@@FlatironsTuning Note on pads, I never did run the DTC-30 HB521W.800 but the cheapest I have seen for those pads are about $150. Hawk listed them at $186. I run the DTC-70 myself. I am temped to try the DTC-80's up front. Also you can list this kit for the 1999-2001 2.5RS. I can confirm it works on mine.
@@shiloh5199 yes, for many years the car was N/A. Track days and eventually caged it and went road racing. I road raced it N/A up until 2019 where I saw a turbo EJ25 in. At the time I was running 05 LGT fronts and stock rears with Hawk DTC60's. This was not going to cut it with the extra speed I was going to have with going turbo. I got my front kit from Essex Racing at the time and eventually got the Wilwood rears with Hawk DTC70's. It was a big difference. Also for a short time I was running the stock rears with the AP's and I quickly noticed I needed something bigger for the rears to compliment the fronts. The fronts were doing all the work while the rears were not doing much. Brake cooling is a big thing for me also. I run a good bit of ducting to the fronts to keep them cool.
Great video guys. I have a 2005 Saabaru/Aero that came with the optional 17" Enkei wheels. I've been contemplating the bigger brake setup but I'm not sure what I want to go with. I'm not going ever track this car, it's actually my daily/work vehicle...I have a '17 VA chassis for that stuff. The factory brakes are decent but I wouldn't mind the 4pot Brembo's and 2pot Brembo's in the back. Would that setup actually make a noticeable difference or is that setup just aestically pleasing?
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. You will absolutely feel a big improvement in brake feel and capacity with the Brembos over your stock brakes. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
Yep! Here is a link to the video that we put up at the time. 7 years ago, man time flies :-) ua-cam.com/video/6Xzopgayw7c/v-deo.htmlsi=6KFCbKNedDQUk1G3 Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
I'd recommend taking a look at the Verus kit: www.flatironstuning.com/verus-engineering-full-brake-cooling-kit-15-wrx-sti Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
You certainly could do that. We ran an equivalent to that on our Pikes Peak car for a few years. The brake bias would be to the front because of the smaller rear calipers and rotors, but you have good pad options there. It will work all right, but you will definitely notice the difference when you put the rear Brembo's on. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
@@FlatironsTuning thanks for the answers! I got the chasebay rear adjustment valve on the cas so I can dial that. Currently running Wilwood Superlite 4 on front without any issue for now but always looking to improve!
I’m always staying tuned
Excellent! Thanks very much!
Another informative watch guys.
I run 17” wheels too. Really thinking about swapping out my brembo’s and upgrading to the ap racing 4pots now.
Glad the video helped. Stay Tuned!
I have this kit on my 00RS with a Wilwood 4 pot rear kit.
Nice!
Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
Is there a big difference in stopping power compared to your original setup?

What do you think of this kit and using the 06/07 WRX in the back? I know it is meant to use with the rear STI brembo.
