Is there a way to reset when your doing the flowey boss ? I am stuck in phase 2 and i am 2 petals down but i cant dodge and ive been stuck there for about 3 days and i want to reset but i cant pls help
oh i have been WAITING to get to this track this might just be undertale yellow's crowning achievement, imo. in the main game, flowey is the last "monster" we fight at the end of all 3 routes; we fight omega flowey in neutral, asriel in pacifist, and kill flowey at the end of genocide. and yet, this fight manages to stand out from those other 3 for one simple reason: this is a flowey battle without hope. a fight that depicts flowey as the abomination that he truly is- a godlike being with control over reality, whom a regular human like clover, with no special access to determination, can never hope to beat. yes, the omega flowey fight in the main game has shades of this (and is still my favorite fight in the game), but imo, that fight is more about finding the resolve to stand against impossible odds, to challenge a god that has torn apart the universe just to torment you. here? it doesn't matter how much resolve you have. you've already lost. the bizarre battle text and unorthodox attacks drive home one thing: you are at flowey's complete mercy, and there is nothing you can do about it. it's an element to his character we never truly got to explore in the main game- what does flowey look like from the perspective of someone other than frisk? someone who isn't an anomaly, a veritable singularity of determination? this is the flowey that terrorized the underground for years, who "won every game, lost every game, read every book and burned every book". this isn't omega flowey, a monster who successfully became god, whose arrogance and overconfidence led to his end. this is flowey in his purest form. and he is wonderful.
Very well said! If there is one reason why I wish Yellow was canon (even though it is in my heart), is because the way Flowey's relationship with Clover was explored. He has no emotional attachment to Clover, he doesn't get reminded of Chara when he sees him the same way he does with Frisk. He is merely his plaything, and worst of all is he robbed the poor kid of every single possible timeline where he could've ended up living happily, with either Toriel or Martlet. And funnily enough, the only reason he even lets Clover go in the true pacifist ending, is perhaps because his sacrifice reminded him of Chara for a moment. Both gave up their lives for a cause they believed in, while Chara did it out of spite for humanity as part of their plan, Clover did it for both monsterkind and for humanity, so that the "future children" wouldn't be given up to Asgore while he'd get to live. (as Martlet said) And the cherry on top, is that Undertale Yellow gives us an interesting perspective on Flowey's timeline manipulations and resets, and his ever growing frustrations, he really DID do everything. He did use Clover from the beginning, but at least still had some patience left, the same cannot be said where in Undertale he goes in straight for the kill when he meets Frisk. After struggling so much to get Clover to Asgore, he just gave up on the prospect to help any other human to get what he needs. That, and maybe from Undertale Yellow to Undertale, something changed in his plan that'd render needing Frisk alive useless.
I agree it's amazing to see Flowey from this perspective, but I'd like to point out the 6 humans could save and very likely had more determination than Flowey. The idea that Flowey could have more determination than a human is already very dubious as he's made using determination extracted from human souls, which was split up among the many monsters Alphys injected. But we also have Asgore's dialogue where if you talk to him after getting killed, Frisk will tell Asgore he's killed them [x] many times before. Asgore isn't surprised by this at all, he just nods sadly. If you choose your cinnamon/butterscotch preference and then reload, Toriel will remark that when humans fall down here, she often feels like she knows them already. There's also the omega flowey fight, where flowey literally uses the 6 humans' save files.
so many of flowey's attacks involve his own suffering. he kills images of himself, tears off his own petals, cries... feels very representative of self-loathing he hides behind his cruel and sadistic facade.
@@purplybnuuy My theory is that's all Flowey's memories of his _many, many_ suicides after he first found out he can SAVE and LOAD. If I remember right, he mentioned in UT he did try to take his own life after finding out that neither Toriel or Asgore could help restore his emotions. Or, alternatively, it's his many, many attempts at Sans. ;)
@@DisbinguishedYT Well yes, but it's like with the first Froggit encounter where Toriel scares them off if you don't choose to flee, like in original Undertale, so this thing doesn't really count.
It's so funny how Flowey was planning to betray us all along. The entire Pacifist route, we were walking towards certain doom, and in the end, Flowey's plan only failed because of distractions. Because our friends unknowingly kept us away from Flowey's manipulation. Symbolically, it's as if our friends "wouldn't let us" reach our dark place. It's scary, but also kinda wholesome. Basically, all these people might have been a distraction from our real mission, but in the end, sitting back, listening to their problems and caring about them is what saved us. It benefited us too.
