I'm still waiting for issue 63 (rear left passenger backrest) before I can install the interior floor, and I've not got the front wings yet or the rear light section. So the only thing I really need to dismantle is the dashboard itself. However, this all seems a bit out of my skill-set as a first-time builder, so nice job Will
@ziggythedrummer most of the dash is BP screws, most was assembled in issue 4 and if you just reverse that then it's not to difficult to get to a point where you could install this mod
Chloe's monitors do work actually with the dash. I have them the problem you run into is the lower panel her housing doesn't fit the lower dash upgrade with the ribbon because of the light tunnels Mike has on the PANP lights but if you remove that part of her housing and hot glue the light tunnels in place it works fine except the monitors obviously don't sync with dash. But there isn't a need to switch them out of you don't want to and don't care about the lower ribbon piece being there or you can put it in as I did. But WARNING the ribbon is SUPER FRAGILE and WILL BECOME DAMAGED if you don't handle it extremely carefully!!
@robl56 I love Chloe's mods and the screens were one of the first I did for KITT after having the Flix capacitor for the Delorean but as Mike had sent me the monitors too it was worth the swap out
@WillsWorkshop Well if they were a freebie...and you have them I get why you would to a full switch out...but my comment is more for those who have hers and feel it is needed it isn't unless you want the features that I mentioned....
I’m not sure why they said to leave out the black cover over the circuitboard, but I tested it and you can still use that black cover over the circuit board and it doesn’t interfere with any of the electronics
Probably to allow more room for the additional wiring, making the assembly a bit easier, you dont see that in the finished model so I was happy to get rid of it
Wills workshop. I previously installed this on my kit, but the controller didn’t get fully set up and I don’t know how to reset so that way I can fully activate the controller because button seven does not do anything to work the lights
@Rognvaldthepartworkbuilder if you need to reset the controller, take out the SD card from the alpha circuit, put it in a computer and delete the remote.txt file, pop it back in to KITT and the next time it starts it will go through the remote setup again
