Ok gentlemen. I just fixed my horn for free. I just cut at the end which severed the piece of plastic you speak of. I removed the copper membrane. I separated the 2 pieces which is + & - . I cut electrical and placed it in between the 2 copper conductors leaving only a 1” wide strip. This will separate the membrane but still allow them to contact each other when the horn button is pushed. My horn now works great. Don’t worry too much putting the 2 copper pieces together I just used electrical tape. Slide it back into the plastic pocket and reinstall the air bag. It will hold it in position. Thanks for your video, it gave me this great idea. God bless
Can you provide some more detail of what you did when you split them apart? Like we’re they just stuck together and required cleaning and then just put them back together or did you put something in between? Plan to do it this weekend
Texas Now my issue was the same my horn was stuck on, so I just took apart the Airbag/Horn. I had slight continuity(short) with the Air bag in place with the horn switch. When I removed the air bag the short went away. I did not remove the switch, I poked around for a while, jiggled the switch around and could not get the short to reoccur. So I re-installed the air bag and checked again. Short was gone. Re-connected the battery and horn is now working properly. Thanks for your quick video. I still would like to hear what you did when you took the horn switch apart to resolve your problem.
Sorry about the delayed response when you take the horn switch out it is basically 2 pieces of conductive material I split those 2 pieces of apart and clean them with alcohol and then glue the edges back together With rubber cement
Same thing happened to me. Hot day, horn just started up and I had to unplug under the hood. But this video doesn't help much at all when it come to step by step!!! I'll find another.

My 97 Jeep Wrangler horn came on all by its self. It is a very hot day. Had to unplug it.
Is this similar that happened to you?
When I bought the Jeep it was like that but I'm guessing you have the same problem