Ok yeah but how did it benefit US? (Spoilers ) WE WERE THE ONEs THAT DIED. Like Genocide benefits us because we actually completed our mission and got back to the surface. The pacifist ending is more like a justice ending, our soul trait justice ,purified. The only difference being that we didnt got justice for the five humans but for the monster who got imprisoned in the underground for eternity. While Genocide route is justice or better say REVENGE for the five humans that got killed.
@@lkw3329 Clover escaped the horrible fate Flowey had planned for him and in the end, gave up his SOUL willingly. Canonically, Clover has to die, and a self-sacrifice like that is the most dignified way to tackle that. Clover left truly satisfied, on his own terms, and everyone else is happy too. In the Genocide ending, Clover clearly "wins", but at what cost? Everyone is dead, the kids are no more alive than they were before, and Clover's mind is corrupted by violence. The point is that Clover's mission was ultimately pointless. The impact he had in the Underground (in any ending) mattered a lot more.
@@Zoukos23 But Clover explicitly DOESN'T escape that fate in Pacifist at all. The game tries to frame itself as if it could precede Undertale, and even in True Pacifist (where you don't kill the final boss and Clover gives up their soul willingly) it reinforces that Clover still gets absorbed in Frisk's own Neutral route and is only returned to consciousness by us calling for help in that fight. The only potential positive the ending has compared to Flowey's plan is that Clover *might* just not be conscious in SOUL form and doesn't remember being used to murder another human a bunch, but in the end whether that's any better is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the Genocide ending not because it the better result, but because it's the only one where our choices *mattered*. In every other route, regardless of who lives or who dies, Clover will die at the end and either get roped into Photoshop Flowey or faced with a reset knocking them back to the beginning until they do get roped. It comes at a horrific cost in lives, finishing off Chujin's family and legacy and subjecting a bunch of people to horrific deaths who don't deserve it. But it lets us defy fate itself and carve out an ending where we achieve what Clover set out to do. It's the only ending where Clover avoids becoming part of Flowey, the only one where they get to make it home (plus, with all the gold they have at the end of all that they could probably afford therapy). A phyrric victory, but at least it's a victory compared to every other path.
"Clover would like to cry but they have no eyes." "Clover would like to struggle, but they have no limbs." "Clover would like to plead, but they have no voice."
with the fact that this fight takes place in flowey's mind, it's my new headcanon that asriel is just a really big fan of breakcore and this is the type of music that always plays in his head
that reminds me i actually love how asriel's vivid imagination (rainbow themed attacks, stars) also carry over to flowey (literally the entire fight) dude was cooking even while soulless
this is easily one of the best 'regular flowey' fights i've ever seen Keep in mind; Flowey isn't using ANY soul power here. All of the attacks present are visual representations of Flowey's thoughts (his self-loathing, his torment, every time he's died) mixed alongside his frantic and maniacal attempts at guilt-tripping Clover with the bosses you've faced. The only way he's able to utilize all these attacks is because Clover and Flowey are now one being, with Flowey simply holding Clover's soul and subjecting them to the horrors of his fractured mind. The battle dialogue box is what truly gets me here, showing how even Clover is either being affected or succumbing to the insanity present within Flowey after being absorbed. Pieces of dialogue repeated from various other fights alongside the haunting line of "Clover wants to cry, but they have no eyes." indicates that this child is being pushed to the brink of their very mind at the "hands" of the maniacal flower. I like to dub the fight as 'Inner-Flowey' for this reason, and I can only imagine that all the other human souls likely faced a similar fight to Clover's when they were absorbed into Omega Flowey at the end of Undertale's Neutral Route, and only with Frisks's help and determination they are freed and rebel against Flowey. god damn this fight is brilliant, i can see why this game took 7 years
The fact that they actually created and brought back Omega Flowey but making it actually even more terrifying, goes to show of how we discovered why development took so long the animation on Flowey was absolutely insane.
the development was worth the wait, cause from what i've seen (im tryna avoid too much spoilering cause i wanna play it myself) its ON-PAR with toby fox himself, which is super fucking impressive
Kinda weird they worked so hard on a boss most people aren't going to do. Neutral route just doesn't make sense to me. Why would I kill only 1 monster if I'm trying to do pacifist, and vice versa for genocide.
the line "clover wants to cry, but they have no eyes" is _haunting,_ man. like, playing this is horrifying, sure, but imagine being a _child_ experiencing this firsthand. imagine seeing all of this right in front of you, not through a screen. and clover keeps fighting, too. i love them. poor baby.
