To be fair Anders has gotten a lot of criticism about his live vocals in the past. They used to be very up and down. Haven't seen them live in many years now, though. I think my favorite live performance they've done is probably the very short one they did with Timo Räisänen on Grammisgalan. Amazing energy.
@@hiTocopter I'm guessing it's his cleans they are talking about? Only seen them 3 times live. Last time was about 18 years ago. So I can only judge them by festival videos etc after that. But the times I saw them he had zero issues. Oh yes, the performance where channel 4 decided to screw them over with "Timo Räisänen & In Flames", when it's their song but he contributed 30 seconds of an acoustic intro and outro to the song...
@@Bullybompa Yes and no, it was mostly that he wasn't super dynamic or emotive as he is on the albums. When they were good, they were really good live, though. I didn't mind the acoustic part. Like most IF fans of my (our?) generation, I kind of stopped listening to them after Come Clarity, so Alias was never on my radar.
@@hiTocopter Can honestly say that I have never heard that opinion being voiced before. Not saying it's wrong. Just never heard it. Most ppl that say something negative about IF are 90% of the time just hating. They are either hardcore BM/DM fans that think anything melodic is for pussies, or just following pear pressure. I don't mind it either. It just pisses me off that channel 4 was so clueless or spiteful that they made it seem like In Flames were the featuring act. Yeah. I wasnt a huge fan of Come Clarity, A Sense of Purpose or Sounds of a Playground Fading when they came out. But they've grown on me over the years, that's for sure.
They had a perfect sound up untill 2000 with Clayman. Then they dropped it all because they wanted to experiment (understandable for creative evolution ofc). Forgone album in 2023 have been one of the best comebacks in decades.
In Flames is one of the best concerts I've been too, the vocals, their stage presence, the interactions with the crowd, anders is effortlessly funny when he talks to the crowd. in no particular order Muse, Fair to Midland, Linkin Park, In Flames and KISS are probably my top 5 concerts in terms of overall entertainment. all very different experiences, all spectacular in their own right but the one thing each band knew how to do was to bring the energy and give you your moneys worth and then some
To me, their most overlooked great song. A Sense of Purpose album (which this is from) arguably is not one of the stronger ones in the band's catalog , but this song has always been one of my favorites from them.
The song "The Chosen Pessimist" by In Flames is about the struggles of making difficult choices in life, when one feels stuck between two paths. The singer is speaking from the perspective of someone who has been chosen to be pessimistic and has to come to terms with that. The song is asking questions on how to make the right choice and how to keep balance in the process. The song also emphasizes that although making decisions can be tough, one should not give up hope and try to stay positive. The bridge is a metaphor for how although it may be a struggle, the singer will eventually find a way out of their situation and be able to move forward The band is very underrated. They have some albums and songs I'm not crazy about, but, other than that, they're a band that sort of flies under the radar, since it's metal and metal doesn't get the type of attention it deserves
In Flames is def on my must see live bands. If you like yourneys like this you would enjoy Tesseract war of being. A Masterpiece of prog metal and Dans Voice is incredible
I never thought I'd get a chance to see them live and I was lucky enough to see them at Knotfest in Australia. Definitely met my expectations and exceeded them
To really do In Flames justice, you need to check out their heavier stuff. They are a Melodic Death Metal band, but sort of moved away from that in the middle of their discography. Listen to Meet Your Maker off their most recent album, Foregone, as a sample or jump right into stuff from Jester Race, Colony, Lunar Strain, Whoracle, or Clayman. Not knocking the other stuff, it's just not the In Flames greatness, in my opinion.
Fun fact.. 10 years ago the entire band was made up of Swedish members. Today in 2025 only 2 members of the band are Swedish and the rest are American. Strange times lol
I will see you tomorrow Rachel or Washington tomorrow and she said you're your UA-cam you'll be okay and take care of yourself your friend Mike love you Magic Woman
I highly doubt you are ever going to be into In Flames, Theg are such an awesome band, so influential on so many bands, but sadly the songs being recommended are some of their worst, this track is ok, but far from their better songs, I would give "Zombie Inc" "Jotun" "Goliaths disarm their Davids" "Only for the weak" "Crawl through Knives" or "Meet your maker" off their latest album, keep up the good work 🤘
This is the weirdest and worst gatekeeping i have ever seen. This song is amazing despite whatever genre of metal you like. Jespet helper write this. Listen, chill out and fuck off. Go listen yo Cyhra bruh. Oh wait they broke up and Jasper's alcoholic ass did nt help.
Their older albums are some of the best music I've ever heard. His voice portrays a lot of the emotion that people like me cant express
They are criminally underrated. They don`t even get the respect that they deserve here in Sweden. Especially since they are wonderful live.

Vocals are raw is accurate. Dude famously destroyed his vocal cords from decades of screaming. One of the best bands ever, more reactions pl0x.

Anders is one of a kind and one of the best vocalists out there. love them
One of the most beautiful metal songs there is
Definitely feel the raw emotions in his singing. Another song of em with great lyrics is come clarity.
Whoa that is something insanely beautiful! ... The music is also nice!
One of my favorite bands, and one of my favorite metal vocalists. Anders has such a unique voice, both with his singing and his screaming.
That whole concert is just a masterpiece in itself!

truly amazing
In Flames we trust!
been at 3 concerts with in flames, really good live band!
I always forget how much I love this band. I don’t listen to a lot of metal anymore but god I love hearing their sound
I think the sort of gasping/yelping quality of Anders harsh vocals really add to the emotional intensity.
It's amazing what talented people can grow into. 30+ years, still making new albums👏👏👏
Interesting to hear how theyve evolved...i havent kept up since "sountrack to your escape", but "the quiet place" was a favorite on that album.
Definitely check out some of their stuff from the days when they had long hair. 🤭
He screamed "Scream! Scream! Screaaaaaaaaaaaam!" in Swedish
Love some In Flames
you need to listen to cloud connected live at sticky fingers next
In flames is awesome
Saludos desde república dominicana 🇩🇴🇩🇴
Rachel I have not heard in flame before which is my first I like what I hear I see a potential there for them to go really big
They are 30 years into their career. They are already quite big and any American metal core band in the last 20 years owes their existence to them.
In Flames is def on my must see live bands. If you like yourneys like this you would enjoy Tesseract war of being. A Masterpiece of prog metal and Dans Voice is incredible

The Eagle - Hotel California live 1977
I love you...
I think there is a fan made animation video clip for this song. That's much better
React to envy - ticking time and string

После Металлики, вторая группа с которой началась моя любовь к металлу!!! Они прекрасны всегда!
Similar stuff - Type O Negative.
Old In Flames songs = gold. New In Flames songs (at the latest after Reroute to Remain) = crap. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Far from their best songs for sure, it was a pain to hear tbh...
I like watching you but this is not my kind of music.
