Thank you Heath I have had my reel for over 3 years and was always told that you can't change it to feet but your instructions were very simple! I appreciate it very much Captain Chris Keisler Southern California Oceanside
Hi Captain David, Always great to hear from you. Glad you ran into this. Every forum I run across says the same thing, and it's confusing and makes folks give up trying. So I thought I would make a hands-on demo and show how to do it. Thanks for always being here and supporting the channel, now go enjoy that Tanacom that'll read in feet. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and always being here. I can't thank you enough for your support of the channel, I truly appreciate it. A comment you left me a while back, on a black belly rosefish video, was the catalyst for this episode, along with the vague written/word of mouth guidance from the forums... So I figured why not actually show how to do it. Thanks again for everything. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a boat for watching and leaving some excellent feedback. I believe the process is the exact same thing for the 750. Always great to hear from you and I can't thank you enough for your support of the channel. I truly appreciate it. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and always being here. I truly appreciate it and your long time support for the channel. Yes, I have quite a bit of gear, but, it didn't happen over night. I acquired quite a bit from helping folks out in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Good video. Question: have you ever do trolling with the Tanacom? Since I go out alone many times, I would like to find the way to set al alarm on it for bites. Do you know how to do it? That would be a great video.
Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. Yes I troll with a tanacom sometimes. And yes I can definitely show you how to know when you have a strike because there is no zinging out noise that it makes like a typical real when the fish is running. Thanks for the idea I will definitely put it on my to-do list. Thanks again for your support of the channel I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Couldn't have got this far without your help along the way. Tight lines & take care ;)
I've got a deep drop video that explains how to set the auto stop function for where you want it. Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/u11vyQbTdQY/v-deo.html Haven't done a jigging one yet
Thanks a million for watching and leaving some great feedback. I can't thank you enough and truly appreciate your support for the channel. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Hi Ricky, thanks a boat for watching and always being here to support the channel. Sincerely, can't thank you enough. Yea, the absence of the reel might make it a little tricky. I purchased mine a while back, and I'll be paying that credit card for sometime to come. But it is a great toy to have when you want to change things up. Thanks again for everything. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and leaving some great feedback. I truly appreciate it and your support for the channel. Glad the video helped, it seems to be one of those things, that, unless you see it done, it's confusing. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thank you. You can use any car battery... just make sure you put it in a plastic case to keep splashing water off of it. Never hook it up to your boat battery. On a full charge, the battery should last all day.
Thanks a million for watching and put it in a great request. I am currently working on more content about the tanacom 1000 and how versatile it is. Thanks again for your support I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
I see people doing it all the time. I personally have never tried it. My fear is burning up the gears from the run the wahoo would make. From my understanding, tanacom's don't do well under that kind of stress.
Thanks a million for watching and leaving a great comment. When I first got the reel, I knew you could do the change, but I didn't know how. I read some online forums and they were confusing, because of the 2 beeps verbiage. So, I figured it out, and have finally had the opportunity to film and simplify the process, so everyone can have a visual guide as to how it is done. Thanks again for always being here and supporting the channel. Hopefully this will help you out so you don't have to do the conversion in your head anymore as you are dropping out. Tight lines & take care ;)
Good info Heath! Thanks..... I'm planning on eventually picking one of those up to get started in Deep dropping. Fist bump ma dude for me and regards to the Fam! ~Chuck
Hi Chuck, thanks for watching. I dreamt about getting one for years, and finally broke down and bought it on a credit card. I'll be paying for it for quite a while still. But, it's a great toy to have when you want to switch it up and be able to get out and do stuff that you literally can't do without it. Avi and the girls say "Hi chuck". Hope all is well with you and your family. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and supporting the channel. With the Tanacom 5000, there are so many things you can accomplish. I would enjoy doing an episode on all of it's hidden features. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and leaving some excellent feedback. I truly appreciate it and your support for the channel. Always great to hear from you, I couldn't do this without you. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and always showing up to support the channel. I truly couldn't do this without you. Waiting for the weather to cut me some slack and I'll be getting the crew back out on the water to do some Mahi slaying. Thanks again for everything. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching. Don't feel stupid. I didn't know how to do it until I read about it, and found all the forums' explanations confusing. That's why I made this episode, to simplify the process. Thanks again for your support of the channel. Tight lines & take care ;)
So when in Meters, it shows the m next to the numbers, but seems when in Feet, it does not show any indicator right, or was I not able to see it on the camera?
Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. No you weren't missing anything. When the digital display is in meters it does have an m next to the number. When you have it set for feet there is nothing next to it it just shows the number. Thanks for asking glad I could clarify that for you. The instructions Iowa provides are really vague that's why I made this little helpful video. Glad you found it useful. Thanks again for your support of the channel I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and giving me a good laugh. While I would love if daiwa would contact me to be able to represent them in a simple and down to earth manner, not quite sure it's on their horizons yet. That's why I made this video for one of the most common questions I hear about this reel. There are also still a few other simple functions that the real does that are commonly asked about and I'm going to be getting to those when I go out a little deeper on our Florida keys adventures. Thanks again for your supportive channel I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and sharing... That's a bummer, hopefully it's nothing major and can be simply fixed. Thanks again for your support of the channel, I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and leaving a painfully true comment. I purchased mine with a credit card and will be paying it off for quite sometime. But, it is worth every penny. Can't thank you enough for continually supporting the channel, I truly appreciate it. If you ever have any suggestions on a topic you would like to know more about. Please let me know and I'll try my best to accommodate you. Thanks again. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thank you for the easy instructions. It was bugging me for years!
Thank you Heath

Great video Capt, with clear instructions. I've definitely seen this question before on the forums.. Thanks for sharing.

Great video and channel! Can you please tell us what rod that reel is sitting on?
The rod is a Daiwa Tanacom Dendoh - model TND66HF - DD.... it's a 6'6" bent butt rod.
You are loaded with gear...!!! Great video 🎥🎥🎥 thanks for sharing

Thanks any chance on video stopping line at 6 ft or jigging mode. Best video short to the point.

Have you tried high speed trolling wahoo with this reel? Would you recommend it?
I see people doing it all the time. I personally have never tried it. My fear is burning up the gears from the run the wahoo would make. From my understanding, tanacom's don't do well under that kind of stress.
Dang. I have had this reel for a few years. I did not know this was possible 🤣

Capt. Heath, do you know how to change the digital display to feet on the Banax taigen 1000. Its comes preset to meters 😢
Unfortunately no, I've never dealt with that reel
Gostaria muito de ter uma dessa.
obrigado por assistir. É um grande carretel de pesca. Eu agradeço seu apoio.
Does it stay in feet or do you have to change it every time you use it?
It will stay in feet mode