Definitely one of the best "Flowey" fights ever. The fight is a total mindfuck and the fact that you cant even attack him or heal is amazing. Absolutely loved the mechanics with the Undyne-ish chase and "Flowey" using the attacks of the bosses you've killed. 10/10 fight, would play again.
My blind neutral run, I went out of my way to try and kill every major boss after I completed pacifist and genocide but man did I NOT EXPECT THE ATTACKS TO BE USED AGAINST ME
I love that, consistent with the Omega Flowey fight, Flowey just does NOT give a shit about the battle UI. The ‘check’ is so basic that it’s practically mocking you. Fighting doesn’t even work. Items don’t matter. The ‘start of turn’ dialogue is just unintelligible strings of text with no meaning, a few of them implying Flowey is basically copy/pasting text there. Heck, he even removes the battle box for a lot of his attacks, something that’s pretty rare and almost exclusively reserved for Deltarune’s secret bosses. And of course, the deeper you go into Flowey, the more elements of the UI just bleed away until it’s his turn forever.
@@emerald6597 You'd have to look at Deltarune for any more examples, Jevil w/ his Final Chaos and Spamton NEO with his big robot do the same thing, but not as eerily as Flowey does it, of course.
God, they COOKED with this fight, and this route. It's shocking how even though this final boss breaks all the goddamn rules, it's STILL much more fair than most of the genocide route fights.
@@Devious_One7 Honest to god, why does Ceroba have another crazy fight, she already has a crazy fight in pacifist, wouldn't it have been cool if Ceroba was instantly killed in genocide and you had to fight the whole Feisty Five instead?
The lines in this fight are so genius. The obvious one ‘Clover would like to cry but they have no eyes’ is so unsettling but I’ve seen ‘Clover is giving fighting a try’ is overlooked since some early game enemies say they’re giving fighting a try which suggests that flowery regards you a mere early game enemy
@@sir.op3429 this one feels eerier to me personally because if I remember correctly, that line only appears against Insomnitot when it's at low health
@@lunderf2891 In vanilla genocide he says that he tried to be nicer previously, and it feels like UTY is happening right at that time, that's why it actually believable
I hope that there's someone out there who looked up "Your Best Friend Undertale Yellow" looking for Flowey's regular theme but found this by accident and is wondering what the fuck is going on.
When I finished pacifist, i was completely satisfied, but part of me felt like the game was strangely lacking in Flowey. This gave me all the Flowey content I would ever want or need
I always thought Omega Flowey from the original Undertale was SICK, but it didn't really have much of a real boss fight behind it. Now, THIS... this is what I'm TALKING ABOUT
This battle plays out like Ariel's fight in the pacifist route: - Unable to FIGHT - When you die, you only go a few turns back - The only way to progress is to survive I mean, it makes sense since they're the same monster.
hate to be that guy but flowey isn't really a monster (and by extension, when he absorbs all the souls even if he looks like and pretty much just is asriel, he still isn't a monster anymore)
If you only do the pacifist route, you could honestly believe Flowey isn’t that evil in this game. Although, you really shouldn’t. It’s Flowey. He was going to betray us eventually…
Honestly, throughout my first (and neutral route) i partially wanted to believe that maybe flowey at this previous point wasnt as evil as he was in Undertale and maybe actually wanted to help. Guess i was played for a fool just as much as clover lmao.
WALUIGI AND LUIGI ARE HERE?? Anyways, the only reason Flowey fights is that he was probably mad we didn’t continue the plan. Crap, I should play the game today.
I love this fight mainly for the fact we get to see flowey in his prime. when there was no one to overpower his determination, there’s no LIMIT to what he can do. That and the fact that clovers literally trapped in this flowers fucked up mind.
@@Queorz Pacifist is basically what he's looking for in the first place. He admits that while he didn't get exactly what he wanted, since Asgore is just one soul away from the full seven now he can just wait until another human falls into the underground to complete the set and become a god.
honestly i feel like that the same way in reg undertale too pacifist: he wins by getting back his former form neutral: if hes spared then he gets to live but if hes killed he still wins cuz you would follow the rules "its kill or be killed" to do so genocide: he dies after giving up the plan to kill everyone
the absolute terror and helplessness of this fight is astounding. watching flowey use variations of his own tormented face to torture your mind, push you to the edge of insanity, is amazing. even the song feels like you're struggling as hard as you can to not fall within the inky abyss of floweys mind any further
Considering this entire fight takes place in Flowey's mind, I'm just imagining him on the rooftop of UG Apartments with Clover's body, just staring off into space and tripping balls. Don't do Justice, kids.
