I was always a skeptic about this horse during the 2021 triple crown trail, knowing that he wasn't a true 10F horse. I always thought he was overrated, But as I watched him more this year , he made a believer out of me. At 1 mile, Flightline beats him by 1 length, thats how good LIG is. I think LiG is one of the fastest from 6F to 1 mile in the past 10 years or so.
How can you say that FL only beats LIG by 1 length in the mile? Just because they were close together in the BCC at one mile doesn't mean that FL would only beat LIG by one length in the mile.

If Secretariat had months off between races he would have won every race by 30 lengths. Secretariat raced an average of a little over 1 time a month which is insane!! A year from now, FL and LIG will hardly be mentioned just like Justify. A 1000 years from now, Secretariat will still be talked about as the GOAT.

FL was rested way more the any horse he ran against and he only ran against 1 good horse in the Pacific and some good horses in the BCC. Secretariat ran 3 times within 5 weeks time in the Triple crown. He set race records in each race and was never whipped once! FL ran 3 races in one year and never set a race record even though he could have in the Pacific. Secretariat set a track record and a world record besides the 3 races of the Triple crown. There have been 144 Kentucky Derbys, 147 Preakness, and over 150 Belmont's. There has been over 1000 horses ran in those races and Secretariat holds the records in all three. FL was a great horse for the moment but he only won 4 GR 1 races. FL will be long forgotten a couple years from now and Secretariat will still be talked about 1000 years from now. FL is beautiful and was a really good horse but he doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Secretariat.
I don't think there is any question Life Is Good is going to succeed in his next career! Likely a rematch with this last major foe on the track Flightline and I'm more inclined to think the son of Into Mischief might be the better one at stud. But they both should succeed and the best mares will be split up visiting Win Star and Lane's End for several years.

Justify was 6-0 and won the TC and he isn't even talked about. The same will happen to FL. To bad FL wouldn't have run in the TC. That would have shown if he was great or not.

Tapit does not throw a big ass end on them you got to breed him to a big ass mare!

I'll give his connections credit for running him in the Classic instead of the Mile. He didn't win the Classic but there are times when a loss like that gives you tons of street cred. He gave it his all and I'd put a mare to him before I'd send one to the delicate butterfly that won the race.
Can't be a butterfly to win that race and you're going to have to put him with mares that have staying pedigree for him to have proper grade one type off springs.

I think cause he was good enough off a 9 month break to battle Jackie’s warriors to a nose at a sprint distance. We all know at a mile he the best. No horse even flighline can take him for 6-7 or 8 furlongs. And he is competent enough that he won two grade ones at 9 furlongs. Great horse
