Tell Peter he said hi to all 42,000 followers!! 8,000 to go Mikey-to the biggest party on the East Coast 🎉😎🎉
I'm not a HVAC installer but I love watching your videos. You give a lot of good material on how to properly maintain your HVAC equipment and how to troubleshoot problems when things go wrong, plus you guys make the videos entertaining as well.
Another great instructional video by a true AC professional. I never grow tired of watching Mickey Pipes at work!
I chose a 9000 btu Fujitsu single zone system to heat my basement and I have been surprised to see it can satisfy my entire condo with a 77 degree set point on my main 2 ton heat pump system thermostat. Your video is excellent as usual! I am happy to see you selected Fujitsu line of ductless heat pumps!
Even if I never do a DIY of this scale I always find these a great way to understand the scope of a project. This way if I ever find myself in need of these kind of services I have the knowledge to separate truth from fiction.
Love watching u guys work....absolute perfection
I thoroughly enjoy step by steps and tricks coming from you, a lot of your tips and tricks I have seen over time have saved me a lot of headaches as where I live it can sometimes be days or weeks before we can get a tech out on a non-emergency call. So hats off and thank you for your videos!
Peter has been killing it lately. Great leadership mike
Nice work crew. It was actually an older video of yours that you showed me how to hook up a mini split condensate pump and ever since then I’ve had no troubles with them. Sharing is caring especially when the work is tits!!
Love ur content mikey! My flaring tool is a rigid that ratchets . We install mistubishi mini splits, love them. Very efficient, effective, quiet, and most important if need be easy to access the control boards for the outdoor unit(heat pump). Fujitsu boards suck to work on, no room and they are upside down. Love watching you and your team. Let's go bosch!!!
Love watching your crew, especially since I do the same type of work and still come home and watch you. A lot of times if I have a little heavier ductless systems condenser I tip the right side of the bracket on the house up a 1/4” to accommodate the heavier compressor side. Over time they can start to drop down. Keep up the great work
Awesome 👍 job Mikey , Peter and Daniel
A professional, clean and solid install.
GREAT WORK!
I don't like to buy tools that I won't use a lot . I love the auto flaring tool. It saves time and is so easy to use. Great video
Mikey Pipes i love watching your show your definitely funny guy you have a lot humor that’s how you make the job fun and enjoyable being at work !!!!
Love your tutorials. I love your knowledge. Keep them coming
Excellent video! Thank you. Very clean, neat and professional installation.
Nice job Mikey Pipes and Crew 👍🏻👍🏻 comic relief built in was outstanding as always. 👊🏻🤙🏻
Man, I will be honest, im a homeowner with some above average DIY skill😂.. and im looking to install a 5 zone mini split, and to be honest, your videos are giving a lot of confidence.. i was quoted over 21k from multiple places to do the job here in NY, and I just figured I could spend 7 to 8 and give a try... im hoping for the best... im a new subscriber 😊
Good luck!
not sure why but the way you put the camera on your helpers and talk to them from behind it reminds me of adult film movies. lol great video man looks easy enough.
Never knew that about the pipe cutter!! Always wondered why the grooves were there! My elbow is my calibrated torque wrench! Great informative video as always
Keep up the hard work Mike. Great install, love my Bosch shirt. Let's go Bosch
I'm a DIY homeowner. Certainly enjoy these videos. Good seeing tips and tricks since I only installed two units for myself. Also interesting how quickly these can be installed when proficient.
Thank you for taking ladder safety seriously.
Very good job Mike and team for this great tutorial mini split installation system.
Muy bueno.
Hey Mikey pipes, clean install! One tip I can say is there’s tap on tool that you could flip from drilling to screwing making drilling through concrete twice as fast. Also whenever I have trouble getting a good pitch for the drain, Id use a little condensate pump to help do the work. Thank you for feeding the people!
Mike my son and put in a Bosh 27,000 three zone unit he gotten from Lowes memorial Day weekend.
I was impressed with the unit! I’ve been retired since 2013 but I bid and had installed a lot of Fujitsu units in IT rooms and I really like this new Bosch unit.
Love the video and the content awesome how you explain everything step-by-step really appreciate it I do a lot of mini split heat pumps and I use the navac battery flare tool love it , thanks Mikey pipes!!!
I like your content I think you're the real deal.
Looks good and yes I enjoy the installation videos!!
More installs please👍 I like picking up new tips
Fantastic education. Keep up the great work.
Love the mini split installs. Did my own because of channels like this two years ago. I recommend maybe show how you figured out the size units for the house. Discuss the level of insulation and things like that. Saw the spray foam and made me think of that.
Mikey, love the DIY content...thanks for the entertainment as well👍😁
These vidioes help me so much 😊😊 there very entertaining to I can't wait til I can start doing hvac in a year 😊😊😊
Extremely clean install as always art
I recommend the navac digital torque wrench, its great. You can program presets for different sizes and you can quickly torque the flares to proper specs. Great content Mike.