Fun fact: This is the only boss (not counting Martlet in Snowden, who just gets a harder version of her fight in Vengance) that changes based on your choices. Major and Minor bosses (excluding Micro and Macro Froggit) that are killed in a neutral run/aborted Vengance will be added as extra attacks in the boss.
I thought the Flowey battle in Deltatraveler was amazing, but this kicked it off the field in such a majestic way. Say what you want about UTY, but you can't deny they did this little demon justice.
i love flowey's fight so much man. im not sure if many people know this but you can actually gain hp by picking certain acts, an obvious one being 'Endure'. If you don't know, endure (at least from my playthrough) was essential to beating ceroba. there are the other two, hope and persist, but instead of gaining speed or defense those just do the same thing as endure. though it's by percentage rather than a random amount of hp since you have 100 lol. its not only just great foreshadowing for her fight and how essential those acts are, imo, but also just. so interesting if you played pacifist first. like you'd recognize those acts and would immediately think 'oh hey i need to pick those they're good ones' so either way they're pretty interesting... also the past boss attacks you get depending on which ones you killed, as if flowey is trying to guilt trip you. they all look so creepy, and i did a whole neutral route killing all of the bosses, just to see the spritework. i can see why it took so long to create, just the neutral route has so much detail and care into it. not to mention the neutral route of going full pacifist and killing axis, which i haven't done yet and would find interesting since ceroba is there with you. that might be the next neutral route i try ngl
Fun Fact: Zenith in Genocide was also supposed to have Endure, but it was removed at one point. It was also added quite a while after the first ACT was, so they made the fight without it, went back and added it, then decided to remove it again
Unfortunately for me, i already knew that neutral final boss is flowey. But i did not know that... They managed to make Flowey scary again. Its was very smart of devs to use glitches (twitching images and returning to the main battle screen if you do anything except check, hope or spare), terrifying phrases (clover wants to cry but they have no eyes), and a lot of different... subcultures of horror and ways to scare. Uncanny valley, backrooms, and different "...core"s combined made this battle even more uncanny. The self-hurting themes, perveted memories of Flowey, meeting Martlet that melts straight after it and running through the places... that you did visit, but they have different layout. It is definitely feels like a being in the nightmare when you dont know you awaken or not. It was hell of a task to make a flowey scary when everyone are not scared by just breaking the 4th wall. and oh god, they did this perfectly.
same happened to me but i expected that at the end of pacifist he would come and turn into meta, not that i had to do the pacifist route apart from neutral.
i like how flowey remembers how many times you do neutral route. "here we are again." he really gets annoyed saying and doing the same things over and over
i never would have done this route if i didnt search up why flowey was so nice in this game and the top result said "you must not have tried neutral" because i had no idea neutral was its own route and im so glad i searched that up
i think what makes this fight so great is that they werent afraid to turn this into a straight up horror game for a section. i mean sure Omega Flowey is overwhelming, but here, Flowey rips himself apart, attacks you with corpses, and is implied to have gouged out the eyes of a child. that just would not fly in a normal game without getting an m rating, but since this is a fangame they were allowed to just go all out
The "clover would like to cry but they have no eyes" line doesn't mean flowey actually tore out Clover's eyes because it's just a reference to Axis saying he can't cry because he has no eyes. (Also Clover is canonically dead in this fight so they don't really have eyes anymore)
This fight is litteraly "Unstoppable force meets immovable object", Flowey knows damm well he could technically kill Clover anytime he wants, but no matter how many times he tries, he'll have to start again because of the player's determination (the litteral one, not the lore-related one) to keep going.
Having Flowey's battle theme in this game be Breakcore, as he constantly breaks off the game and the battle mechanics is such a stroke of genius. This has to be a top 3 track for me, just because of how well it fits. This song perfectly describes the despair Clover feels struggling against an enemy who consideres him a mere toy to torture, the cello at the end being freakishly beautiful, the one glimmer of hope being distorted by the glitches of Flowey's save file tampering
@@ecstaticwooper368 Very well said! The cello at the end really screams "hopeless" to me, like Clover realizing how little he had to say in his fate all this time.
my very first playthrough was neutral. got to this boss on LV 10, and let me tell you it hit me hard when Flowey started attacking me as mangled versions of the monsters that i already killed. i'm sorry Decibat :-(
i also wanted to kill Decibat and kill just the bosses but i only ended up being level 5 and just killing Axis and got level 7... and then the mf of flowey uses Axis against me in the fight... i wasn't surprised but i was curious how the other bosses would look like...
