why do you think OEM Lexus battery is better? Lexus does not make batteries. Im sure they just put a toyota or lexus label on an Everlast or Duracell battery and charge twice as much for it. I would just look for a battery with an equivalent or better CCA capability. Look into Interstate batteries, they are highly rated, although on a high end, last longer. Good luck, man. You've got a great truck there!

I would personally recommend ditching the height control. We had a similar factory air-height set up on our 4RUNNER and it only gets more expensive as time goes by. Just go with a standard shock and strut replacement or do the lift. You’ll be much happier and it’ll be cheaper to maintain in the long run. Trust me bro. 😊

I agree that the AHC can be fickle with age and more expensive than its worth. In my case it was simply the globes and then an AHC line in the rear. The ride quality of the AHC is just too nice to sacrifice if the system is not completely inop.

Very good deal. But not cheapest. lol . I just bought a 2003 LX 470, with 92,000 miles original owner perfect car fax. sand dollar for $4500. AC was not working and timing belt has not been changed. Lexus gave previous owner a $5000 estimate to fix AC. I fixed it for $180.00 . I put new tires on it, new pads and rotors and I am removing a few dents and scratches. Suspension is perfect, car rides like it is new. Will do timing belt in 10K miles or so.

Michael Winston what a steal !! I got 219k miles for $5400 and still had the original timing belt! It was still in decent shape actually could have got another 100k out of it! The rear ac line is crimped up from the previous owner and it does not hold Freon .. I have also been quoted a lot of money to repair this..

HMNLT garage would of sped up the rust actually. If he drove it in the snow then you keep your car in a warm garage it’ll actually rust stuff faster.

Jay Moar the hydraulic suspension accumulators were on the way out. I find that the best way to get a car for cheap is to bring the cash and show that you have it. A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush.

“No rust whatsoever”…then proceeds to show us rust. I know he’s in NYC so his idea of rust is different than most. This is a lot of rust and we didn’t get to see the frame…I wouldn’t but that truck. Not that good of deal IMO.

The only reason I liked the lx 470 is because of the engine reliability, and if I wanted to add more. The AHC is way ahead of its time impressively smooth like how a luxury car should be.

Great video, my wife and I are looking at a 2000 LX470 in really good shape, very recent timing belt service, greasable ball joints, brand new tires and a few other recent maintenance check points done. Very little rust. AHC system appears to be fully functional but looks like one is leaking a little bit. It spent the first 10 years of service in CA, the next 8-9 years in CO, a little while in AZ and the last 2 years or so here in TX, all with pretty decent maintenance records. It has 200K miles, Seller is at 10K, firm. Did you ever put up videos on replacing the globes?

I own both 4runner and lx470. I think the 4runner has a much better design and better built. The LX470 does drive much more comfortable but alot of things that breakdown much quicker.
