  • Four-time Grade I winner Life Is Good arrived at WinStar Farm the morning after the Breeders' Cup and received a warm welcome from his WinStar and China Horse Club connections. Todd Pletcher also stopped by to send off his pupil, who was known as 'Scooter' around the barn.

    He did go out in style
    They could have just conserved his energy and raced for second place but they put it to Flightline and gave him a race and something interesting for us fans to watch.
    Or they could have just run him in the mile
    It was a very sporting move and the racing fans should appreciate it.

      @@CamaroKidd2022 guessing u dint give him credit he deserves , he was Gutsy in defeat to a monster horse and never was a mile and a quarter horse life is good , but he tried all he could and just couldn’t carry his speed that far, everybody who came from behind just barely got up so there was t much separating 2-5 place, flightline was way ahead anyway, Life is good ran a good speed fig too. His ideal distance is 1 mile. Try finishing a mile and a quarter race and run 6 furlongs in 108 n change, not many will be around at the end either, was his only shot to try n win,

      @Ca…You don’t know much about thorough bred racing or you wouldn’t talk that way about an extremely talented horse . I’ve seen a great horse like Dr. Fager get beat that way going all out at a mile and a quarter being caught in a speed duel with a sprinter known as a RABBIT in those days then not having enough left for the last quarter mile. Life Is Good was a very courageous horse in the Classic and probably could have won the BC dirt mile if he was entered . So horses like Dr.Fager and Life is Good who give everything they have , should be treated like the true Champions they are, with RESPECT.

      @@robertlosasso4222 coulda woulda shoulda. Dr. Fager and Rabbit have nothing to do with the BCC of 2022 so not sure why you are even talking about it. I didn't say I didn't respect LIG, I said 5th place wasn't very good. You are talking the way you are because of your love for horses and not the reality it is. Just admit it, LIG got smoked in that race. The only time finishing in 5th place is any good is in a 26 mile marathon.

    You did good in the Classic LIG. You would've won the sprint or the dirt mile that day but they decided to test you at a distance that was just a furlong or so beyond your optimal distance. I was always a skeptic about this horse during the 2021 triple crown trail, knowing that he wasn't a true 10F horse. I always thought he was overrated, But as I watched him more this year , he made a believer out of me. At 1 mile, Flightline beats him by 1 length, thats how good LIG is. I think LiG is one of the fastest from 6F to 1 mile in the past 10 years or so.

    • @CamaroKidd2022
      @CamaroKidd2022 Рік тому +6

      How can you say that FL only beats LIG by 1 length in the mile? Just because they were close together in the BCC at one mile doesn't mean that FL would only beat LIG by one length in the mile.

      @@robertlosasso4222 all horses deserve to go out in style. Just like FL, LIG only won 4 Gr1 races. That is not that impressive. Kind of off subject, but the fact that people say FL is the GOAT over Secretariat is the biggest farse ever. FL had a great run, but he only raced 3 lousy times a year. If Secretariat had months off between races he would have won every race by 30 lengths. Secretariat raced an average of a little over 1 time a month which is insane!! A year from now, FL and LIG will hardly be mentioned just like Justify. A 1000 years from now, Secretariat will still be talked about as the GOAT.

    • @waynelindafravel
      @waynelindafravel Рік тому +1

      @@CamaroKidd2022 Huh? I agree Secretariat is the best horse ever but no one stated FL was the GOAT. They stated he is the best since Sec.... and he is. He was NEVER challenged. Prat NEVER used the whip and in every race he basically hand-rode him. FL won every race by an average of 10 lengths! "Ifs" and "Could haves" do not count. Sec lost 3 races, FL zero. But Sec's win at the Belmont was the greatest moment is all of sports, in my opinion.

    • @CamaroKidd2022
      @CamaroKidd2022 Рік тому

      @@waynelindafravel apparently you haven't looked at many many comments on many different videos. Many people have said FL is the greatest horse ever! Secretariat ran 21 races in 16 months. FL raced 6 times in 18 months pal! Secretariat raced a little over 1 time per month which is totally insane. FL raced 1 time every 3 months, big deal. FL was rested way more the any horse he ran against and he only ran against 1 good horse in the Pacific and some good horses in the BCC. Secretariat ran 3 times within 5 weeks time in the Triple crown. He set race records in each race and was never whipped once! FL ran 3 races in one year and never set a race record even though he could have in the Pacific. Secretariat set a track record and a world record besides the 3 races of the Triple crown. There have been 144 Kentucky Derbys, 147 Preakness, and over 150 Belmont's. There has been over 1000 horses ran in those races and Secretariat holds the records in all three. FL was a great horse for the moment but he only won 4 GR 1 races. FL will be long forgotten a couple years from now and Secretariat will still be talked about 1000 years from now. FL is beautiful and was a really good horse but he doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Secretariat.

Champion and double champion like Ashado and Rags to Riches and Malathaat etc. competent enough on turf that he won breeders cup turf against the euros with English Channel and both juvenile turf and juvenile filly turf. Also to close he has won 2 Kentucky derbies and 5 Belmont stakes with 5 seconds. Now 3 breeds cup juveniles after Forte smoked non Bafferts Cave rock and National treasure. The silks reminded me of 2019 when Vino Rosso smoked Mckizie in the breeders cup classic. Bob also started 10 years earky and is 15 years older. Plus zero Chad browns or Brad cox or Steve Assmussens for competition in California. Sadler lol. Please . No Kentucky oaks or derbies or belmonts and 2 breeders cup wins.