You make it easy to follow and understand your instructions that's pretty dope if you ask me
Pipey Mikes , great job. Always interesting to see your videos
I really enjoy this mini split videos Mikey pipes please keep uploading more mini split install videos I install York and mirage mini splits here in Las Vegas right now I’m busy installing mini splits because it really hot
Love these, I wish I lived in your service area so that I too could have a properly done professional installation..😀
Woooooowooooooow Micky Pipes and Fujitsu ❤. You and the Team are very fast, good Job. I like your automatic Machine, press the Button and finish wunderful. Big hug from germany.
Great job with the amount of electrical connections I see in your videos I almost thought you had licenses in both. I think this was the first time I have seen an electrician at one of your jobs.
Very nice video Mike. If only i had your help !
I've installed probably 100 Fuji's. I like you attention to detail. 👍 You could also T the drain together before the outside penitration to reduce the space required. There's no really worry of over running the drain.
Video looked great to me
Glad to see you using Fujitsu... My favorite systems are Fujitsu/General and Bosch
@@PipeDoctor only the best in the industry
You are a star.
thank you for your videos
Great job Mikey
It is good that you have a performance metric for your installation - that install should be approximately a half day's work for a competent experienced person. It is important to homeowners to get a quality job in a reasonable time which means a reasonable cost.
And, the equipment should be purchased with a reasonable markup to the homeowner.
Yes - Spray Foam has some tremendous upsides - insulation and air seal - and it is a rather challenging material to work around when installing heat pumps. Many knowledgeable folk - like yourself - ought work to educate lay people that the windows and insulation are also parts of the mechanical system in your house.
I like These types of videos.
love it .. If you have not done it, do a truck tour with items and layout
nice job
tehcnic and work wery nice🙂
Solid video bro!
Appreciate it!
Never installed this tip of unit yet I love to install one some day
Awesome! I'd like to see a very detailed tutorial on how you hooked up the lines for the nitrogen pressure test (many leave out this test) using the Sman, and how you operate the valves and knobs on the Sman.
Me again lol I would like to see ductless repairs . When they down .
Another good video mike . I’m a one man show . And I was able to do 3 zone mini split by my self and be done by 2:00 . but now it takes a little longer .
@@PipeDoctor oh yeah . Now older and have a bad knee . Slows me down lol . Now I still do mini split install and only service and repair s in Suffolk county .
Mike two trade secrets on mini splits always use rectroseal insert easy bend insert tubing benders amazing to use. Second always use rectroseal pro fit quick connect socket connectors they do not leak install at outside unit and on wall or floor unit first with a drop of nylog super nice especially up high just mark and insert pipe not flare or torque wrenches.
I like it
LOL - Mikey just mentioned Mr. Cool and then they have an Ad pop up. LOL
Nice video. I install a lot of Mitsubishi and Fujitsu ( in Sweden). If it really has to be top of the bill i’m ordering metal kanal for the line set outside. Try to leave the isolation longer to the outside unit. Don’t cut it to short 😊
Looks 👍 👌
Man Mike I just love this stuff a lot, at the company I work for we do a lot of Lennox and Mitsubishi Mini Split installs so this video helps me a lot even though it isn’t the same brand. I got a question, it has nothing to do with this video but what is a Gremlin if I’m spelling that right? Is it used in Air Conditioning, Heating or both. Also something I’m curious about, why on some of the ductless mini splits do they only have a port on the vapor side for the manifold connection? I’m just a student learning the trade, going to school for it and having an early start on the job. Thanks for another great video it’s really appreciated by me and the rest of the subscribers! Thanks!
Great video Mikey pipes god bless say safe and mr. cool are not good system one of my customers got one big waste of money had nothing but problems with it he had me come out to try to fix it it was just a nightmare he ended up ripping it out and we installed one of our LENNOX mini split systems
Great professional service! By the way how much is cost for installation?
Happy hump day or should I say your Thursday seeing your not working Friday for the rest of the summer
Nice detailed video! Question, I just got my dual Fujitsu Ductless Mini Split AC and Heater installed. Do you have to have both units on for it to blow cold air? I tried cooling down one room and it didn't, but I turned on the other unit, then the air got colder. Model number: AQU18RLXFZ, source 208/230v
I watch most plumbing and mini split installs and repairs. I appreciate your videos and the sharing of your knowledge. I was curious why you ran the line set down the inside wall from one of the indoor units instead of through the wall and down which I'm sure you have a pretty good reason for. I would have looked for a different location for that unit and went through the wall unless it was impossible. You mentioned you should have used three quarter PVC for your drain lines and in reality you should rip out those flex lines and use PVC and should have connected both drain lines in the attic going down to one drain going out of the building. I'm not an HVAC professional but I have some knowledge and experience. I know that on a traditional unit the condensate line needs to have trap water but the mini splits I've worked with don't want any trap water.
