  • In this video, we look at what happens when Silicon Valley's elites decide to build a city of their own city? Venture capitalist Michael Moritz had exactly that vision. Backed by a who's who of tech, including LinkedIn Founder Reid Hoffman, Andreessen Horowitz's Marc Andreessen, Stripe co-founders Patrick and John Collison, and Steve Jobs' widow Laurene Powell Jobs. This isn't just idle talk. We look into this audacious plan that aims to create nothing less than a tech utopia near San Francisco, complete with sustainable resources and a walkable city layout.
But, as you'll see, the road to utopia is fraught with challenges. Mysterious land purchases are causing a stir among local authorities and even led to an Air Force investigation. With so many questions surrounding the project, from legal hurdles like challenging California zoning laws to logistical obstacles, will this dream ever become a reality?
The big buyer was Flannery Associates which has now renamed to California Forever.

I didn't understand why this channel was doing a news article that in no way helps (non-billionaire) people do startups...but this explanation was more efficiently informative than any of the news stories of seen on this yet, so...keep the content coming!

Despite an impressive team and vast land purchases, challenges like zoning laws and infrastructure need to be overcome. How do you think this project will impact the region, and what are your thoughts on its feasibility and potential benefits?

It is really hard to change things in a place like San Francisco. There are just too many things that are they way they are will not change. So yes I think it would be interesting to have a clean slate and build a more modern city. For the people and the environment. Not an easy task though.

The project has been shrouded in mystery, but the group has finally started reaching out to local officials and residents to discuss their plans. Wanna see how this will grow.

If mr Reid Hoffman is involved in such a project it might be not only urban legend. He once proved that when you get openminded people on board and your plan can bring something good for society even huge ideas could be launched.. and of course those smart people needs not only PM’s but true believers with endless stamina.
I wish them all the best because maybe in such cities even electric cars will be outdated :D
Thanks for drawing attention on this ambitious project!
Btw, we found traction with theVinci thru more precise market fitting (like you said in your video) :) We’ll write you in few weeks and ask for some advice when we will earn our first, real € 🤞-> sports clubs
    Thanks for being here!

There is a similar project to build a city like this in Uruguay. Maybe you can look into that as well. Also, could you please share the NY times article?

    Hi Raw Startup
This is not linked to the video but could you give me your opinion on what makes an app stand out. Is it the design, features or even idea itself or are they all complementary ?

    • @RawStartup
      @RawStartup  Рік тому +1

Thanks for me it is all about how well it solves whatever problem I'm trying to solve. Design and other things are important, but they are secondary, can you solve the problem or not, that is the key!

Hello Heini! Nothing to do with this video but I have a question for you. We are building an app which might be a ”blue ocean” type of deal. We got our first NO from our first reach to an invester. He liked the idea and saw that there could be a market but said that it will need so much money on marketing that there is a big change of dilution. Do you have any ideas or videos about this kind of situation? I know this is really minimum amount of information. But I’m glad to give you more if needed. BTW, your channel has helped me a lot so thanks for the content!

Thanks usually what you do there is step by step, first raise some money, show what you can do and increase valuation and raise more money. Then keep that going, don't raise too much too early.

Sorry a bit out of scope for this video and me. For apps and subscription the most common is the App Store and Google Play, but depends on what you're building.
