I am a HUGE Elvis fan, but i would never pay a dime to listen to him speak all the way through an album. This album proves how little respect Tom Parker, and RCA had for the fans.
RCA had nothing to do with this. Here’s the backstory…. It’s Parker fueled, he was TRASH. n 1974, Elvis Presley released Having Fun With Elvis on Stage, an album consisting of over thirty minutes of haphazardly compiled banter from his concerts. It includes no songs and it is completely devoid of context. Save for maybe one brief section, there are no insights into Presley's life. What's included is so incoherent, you don't really get an idea of his stage presence, despite the fact that all the audio comes from his shows. The album was the brainchild of Elvis's manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Parker created a company called Boxcar to manage Presley's commercial rights (while securing the majority of profits for himself), with an eye to eventually turn it into a full-blown record company. Because of Elvis's deal with RCA, Boxcar could not release a normal Elvis record with music. Instead, Parker had to go around this by selling an album that was just his client speaking. Having Fun With Elvis on Stage was the only LP Boxcar ever put out, and it's roundly considered to be one of the worst albums of all time.
@@TCB_MAMA Thank you for the insight. I never knew that at all. I know that Elvis hated this album. Parker was a horrible manager for Elvis. He only cared about the money.

Thanks so much for posting it. I remember seeing this album in a store. It'd been interesting to know which songs he was introducing. The concert albums only had some talking. This material should be available in its proper context, including the music. He did a little bit of singing here, even parts of Hound Dog. I don't blame RCA for taking this record off Colonel Parker's hands. Sometimes the Colonel did the right thing. Many would say this album wasn't one of those incidents. If CDs had been around back then, maybe RCA would have released more complete concert albums. There were charges of trying to cram more songs on a record.

Of course Lennon was BETTER than Elvis. Elvis was a karaoke singer...
The Beatles were shit. I would rather listen to this than any Beatles music, and this album is crap.
@@oilersridersbluejays that's cool, but if the Beatles were shit, elvis was the dungbeetle crawling around in the shit
That means at least Elvis had a brain.
@@oilersridersbluejays yep, he knew how to work an audience. Pretty much the only thing he was good at IMO.
No hatred towards Elvis fans though, we all have our own preferences.
Memphis..welcome..Tupelo..
Elvis .......................... WHAAAAT? what do you want hunny tell me ... lol
Tom Parker was a joke of a manager. He had no respect for artistic integrity. It is almost incredible that Elvis was able to do so much great music when he was managed by a clown like Tom Parker. This album is an insult to Elvis and his legacy.
well well well
I own this album never been opened have had it since he passed away
remember owning this album before C D "s very funny !!
