The coming of age in Japan changed legally in Japan from 20 to 18 yo just in 2018. For this celebration, 1,000 kids from 17 to 19 yo from all around the country were recruited. Taka, the singer and leader, dropped from high school, against his parents will, to pursuit his career. Both the parents are stellar singers in Japan (Shin'ichi Mori, and Masako Mori). If you follow what he says in the intro and the lyrics, everything will make more sense to you. Being a grown up professional does not guarantee you success. But the social pressure is such that it is a must to conform to the rules.The song is like a North Star for future generation of young people who want to be themselves. The proof of that, ten years later, are themselves, as a successful and meaningful rock band. By the way, One OK Rock, has its origins in the time they gathered to start practicing. In Japanese, one o'clock, sounds like " wan okurokku". Thence, One OK Rock.
This was not improvised. The kids were chosen to participate and they rehearsed for months before this performance. The performance itself was (probably) one take. The band watched the kids' rehearsal progress in videos but this was the first time they performed together. You should also check out the performance at Ambitions Japan Dome Tour, and also Mighty Long Fall at 35xxxv Japan Tour. Both videos are available on the official ONE OK ROCK UA-cam channel.

Shape it, learn to dance, and that's it. When I hear about rock historic music, I don't know anything. It's just an idol.