The line "clover wants to cry but they have no eyes" in the fight is just downright terrifying, forget all of floweys disturbing appearances, that line made me have to take a little break. Just peak physiological horror
If you think about it, Flowey and AM do have a few things in common. Though I'm willing to bet that if he could, Flowey would very much envy AM's ability to feel absolute HATE.
@@cgimichaelmyers2806Because He's a god in undertale yellow, he has the ability to reset as he pleases. In Canon undertale he's powerless, he can't reset, all he can do is hope you reset after you had your "fun". Which is VERY IRONIC
@wisp3591 my headcanon is that flowey couldve saved over frisks file in undertale if frisk hadnt learned to do it first, but in undertale yellow he convinces clover from the get go that he controls saving and so clover never bothers to try
@@circumplex9552 During Undertale's genocide route, Flowey explicitly states in his New Home monologue that he couldn't load his save file after their first encounter because Frisk's Determination overpowered his, somewhat implying he lost that ability immediately after their fall into the Underground. So one simple explanation would be that Clover simply has less Determination than Flowey. Then again, doing the true pacifist route without ever saving changes the dialogue between Asriel's phases to "SAVING over ASRIEL's file seems like the only way to defeat him... But, having never SAVED before, you lack the power to do it." and that goes in line with what you said, so maybe you are onto something here after all. Either way, it's a pretty cool idea!
its funny, as unnerving and obvs terrifying this would be to the player (clover), you gotta feel bad for flowey too at this point. it's clear flowey's fed up w u, but i think this whole fight n such represents more of his internal struggles rather than simply just him being tired of clover's shenanigans. if anything, clover was just the last straw. flowey has already lived and died numerous times up to this point, growing increasingly more bitter at the world and himself, he's just starting to grow tired of it. of the whole thing. so when someone comes and decides to be less of a pushover and instead an annoyance and an actual roadblock, it severely messes with him and starts to really take a toll on him mentally. all the trauma starts to resurface and he gets increasingly frustrated with you, constantly reliving the failures of his past and his inability to truly, actually have control on his life. once chara came and went, the control he once had in his life, albeit short, was ripped from him and was never truly given back to him. he yearns for it, controlling your save points isnt enough. he just wants everyone, including himself, to be gone once and for all. clover incessantly toys with the idea of who has control in this world, and of course that affects and absolutely drives him nuts. it's like it's a game (hehe) to him. the guy has simply had enough and just wants everything to burn, and will not hesitate to put the one who reminded him of how powerless he was (is), in the ground as well. there is no point of self-preservation left anymore. he just wants himself and everyone, especially you, to go. forever.
The entire battle takes place within Flowey’s mind, he’s utilizing all the pain and suffering he endured as attacks, that’s why the majority of the attacks are Flowey’s petals getting ripped out, or him crying.
This fight blew me away when I first played it, and it still kind of does to this day. Yes, it's absolutely horrifying, but it's also rather creative with some of the attack patterns and the segments after the main part of each phase. The whole thing is just a fever dream, even if it does invoke fear. A LOT of fear.
I really love the bit at 0:48 . It's heroic, and it's there to remind you that there is still hope, and that even though things seem bleak, you still can keep fighting.
With flowey being my favorite character even before playing Undertale Yellow, this put tears and my eyes and gooses in my bumps, this is my fav track I love it
I think I found a very cool parallel between this Flowey fight and the Sans fight in og Undertale. In UT Sans's goal is not to kill you but to be as annoying as possible and as his final move he decides to stall the fight indefinetely until you're so bored you decide to reset the geno run. Meta Flowey is sort of the opposite of that, you're so determined to survive (even if only as a soul) that you manage to make Flowey bored of the outcome and eventually reset the game.
Sounds like a great theme song for a hopeless fight in the rotting, suffering mind of a child who was killed and transformed into an emotionless flower with the ability to rewind time. ... Geez, I love Undertale lore. Also, the "Clover would like to cry but they have no eyes", is a fucking banger of a line in this fight.
