A mysterious villain who calls himself the Dragon is attempting to prevent International Airways from beginning service in Mongolia, in order to protect the secret of the mountain of jade for himself.
The serial features a dungeon in the nearby monastery, the kidnapping of an archaeologist who stumbles onto the secret, his daughter's attempts to rescue him with Ace's help, a death ray the Dragon uses on the airline pilots, a radio system by which The Dragon communicates with his henchmen via the rotation of Buddhist prayer wheels (each transmission concluding "The Dragon commands!"), and a squadron of his own fighter planes.

Good to see Jim Rockford’s father when he was young.
Also, Rockford’s “father”, Noah Beery Jr., was the “father” of Mickey Dolentz in the 50s series Circus Boy. Dolentz was later the drummer for the pop group “The Monkeys”, and is the only living member of the group.

I always liked the film as such, but I can REALLY get along without Ace Drummond singing 'Give Me A Ship and A Song' over and over and over. Is that the only song anyone in the production crew could get a hold of???????

I agree totally. Good serial but that singing makes me feel like I'm watching a Mighty Mouse cartoon.
Believe it or not, that song was actually written for the serial. You see, when this serial was made, it was meant to be shown only once a week. One chapter at a time, instead of the way it is here (one chapter after the other without a week to break them up), giving the actual moviegoers more of a "breather." This was also done in the serial "Wild West Days." There was a certain song sung by a certain character and if that serial was played the way it is here, odds are you'd probably get sick and tired of hearing that song again and again too.
I agree with the other Comments here, but this is excessive by any standard. *Even the singer acts like he's sick to death of hearing/singing the same song over and over. You'd think that they could have at least done instrumental versions of it once the song was sung. That would be easier to deal with.
