    Hey pete. Im desperate to know if and how to change the articulation when using strings with a MIDI controller. It defaults to Legato and id like to interchange while playing to make more complex pieces.

      Hmmmm.... you might need to layer multiple tracks, or explore something like iSymphonic?

    Is there a harp option? I see the harp in other videos, it looks like in older versions of GarageBand but I have no idea how to find it. It’s driving me crazy! I love this harp!

      Hey there. I haven’t ever seen a harp in GarageBand sorry? Not in my experience and on the mobile app. Perhaps there is a third party plugin for one?

      Pete Johns I’ll have to check and see if there is a third party plug in for this. Thanks for replying back 😊

    hey pete! anyway to highlight what youre tapping?

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  6 років тому +1

      Hey Todd. Yeah, unfortunately not without a lot of editing. This is why a lot of my videos are made with a camera actually filming me touching the screen so I can show what I’m doing. For these quick jams I decided to use he screen recorder but it does make it harder to see exactly what I’m doing.

    • @toddlask
      @toddlask 6 років тому +2

      yeah, i understand. still great videos! maybe u could say what youre tapping and where? like that settings icon in the top right. maybe say what the icon looks like.

      Great point! I will be more descriptive with what I'm touching in the next one. Appreciate the feedback - the only way I'm going to make these better and more useful for people!

    Do you know how to get the violin to play higher notes? I find it doesn’t go very high. For example, when you used the scale feature it doesn’t go very high at all. Plus you can’t change the octave (even though you can on almost every other instrument). And when I use the keyboard violins it sounds bad. I’m using iPhone

      Hey there. Great question and the solution is not perfect but will work. What I do here is play the part an octave lower on the strings with just the violin, then just select all the notes in the MIDI editor and drag it an octave up. His will let you access those higher notes on the violin that you can’t access on the virtual instrument. I might make a video about this as to ally as it’s a pretty common problem.

      Pete Johns Thanks Pete! I tried what you are saying and it seems to work pretty good. I’m very new to GarageBand so I had no idea you could even do that. Keep up the good work, your videos have been very helpful!