I never thought anything would make me feel the same way I felt after seeing Omega Flowey for the first time again but here we are. Omega Flowey is one of my favourite boss fights in any game and the fact that this was able to stand beside it is amazing to me
Remember, this boss theme and basically any Flowey related Song with that motif all stems from the Spongbob FUN Song of all things, That knowledge is hilarious, *Wonderful* even. =)

A FELLOW GENGAR ENTHUSASIST!!
oh i have been WAITING to get to this track
this might just be undertale yellow's crowning achievement, imo. in the main game, flowey is the last "monster" we fight at the end of all 3 routes; we fight omega flowey in neutral, asriel in pacifist, and kill flowey at the end of genocide. and yet, this fight manages to stand out from those other 3 for one simple reason: this is a flowey battle without hope. a fight that depicts flowey as the abomination that he truly is- a godlike being with control over reality, whom a regular human like clover, with no special access to determination, can never hope to beat.
yes, the omega flowey fight in the main game has shades of this (and is still my favorite fight in the game), but imo, that fight is more about finding the resolve to stand against impossible odds, to challenge a god that has torn apart the universe just to torment you.
here?
it doesn't matter how much resolve you have. you've already lost. the bizarre battle text and unorthodox attacks drive home one thing: you are at flowey's complete mercy, and there is nothing you can do about it.
it's an element to his character we never truly got to explore in the main game- what does flowey look like from the perspective of someone other than frisk? someone who isn't an anomaly, a veritable singularity of determination? this is the flowey that terrorized the underground for years, who "won every game, lost every game, read every book and burned every book". this isn't omega flowey, a monster who successfully became god, whose arrogance and overconfidence led to his end.
this is flowey in his purest form. and he is wonderful.
(as Martlet said)
And the cherry on top, is that Undertale Yellow gives us an interesting perspective on Flowey's timeline manipulations and resets, and his ever growing frustrations, he really DID do everything.
@@IamDoru1 absolutely, also great point about clover's sacrifice reminding flowey of chara, I hadn't considered that

"Now, remember what i taught you! Dodge the bullets!" - moments before disaster.

@@DisbinguishedYT Well yes, but it's like with the first Froggit encounter where Toriel scares them off if you don't choose to flee, like in original Undertale, so this thing doesn't really count.
To someone as powerful as Flowey, Clover IS just a basic enemy.
It benefited us too.
it made me look at entire Undertale Yellow's pacifist route from a completely different side
True👍🏻
Ok yeah but how did it benefit US? (Spoilers )
WE WERE THE ONEs THAT DIED.
A phyrric victory, but at least it's a victory compared to every other path.

with the fact that this fight takes place in flowey's mind, it's my new headcanon that asriel is just a really big fan of breakcore and this is the type of music that always plays in his head

Considering he got Godlike powers and IMMEDIATELY declared himself “The God of Hyperdeath”
Yeah, Asriel was definitely one of “those” kids.
this is easily one of the best 'regular flowey' fights i've ever seen
Keep in mind; Flowey isn't using ANY soul power here.
I like to dub the fight as 'Inner-Flowey' for this reason, and I can only imagine that all the other human souls likely faced a similar fight to Clover's when they were absorbed into Omega Flowey at the end of Undertale's Neutral Route, and only with Frisks's help and determination they are freed and rebel against Flowey.
god damn this fight is brilliant, i can see why this game took 7 years

i love flowey's fight so much man. im not sure if many people know this but you can actually gain hp by picking certain acts, an obvious one being 'Endure'. If you don't know, endure (at least from my playthrough) was essential to beating ceroba. there are the other two, hope and persist, but instead of gaining speed or defense those just do the same thing as endure. though it's by percentage rather than a random amount of hp since you have 100 lol.
its not only just great foreshadowing for her fight and how essential those acts are, imo, but also just. so interesting if you played pacifist first. like you'd recognize those acts and would immediately think 'oh hey i need to pick those they're good ones' so either way they're pretty interesting... also the past boss attacks you get depending on which ones you killed, as if flowey is trying to guilt trip you. they all look so creepy, and i did a whole neutral route killing all of the bosses, just to see the spritework. i can see why it took so long to create, just the neutral route has so much detail and care into it. not to mention the neutral route of going full pacifist and killing axis, which i haven't done yet and would find interesting since ceroba is there with you. that might be the next neutral route i try ngl

i think what makes this fight so great is that they werent afraid to turn this into a straight up horror game for a section. i mean sure Omega Flowey is overwhelming, but here, Flowey rips himself apart, attacks you with corpses, and is implied to have gouged out the eyes of a child. that just would not fly in a normal game without getting an m rating, but since this is a fangame they were allowed to just go all out
The "clover would like to cry but they have no eyes" line doesn't mean flowey actually tore out Clover's eyes because it's just a reference to Axis saying he can't cry because he has no eyes. (Also Clover is canonically dead in this fight so they don't really have eyes anymore)

I love how much the Hollow Knight-sounding instrument in the cello part adds to the tone just feeling dreary, hopeless, and unwinnable.
