Thank you so much! Love this vase, and the orchid, it seems some orchids are hardier than others, and often places that sell orchids have classes easy medium hard to grow. I feel usually the No ID's are easier to grow.k Love Carolyn
Mark is the way to go! I have one that has been flowering 6 months. Just amazing what good care will do. Rewards of lots of flowers. Thanks To our dear Carolyn. ❤
What a beautiful orchid. It sure is a looker. Your repot was nicely done and appreciated. Little Maggie loves her family routine and that’s so 🐶cute. Your looking so lovely and i enjoy your time and friendship you give to us all. What a wonderful world it would be if all were nice. 😊🏡🙋♀️ you all take care. 🙏🏻🌳
Yes it seems healthy and hope for the best. Yes Marie Magie is so used to routine, she does not like change. Thanks for comment , Yes it would be wonderful, Need a Large Revival 😀 Love Carolyn
The chicken coop supposed to arrive tomorrow, Friday 13th LOL first one only one of 2 boxes arrived, apparently one got damaged before it got here. Fingers crossed, as there has been some issues Love Carolyn
Very interesting video with our plants and everything else that you do with it very interesting I found and you did cover many things. Thanks for that. We’ll catch you soon very beautiful orchid.
Oh, what a beauty you found, Carolyn - I’m thrilled for you. I haven’t bought a new orchid in a really long time, either. I would have snatched that one up in a heartbeat,, too! I am so excited to see the new additions to the family - cluck - cluck! That will be exciting. I wonder what Maggie will think!? Please do a video the day they arrive!.. Thanks for several minutes of love and fun with you and all the good tips!
Thanks Mary Anne We are excited about the chickens and I think Maggie was ok We had a baby bird on the lawn the other day and I told her no and she just watched, bird stayed a long time than finally flew onto the shed roof. We bought a small coop on line , not too expensive and a run to attach to it so they can get on the lawn, our lawn not fertilized so should be good for them. Watching lots of You tube backyard chicken growers. Have plans to hopefully stop them for not bothering neighbours. If any complaints than we may not be able to keep them. time will tell, and have been told lots others doing it. Glad to have you visit and comment Love ❤️ Carolyn
My dear Carolyn You look very beautiful. Your orchid is gorgeous, what a colour and long stem, I love it ❤❤❤ Your orchids seem to love the glass vase, I think I shall try to repot some of mine too. Take care my friend Love, Elpida
Thanks Elpida, So far they seem to be handling the change, with the holes it is comparable to a regular orchid pot, except roots get light. Love Carolyn
oh wow. didn't know about twisting the plant as it's inserted into the container...another great idea. i only have 7 orchids but i look for the color of the flower because i want them all to be different. many thanks. btw, you're looking fabulous.
So nice of you I am glad to have this normal cool weather makes you feel more energetic. I think this orchid is doing very well so far, and it has a good start, being healthy to begin with Love Carolyn
Carolyn -- you're amazing and the BEST! Following your steps enabled me to grow and flower my orchids annually. Now that I'm in SW Florida, I keep them on my covered lanai year round -- unless we have an occasional cold evening. Though I made an oopsie and 2 of them were too close to the hot sun and unfortunately lost 3 leaves due to burn. I learned and they're moved to a much better location. They are HAPPY! But I will be getting some of the CaliMagic that you recommended. I plan on switching to the higher-Phosphorus around Halloween.
So Happy to get your comment ☺️ You have figured out what is good for your home and your area! Always little things to notice and change, Life Always Changing and the Weather Love Carolyn
Yes even though no rain here, nights cooling quickly and will soon be bringing orchids back inside. We are excited about chickens, luckily Maggie not a bird dog, and shows little interest , even with big Ravens and Crows on the Lawn. She does not chase cats either, but little mice or rats she will chase and wine when she can not catch them Love Carolyn
God Bless You Jacolyn! I just found your UA-cam channel and I love you so much for sharing this amazing 😻 story of answering questions from A-Z! I am very new to orchids and I am now learning that everything I’ve been doing up to this point is all wrong 😑 lol! I am definitely gonna like 👍 and subscribe to your channel for sure! Thanks so very much from the bottom of my heart, love Ginger
Thank you so much!! Glad to have you join our group of orchid lovers. First one thing I do not often mention, when I started this channel years ago I used 1/2 my name and 1/2 my Husband 'Jack' So my name is Carolyn so Jacolyn was the name, and is a little confusing. LOL He helps out with many things, so the reason . Any questions you may ask anytime. Love Carolyn
@@jacolynsorchids1361948friends awww 🥰 thank you for letting me know that Carolyn, It’s really funny to me, because I thought to myself how simplicit the spelling of Jacolyn was and it sounded so sweet 🥹 and now it’s all sensible to me! lol 😂 that’s awesome and please tell your husband Jack how much I appreciate it, love Ginger
Hi Carolyn. Wow ,what a beautiful Orchid. I have seen this Orchid on the Roehampton website ❤ It looks very healthy. We were getting very cool weather this last weekend ( 4° last night). Getting another hot spell coming. My orchids are loving it. 😊
Thanks Carolyn another fun video. I'm having great success with corks, I put them in with 2 of my big phals, when I reported them this summer. Lots of new roots. 👍 I can only get medium bark but it's actually quite small, & I have high humidity most of the year. Autumn has definitely arrived here in the UK, so I'm anxious as there's a risk of the orchids being wet too long. Winter is ok as the heating is on. Lovely new Phal, I could find an excuse to buy it too 😬. The crystal is beautiful I'm tempted to have a go. My hubby can blame you when he's drilling holes in glass 🤣. Thanks again.
Glad to hear about great success with corks. It is cooling here, no heat yet. Ocean a long way from here, the lake helps with some humidity but not a lot. Sure you can blame me, and When they have all been a year, will be easier to compare. Love Carolyn
I use New Zealand extra large bark for my large Phals. But I have found that the last two times I have ordered it they are no longer extra large . It’s more like large so not sure why. So glad to see you🥰
I repotted a mini phal that came in a tiny moss pot into a bigger pot with orchid mix. I feel the orchid doesn’t love the bigger pot, some of the flowers faded although it had very healthy roots and I didn’t need to cut anything. 😭 Now I’m scared to repot my other mini phal it has so many beautiful blooms on 3 stems, but the pot is tiny and cramped with moss.
Orchid Mix (could you tell me what is in this mix) Many growers say small pots are good, I will not disagree with that but will say I have a lot of large pots for No ID Phals. My minis are not in overlarge pots (most anyway) Maybe best to wait and keep your eye on the first one, check pot before watering to make sure it is ready to be watered, as bigger pots hold more moisture, that is what helps me here in very dry weather, and dry winters because of cold winters and furnace on. Patience is important and tme will tell you what you need most for your conditions. Love Carolyn
@@jacolynsorchids1361948friends Hi Carolyn. Much love to you too ❤The medium is charcoal, sponge rock/perlite, orchid Pine bark mix, Coconut husk coir chips. I bought 3 mini orchids from a vendor (not cheap) and the blooms seem fragile, loosing flowers soon after arrival, whereas the cheap normal size phalaenopsis I got from Walmart and never repotted has kept its blooms for over 3 months now and still looks great. Should I try moss for the minis?
That orchid is gorgeous!! I’ve never seen one like it. Really stunning. Sure it will do wonderfully under your care. Keep us posted and enjoy!❤
Thank you, I will keep updates, hope for the best, Keeping it inside for now weather cooling, but still very dry. Love Carolyn
