i'm from louisiana and think it's ridiculous to want a record changed when the guy had 2 more quarters he would've 100% broke the record in while bres was padding stats in his final game to get the record higher
@@smokythecameraman Then he should've done so, playing just to break Brees' record was petty as mentioned in the video and as a result, why not just go back and make sure Manning actually broke it?
When most people rank a lot of people tend to go by popularity rather than individual accomplishments. I've seen people rank John Elway and Dan Marino over Brees. He gets disrespected a lot.
Im a broncos fan, but i see where you are coming from, and i personally would be greatly comfortable with giving back the record to brees. 2013 is lauded as one of the greatest years of all time and is a shining medallion for all broncos fans to hold on to, but not enough recognition is given to the saints or drew Brees, especially in 2011
LOL Drew B. imo the best of all time accuracy, yards, efficiency. I watched all those Breeze QB challenge videos and I am not a saints fan. This reminds me of the lord of the rings where Gimli had one more kill and boasted about it lmao.
@@smokythecameraman stat padding? they were playing for playoff seeding, and were the third seed even with a win in week 17. Brees had to play, Manning didn't, even with the same record
If you're going to parse it this much, you'll have to go back and parse everything this much. Did Brees throw a possible lateral during his season that was counted as a forward pass? Did some passes that Brees completed get rounded up a bit, here and there? Were some completions counted that should've been incomplete--or vice versa? You can break it all down to the point of absurdity, but if you do, you have to treat everyone the same. This reminds me of the fans who lose a playoff game and then replay a single key play that favored the other team over and over until they locate an o-lineman who was holding for a second or two and call the game invalid, while not similarly breaking down the many plays where their team was aided by a ref's oversight.
I’m sure some bad ball spots affected the totals as well. If the refs say you gained 6 yards, you gained 6 yards. They can’t go and change it to 8 yards after watching film the next day, even if they see that 8 is the correct call.
I don't think it matters THAT much, because, as you said, Manning sat out the second half of that game anyway. If he kept playing, he would have beaten Brees' record by a LOT more.
Doesn't matter really. The record will be broken again especially nkw that they play 17 games vs 16. And imagine how high it will go when they expand the season to 18 games whether we agree with it or not.
Because the Saints were cheated out of at least 2 more superbowl appearances due to the fact that New Orleans winning doesn't generate as much revenue as the majority of NFL teams

Good question. Look the game up and find a website with a play-by-play, I used ESPN. The game is Broncos vs Raiders December 29, 2013. It credits Peyton Manning with a pass to Eric Decker for 7 yards.
If you just talking quarterbacks all take manning all day but if your talking offense 01 stl Rams is my pick it's not often you know who the team to beat is by week 8
If you could, would you adjust the record?
yes, but only because it does not affect the outcome of the game. it is simply a stat correction.
Brees gets constantly disrespected. Thanks for the video Kebean, it was informative and the record should be changed.

When Gronk’s TD was recounted as a rushing TD, that made me lose in fantasy lol.
I just shared this with Cam Jordan. Hopefully he helps us out to get this record changed! Great video dude!
Robbed Drew of MVP too
People consistently rank Rodgers over Brees even though they both have 1 superbowl and Brees has a ton more records. Makes no sense.

Super cool vid. Wish the NFL would do something good for the Saints

Woah Drew Brees was ELITE
I don’t think the league counts tackles/assists, that’s done by each team. What counts as an assist can vary wildly.

Peyton Manning is overrated, just like Patricia Mahomo
@@therooster1339 Great comment. Insightful.
Correct the record, NFL!
I think they didn’t because if they counted that one Manning would have just thrown another pass because he sat at the end of the year
Ngl I'd love to see 2011 saints vs 2013 Broncos I'd also love to see 2011 saints vs 2013 Seahawks

Classic for the NFL to disrespect Brees time after time
manning wasn't about records or he'd have 2 - 50 TD seasons. he did the same thing when he broke marino's TD record.

To be fair, both Manning, Brees, and almost every quarterback gets credited with passing yards on plays where they maybe should not have.
Brees was cheated by the NFL more than any other quarterback
