To me static is basically the Spider-Man of DC if you think about it because they have similar problems and personality. They both struggle without balancing their daily life and their hero life, etc.
Static Shock is diversity done right. He was inspired by Spiderman, has his own powers, problems, identity, and characters without piggy backing off an already established characters. It's a shame he's not promoted and respected like these new third rate characters who's only real attributes are not being white. It's sad how lazy current writers are. Dwayne McDuffie was taken too soon.

People always talked about and made fanwork of other superhero kids despite not being canon anymore or only existing in a alternative universe like Mar'i Grayson for example she is always getting fanart and fanfics about her even though she hasn't been in comics for a very long time. Static was my favorite character growing up in the early 2000's, to me he was driven off the screen by people who didn't like a powerful black superheroe with a white sidekick.

If Static's child gained a degree of molecular rearrangement and or creation it would put them as close as you can get to a reality manipulator as you can get. Your hypothesis about the genes of the child being more "acclimated" to the Big Band is spot on to me. It's similar to the way Cleetus Cassidy shares a tighter bond with his symbiote than other because it deeply bonded to his blood. Really enjoying the theories! 😀

Like within the comics he actually made his own gear. *Richie* is a character that was made specifically for the *Static Shock* show...and was given the bang baby genius powers just that he would 'More easily be involved in Static's life' according to Dwyane McDuffie. It's not an idea man. Virgil *legit* is a genius and it was just toned down for an amalgam character. Because In FACT Gear himself is kind of a expy of Hardware...ANOTHER Milestone genius and hero. I don't like what DC did with this character after Mile Stone comic sold it to DC! I wish Marvel would have received the rights . I knew that DC get a black character they down play them and uplift the white character that already exist . For example, I didn't like when Marvel did with "Luke Cage" by have him match with "Jessica Jones" he could have got with Shuri or Monica Rambeau ! DC doesn't have black writers like Marvel do or have good white writers that could write a black character like a Stan Lee or Todd McFarlane do. I seen that they had to buy the Miles Stone character's to compensate for the lack of black superheroes they don't create or didn't barely have. Character like ''Static" they don't won't to really try to explore or put no real money to make them the success of a Batman or Wonder Women , they base everything around Superman but don't try to push their other brand that could make them more profitable . Static and ICON could be just as big a character like the Superman or Flash that are pretty much even over expos or not evenly balance unless a good writer can bring a good balanced to these characters. The ICON or Statics could be the best utilize character if written by a good writer not a "bum ''that not willing to risk bring out the best in each character because of fear that it may change mainstream readers psychology to seeing that they bring more than just the color of their skin .But a world of great feats and abilities that these character could bring to DC dinosaur thinking, that black superheroes are just accessories or props in the mind of DC editor .