You should use end fittings on the slim duct
Thank you Mikey for your informative videos, they are great and professional. Looking forward to each new video and always great to see your technicians helping you and you do a great job traing them, they are really helpful to you. I was a technician during my career, but not in HVACR, I was in industrial production mfg. With Gatorade/PepsiCo, took care of production machines and full plant facilities, air, water, steam, filtration, electrical mains, switchgear, distribution boxes, and I owned and ran a overhead garage door business, industrial, residential, commercial. My door business, I rand it by day, worked Gatorade/PepsiCo by night.....except when my night time job demanded 12 hr overtime. Thanks again for all you do Mikey, I appreciate your hard work, great job my friend....kudos to you and your crew. Terry D.
Keep the premiere is coming Mikey pipes
@@PipeDoctor yes sir
I was curious did you I hear you say that you didn’t have to adjust the charge due to length of the line set that the condenser unit came with just the right amount of refrigerant wow that is the bomb. That rarely happens good work.
Great install. What brand do you use for mini split line sets?
Currently in the hvac field and I was curious as to your method for lifting the condenser or even heavier condensers up onto the wall with 2 people.
Use the Black max torque wrench. It stops you from over torquing. Overtime over torquing or under torquing leaks. Also not any flaring block good for HVAC. As you said yellow jacket or Navac or CPS that have Orbital moving which perfectly for flaring.
Mp you should be very proud of your children ,your crazy(lol) but your children /young men are grounded and should have a good figure what ever job they choose to do ,good parenting mom.lol
Mikey, i learned some good tips for my upcoming 2 head Fujitsu install but did you actually pressure test with nitrogen?
nice job. on that first room a floor mount would have been nice being that they blow up towards the ceiling and down from the bottom. on those rooms with knee walls they look nice. great job though
Well, I feel comfortable with possibly installing my own after watching this. (Don't tell anti-diy HVAC) also, after you made references to Mr cool, here's the ad list from UA-cam at the end of the video:
Ad 1: Tudor Dixon for MI governor
Ad 2: Mr. Cool 4th gen 2 zone mini-split
How come your not using the rls or zoom lock anymore? Nice work!
Mikey Pipes been following your channel since day 1. I'm in Canada. I really wanted a Bosch IDS 2.0 with a coil on my gas furnace..I ended up buying a MR. COOL universal 3 Ton with A-Coil. Will try it out. Interesting when I took it apart alot of the parts are the same as the GREE or FUJITSU. I'm starting to think there all made in China lol.
Reason why I didn't get a Bosch is supply chain in Canada. Every HVAC company will give you a Goodman 16 SEER heat pump. I wanted 20SEER So the Mr Cool offered it
Is this install for ac or are they depending on heat from these as well or just supplemental heat. Either way thank you for the videos. Much appreciated.
According to the manufacturer training I’ve had they recommend nylog or 3-1 oil on the back side of the flare between that and the nut
Thanks for sharing
I have the SPIN flaring and swage kits but planning on getting the Navac NEF6LM probably this week for mini split installations. We're you going to comment on how the 2 brands compare? Are you using primarily the NAVAC setup now? Thanks Mikey
Can you come to bay area to install this unit in my apartment , my hvac cooling system broke 2 month ago, I didn’t want another hvac. This one looks promising .
38:28 the reading at the pump is I'm sure a correct reading. Understanding how tools work is important. I'd be really interested to see side by side reading with another gauge. The key is the reading will be different the pump is running. I wanna see side by side reading with the pump off.
Mike, are you not allowed to run your own circuit to the condenser? Really nice install.
hey Mikey just a thought what i do when assembling the line set covers i use zip ties to hold the snapped in areas and work my way down try it it may help it works for me when i do installs by my self let me know how it works for you if you try it.
Looks great. Not to be critical, but I would put a kick out on the pvc drain so the condensate isn't dripping into the foundation. Like a gutter.
use fork terminals for mini split connections always. only takes a few extra seconds
Does it matter which order you power inside/outside unit? I have a Fujitsu hay on 8 zones, turned power off to clean coils. I have one circuit breaker for outdoor unit, and another for indoor units. Thanks!
Hi do you have any other vrf ac videos from your side like Fujitsu.
Mikey- do you lean toward the units with the base pan heaters (I know all Fuji XLTH have them stock) even when using a quick sling or a wall bracket? I have done a ton of Mitsi’s used for heat in the last few years and no base pan heater with no issues- just curious your company’s take on that one
Mikey!@#$%^pipes great videos. 👍
Great video! Maybe someone here can help me, I'm looking at a similar Fujitsu setup and I found that Fujitsu's installation manual calls for power disconnects with breakers to be installed for each of the indoor units, which I've never heard of anyone doing. I'm having a heck of a time finding any info about that.
PUT THE TOOLS BACK WHERE YOU FOUND THEM... I %100 AGREE WITH YOU, I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT WHEN MY HELP DOES NOT PUT MY S!#@ BACK!!!! LOL
Mike where u get your lineset covers from. Those things are so expensive now. I have a 3 zone daikin emura to install.
Mike. You added additional line-set length to this unit? Correct? Did you add additional 410a? If no, would you kindly comment por que no? Thanks.