@@ecstaticwooper368 Very well said! The cello at the end really screams "hopeless" to me, like Clover realizing how little he had to say in his fate all this time.
my very first playthrough was neutral. got to this boss on LV 10, and let me tell you it hit me hard when Flowey started attacking me as mangled versions of the monsters that i already killed. i'm sorry Decibat :-(
Killing Decibat is a crime punishable by DEATH
i also wanted to kill Decibat and kill just the bosses but i only ended up being level 5 and just killing Axis and got level 7...
and then the mf of flowey uses Axis against me in the fight...
i wasn't surprised but i was curious how the other bosses would look like...
@@mikel._.418EL BAILADOR IS FUCKING NIGHTMARE FUEL
@@unfunnyname6231 oh fuck... Now i want to see it
@@unfunnyname6231 ok, I've seen all the bosses, and you are fucking right, el bailador is pure nightmare fuel
The line "clover wants to cry but they have no eyes" in the fight is just downright terrifying, forget all of floweys disturbing appearances, that line made me have to take a little break. Just peak physiological horror
"I have no mouth and I must scream" -Clover during this fight, probably
"i have no eyes and i must cry"
you cant escape this one single line of dialogue that everyone brings up
If you think about it, Flowey and AM do have a few things in common.
Though I'm willing to bet that if he could, Flowey would very much envy AM's ability to feel absolute HATE.
I truly believe this ending did Flowey better than Undertale itself did.
Yeah, Flowey was kind of a bitch in Undertale’s neutral and genocide routes lol.
@@cgimichaelmyers2806Because He's a god in undertale yellow, he has the ability to reset as he pleases. In Canon undertale he's powerless, he can't reset, all he can do is hope you reset after you had your "fun". Which is VERY IRONIC
@wisp3591 my headcanon is that flowey couldve saved over frisks file in undertale if frisk hadnt learned to do it first, but in undertale yellow he convinces clover from the get go that he controls saving and so clover never bothers to try
because flowey canonically can save, its just that in undertale his power got overwritten by frisks
Either way, it's a pretty cool idea!
its funny, as unnerving and obvs terrifying this would be to the player (clover), you gotta feel bad for flowey too at this point.
it's clear flowey's fed up w u, but i think this whole fight n such represents more of his internal struggles rather than simply just him being tired of clover's shenanigans. if anything, clover was just the last straw. flowey has already lived and died numerous times up to this point, growing increasingly more bitter at the world and himself, he's just starting to grow tired of it. of the whole thing. so when someone comes and decides to be less of a pushover and instead an annoyance and an actual roadblock, it severely messes with him and starts to really take a toll on him mentally. all the trauma starts to resurface and he gets increasingly frustrated with you, constantly reliving the failures of his past and his inability to truly, actually have control on his life. once chara came and went, the control he once had in his life, albeit short, was ripped from him and was never truly given back to him. he yearns for it, controlling your save points isnt enough. he just wants everyone, including himself, to be gone once and for all. clover incessantly toys with the idea of who has control in this world, and of course that affects and absolutely drives him nuts. it's like it's a game (hehe) to him.
the guy has simply had enough and just wants everything to burn, and will not hesitate to put the one who reminded him of how powerless he was (is), in the ground as well. there is no point of self-preservation left anymore. he just wants himself and everyone, especially you, to go. forever.
So the fewer souls he consumes the more unsettling he looks.
The entire battle takes place within Flowey’s mind, he’s utilizing all the pain and suffering he endured as attacks, that’s why the majority of the attacks are Flowey’s petals getting ripped out, or him crying.

1:34 gives off a "RUN AWAY!" feeling, i love It!
IIRC, that part of the theme only plays when you literally have the "RUN AWAY" sections so it's fitting!
