emilie, great info. Although I'm using a g9, this was very useful! Planning on adding a pano 100-300 soon! One question - what apps do you use to track birds? btw - B&H rocks - replaced my g9 (a spot on the sensor) immediately, without question, excellent support.
glad you enjoyed the video
Have you tried your long lens after adding a second teleconverter? How is the image quality with 2 teleconverters, tracking, and focusing speed? Thanks for the video. Kind regards
I mostly use the 150-400 without adding a teleconverter. I actually used the 1.4X today and everything worked well. Just know that you are using one stop of light if you use the 1.4X. So it is a calculation to make depending on weather and speed you need.
great video
Thank you Calvin! Nice seeing you here on the B&H channel.
Just a quick question, do you use protective filters on your lenses as I am always afraid of scratching the front elements?
That is a great question! I do on my 150-400. But I also know some of my friends who don't, as the hood does protect the lens quite well.
I have never used any glass filter as I feel that is another layer of glass for the "air" to go thru. Cheers!
👍
If you're looking for an Olympus commercial, this is it, would be nice to cater a bit more broadly
I need money for the 150-400mm PRO lens!
Nothing like having 4 cars on the table lol
