I love how 3/4 members of Spiritbox have presets in the plugin.
That's the best I've ever heard a plugin sound straight out of the box. No EQ or dialing in or anything and it already sounds sick. That made me so happy
Then I recommend you to also check out both Neural DSP’s Nolly and Plini X. Spiritbox had a sponsorship a while back and I am pretty sure that they used Nolly at the very least. The bass was said to use Parallax from Neural DSP.
Plugins need to have a gate lock button when changing presets.
Yes!! also for stereo, input gain and oversampling
I think what I like most about this plugin is that the heavy tones are super mid-focused.
A lot of amp sims are probably really full spectrum by design since that's what sounds the most impressive in demo videos and such but in a mix you don't really need all those extra highs and lows.
Mike is an awesome musician. A straight riff machine.
This sim really shines when you mess with the clean presets. Very atmospheric and straight forward. The reverb isn't nearly as versatile as I hoped but it aims to accomplish a specific job and nails it pretty well.
Soooooo many plugins available! What a time to be a guitarist. I just picked up the Bogren Digital MLC SubZero 100 plugin and it sounds sweet! I'm going broke with all these plugins! 🤘🤘
You know you're getting old when you scroll the presets and don't recognize a single artist.
Lol. So true.
I use this plugin live direct to front of house and it is sick. Literally just use the Mike Stringer preset chunk and sounds incredible. Cheers.
I don't know man to this day my favorite plugin is the ML Sound Lab - Roots plug in. I throw a free IR ola posted - Roadster Fortin 4x12 and it sounds amazing.
Kinda silly for them to make an ampsim when their record is just the Nolly amps from Neural
Solid point
New record is all his plug-in! :)
I thought they used real amps
@@d77sauce Eternal Blue is all amp sims and programmed drums
I've tried almost every amp sim but I haven't seen this one, will try the trial. The thing is there are so many! I only want to buy one or two (I have a helix and helix native) So for me an insta buy is the MLC SubZero 100, the best I've heard so far. I really want to like the Laney Ironheart, but it's less defined than the sub zero.
I have Nameless (DSP), Andy James (STL), Ezmix (Toontrack), Grind Machine (Audio Assault), GP5 (Native) and so many others guitar plugins. Mixwave Spiritbox Mike Stringer sounds much better in mix than the others. It is insane. But $139 is too much expensive.
My bro would really dig this one. Big Spiritbox fan. Hey Jimmy R you gotta check this out!!!!!!
Is it just me or does this plugin not track drop tune very well. Other plugins I use do
Sounds great but, Daniel Braunstein used archetype Nolly for the Album.. So...
New album is all this.
Oprah be like: "YOU GET AN AMP SIM, YOU GET AN AMP SIM, AND YOU GET AN AMP SIM!"
Hey man, how did you set up the overlay to show both yourself and the amp? I want to get into making UA-cam/Instagram videos like this but don't know what programs I need to do things like this.
solid sounds
🔥🔥🔥
Maybe it was just your audio capture but every time you started to play there was a weird popping sound. Hopefully for Mike and crew it’s not the sim causing it.
Can you converte this plug in to your kemper
You didn't go over the cab section. Bro?
What amp is it based on?
Marshal, 5153, Soldano
@@Argones Block letter 5150. The other two are correct and they chose specific tubes when they modeled the plugin.
Crate 30w combo 😅
The Neural DSP Archetype Nolly 😅
@@treewisemenllc7281🤘😂🤘
oh look, another amp sim. yay.
Well at least it's not Neural DSP for fuckin once...🤷♂️
haha@@theiranxican7412
Fluff kinda looks like bert kreischer if he was a guitar guy lol
Would you happen to have or be willing to sell those Stephen fishman 6 pups???
I don’t really need another amp sim but…
Yeah a bit muddy for me man… needs a lot of work (eq)
My experience is the opposite, it was easy to set up a tight and (very) high gain rhythm sound. From this point of view, it is a promising amp sim. However, I don't like the solo head at all.
I think honestly the playing style of each person plays a big factor as well. Each artist preset has their own playing style so imagine with some eq you could get what you want
@@suffersystemstudios Of course, it's also a matter of taste. The factory presets with a few exceptions are simply bad IMO. Yesterday I saved 3 of my own rhythm high gain presets (with the plugin's own IR), today I opened them with a fresh ear and they sound still better than the factory ones. (The input/output EQ and the position/combination of the microphones matter a lot.)
@@80s_kid I'll likely download the demo and try them out as well, though honestly I am only a novice still at recording so may not feel the full spectrum as other have pointed out. I'm used to drop c and have only gotten into 7 strings so downtuned high gain is still something I am trying to master
@@suffersystemstudios I set my presets with a six string tuned to drop B with an EMG81 pickup. Anyway, this plugin is great for low tuned or 7-8 strings high gain rhythm sounds.
I honestly have lost all interest in amp sim plugins. They all kinda sound good but that's usually not enough to justify their price tag
They sound really good. Especially the MLC sub zero.
Amp sims sound all the same to me tbh there not that Interesting except for the clarivoyant amp sim
Damn homie sounds like you need to do some ear training.
@@o.phillips2522I mean most either sound like shit or just super bland I use the stl amphub and bogren digital stuff but all the 5150 sims sound the same like there's nothing that really wows me
The Otto 11 11 is pretty different from the typical amp sim too.
A lot of amp sims nowadays are just so good they kinda sound alike (especially when professionally mixed). Can almost smell the DSP+GGD combinations before hearing it in modern prog songs and bedroom musicians music. Spiritbox used Neural DSP on their record, I could easily name 5 big modern prog bands that I know that had programmed drums or that used Neural DSP on their albums.. A lot of metal youtuber guitarists also kinda sound the same.
Good thing is these tools are so easily available to everybody nowadays, bad thing is everybody sounds kinda similar nowadays.
@@wavewithus4081 That's the good and bad of technical advancements.
It's easier and pretty affordable to sound good, which almost makes it harder to sound great.
For that signature Spiritbox mud butt guitar tone.
And again price is a joke.Sound is nice.Price is not at all.
$79?
No everything under 99bucks is fine
79 is intro ptice...normal price is 139 bucks and in europe/from their side over 150 bucks...thats too much
@@marcvoss it's $79 right now
am...i just said it in my post thats its 79 bucks right now ^^@@MattProsserMetal

It’s a shame it’s not Neural DSP. Every other companies amp sims are ugly as hell.
Ye this doesn't look amazing and Neural set the bar. Still sounds pretty cool though!
Yes because it's the graphics that matters with a amp sim not sound
@gabethehalfling5253 XD
Been straying away from Neural.
Really love the 3 ones I own; but the more I learn; the more I realize how limited they are compared to other sims/ suites. They do LOOK cool; but tbh sound wise they aren't setting the bar on anything. Plus not letting us mix and match pedals; from one sim to another directly is kinda killing my love for them even more.
But again; they do look cool. But looks are a bonus. Not the main focus of the sims.
@@gabethehalfling5253 I didn’t say that, did I? I compared looks.
I mean Mike designed it. So it would look the same with less features.
