We have seen this before. Oscar Robinson type players like Lebron, Westbrook, Harden, Grant Hill etc find it really hard to lead teams to titles. Lebron has 3 but needed so much talent with him and so much fortune on 2 of those titles it is amazing. I agree cause of his talent it is expected he will lead a team to a title but him and Porzingis need to be a partnership rather than Luka leading the team. Porzingis is going to need more offensive plays drawn for him. He needs to average 25 plus for Dallas to have a real chance to win a title in the future.

I do not see Luka ever being considered the undisputed best player in the NBA. I see him as one of the top 5 best and I agree he may win an MVP but to sit here and say he is going to be the best player in the NBA, I don't think we will ever be at that point where you will be able to say Luka is the best in the NBA hands down like you could say about Lebron in his prime or Kobe in his prime. To me Luka will be like a Steve Nash, he will be one of the best and may get an MVP

I will withhold my judgment about Luca until I see him play in the playoffs. He may turn out to be another Donovan Mitchell, once they get a game plan for him, you may not hear about him again. Right now he’s just another hype show.
David Robinson had this problem until Duncan showed up. Robinson was a beast in the regular season. But during the playoffs something happened to him were his effectiveness and stats would drop.

And you’re right Magic wasn’t great defensively, but he was still versatile and could switch on any player on the floor and do a relatively decent job. But a lot of the people we considered best player for the last few decades had some kind of defensive presence about them. From Bird to Jordan to Kobe to Lebron they all had the ability to play extraordinary defense in thier prime especially when needed

Luka has a great set of offensive moves. It's not really hype when he's on the floor breaking down defenses. His defense needs work and he's not the best player but he's shown potential for greatness. We'll see come playoff time. Luka won’t be considered the best player in the NBA until he improves his defense and the media stops getting checks from players like Lebron. A lot of people won’t give him credit until after his career is over just because he is white. The same way a lot of people didn’t give Bird credit during his career. They accused Bird of being the great white hope and that he was too slow footed and wasn’t a great defensive player his entire career. It wasn’t until the end of his career and after he retired that people really truly appreciated him as a player. Am I saying Luka is Bird, no, but his basketball IQ reminds me of a young Bird and also his competitiveness. Imagine if the refs let Luka commit a charge every time he goes to the rim like Lebron how good he could be. Wait till he starts getting calls in 4 or 5 years like Harden. We have seen this before. Oscar Robinson type players like Lebron, Westbrook, Harden, Grant Hill etc find it really hard to lead teams to titles. Lebron has 3 but needed so much talent with him and so much fortune on 2 of those titles it is amazing. I agree cause of his talent it is expected he will lead a team to a title but him and Porzingis need to be a partnership rather than Luka leading the team. Porzingis is going to need more offensive plays drawn for him. He needs to average 25 plus for Dallas to have a real chance to win a title in the future.

I do not see Luka ever being considered the undisputed best player in the NBA. I see him as one of the top 5 best and I agree he may win an MVP but to sit here and say he is going to be the best player in the NBA, I don't think we will ever be at that point where you will be able to say Luka is the best in the NBA hands down like you could say about Lebron in his prime or Kobe in his prime.