It's heroic, and it's there to remind you that there is still hope, and that even though things seem bleak, you still can keep fighting.
and then it breaks down, with "you idiot" playing in the back. He's completely mocking you here, you never had any hope to begin with.
With flowey being my favorite character even before playing Undertale Yellow, this put tears and my eyes and gooses in my bumps, this is my fav track I love it
Imagine at the end of the game it says, “No flowers were harmed in the making of this game.”
The battle: Actual suicide references
Flowey the ENTIRE battle: :D
This is how you make a BreakCore song, not it just being the original song with drums playing in the background on loop
I loved the intensity during the running sections !
Neutral ending is my favorite, and this track might be my favorite from it
niok onshoet??

The start of this fight is so good, the way it just starts to glitch out before completely breaking
"No, Flowey, I'm not gonna peep the horror. That'd be stupi-"

This song paired with the insanity that is phase 1 is so damn godlike. This may be the first time a neutral route is better than geno or pacifist
"remember what i taught you, dodge the bullets"
*turns the game into a psychological horror*
I never thought anything would make me feel the same way I felt after seeing Omega Flowey for the first time again but here we are.
Omega Flowey is one of my favourite boss fights in any game and the fact that this was able to stand beside it is amazing to me
You lot cooked during this fight.
Psychological trauma and horror moment.
I really love the strings at the end here. Really adds that sense of tragedy for the floral prince, and the fate of Clover.
Remember, this boss theme and basically any Flowey related Song with that motif all stems from the Spongbob FUN Song of all things,
That knowledge is hilarious,
*Wonderful* even. =)
Wait, it's really based on the FUN song?! I always thought they sounded similar, but I just thought it was a coincidence.

Pretty sure Toby has said such himself, he talks about his inspiration for many aspects of his series freaquently, and how he has borrowed many ideas and details from things he likes,
Had interviews with the creators of the Song MEGALOMANIA from LIVEALIVE as well, lol, big deal considering LIVEALIVE and Brandish's music were the two halves to create Haloween Hack MEGALOVANIA.
Forget what his exact words for the FUN song and YOUR BEST FRIEND are, but yeah, he based it off it heavily and changed up his homewokr a lil.
i've always been a sucker for Flowey themes, so getting this BANGER (along with AFTERLIFE) is an amazing early christmas gift
Also, the actual fight this goes with felt so fitting for flowey, loading(?) his save every time you tried to do anything but spare or check and the visuals with this playing in the background really makes you feel hopeless during the fight, which of course, is what flowey is trying to do
10/10 game 10/10 fight 10/10 song
A horror gift on chrismas!
This makes me think of a fight where not just Clover, but all 7 humans team up to defeat flowey, following Frisk's lead. Everyone has their own unique ACT option.
*Prepare
*Pump Up
*Inspire
*Encourage
*Cook
*Intimidate
*Reflect
"Prepare" is the patience soul's, otherwise known as Emily.
*Emily tells the others to stay on guard. Everyone's DEF temporarily increased!
"Pump Up" is the bravery soul's, sometimes known as Jo.
*Jo huddles everyone together and reminds them what Flowey has done. Everyone's ATK temporarily increased!
"Inspire" is the integrity soul's, also known as Mel.
*Mel gave an inspirational speech on the importance of saving the world. Speed temporarily increased for everyone!
"Encourage is the perseverance soul's, otherwise known as Batty.
*Batty encourages the others to never give up, no matter what. INV temporarily increased!
"Cook" is the kindness soul's, otherwise known as Cody.
*Cody makes a fresh batch of cookies for everyone to share. Max HP temporarily increased and maxed out!
"Intimidate" is the justice soul's, otherwise known as Clover.
*Clover makes everyone raise their weapons and remind Flowey of his sins.
*Flowey doesn’t care. But everyone is motivated to try a bit harder. ACTs temporarily became more effective!
"Reflect" is Frisk's.
*You close your eyes, deep in thought of your actions up until now...
*You are determined to see this through to the very end...seems like the others are too!
*Progress of the battle has been SAVEd!
this would be a good idea for an alternate pacifist route in ut tbh
Mel’s the murderer?

Jo? IS HIS FULL NAME ARE JOJO??!1!
@@jens_le_benzThere's a small theory in the UT Kindred Spirits server where there are two Integrity souls that fell down. There, Mel (the one in Kindred Spirits) is the soul in Asgore's possession while the one that commited mass genocide stayed in Chujin's possession.
