    Hello Bryan.
Personally I like long videos. They give way more details, a better perspective, and I learn more than from short superficial ones (not that you make any of those). The longer the video - The longer my cozy time. And I do have a cozy time watching your videos which I have done for years. Of course you shall make your videos the length that suits you, and according to what you have time for, but what you don't have to do is to apologize for making a long one because I love it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Though I would very much like to see more of them I will not ask you to spend more time than you already do - The length is entirely your decision, and I appreciate what ever you choose to enrich our lives with.
I'll tell you here right from the beginning that I'll be enjoying each and every second of this. (I hope there's a good rant in there as well).
Thanks and the very best wishes from Denmark.
    Stay awesome Mate.

Try feeding the external antenna via a transformer or inductive coupling to the receiver.

Glad to see you back making videos. I've never worked on one of the
battery operated tube radios myself and in fact never see one around
here. Interesting indeed. I'm with you on trying to help someone. I
am not rich by any means but if I can help someone I usually will. People
have that mentality now that they dictate the terms of the help. When I
first moved from home I didn't have nothing but a bed. I didn't complain
about anything someone give me to help me out. I sure didn't have nice
furniture or anything else, but I was glad to have it. People don't think
that way no more unfortunately. Great video buddy! Cheers! 🍻 -Al

    Dear Mr. Radiotvphononut:
Continue to produce longer videos. The longer length provides a much better interpretation of ancient electronic principles and aids in reducing sleep deprivation.

I agree, I suggest that anybody even remotely interested should download the entire load before it goes away, because indeed these are very nice quality scans compared to the much more common websites where you can download the individual PDF files but they look like bird shit spattered on a windshield when you zoom in.

That’s one ☝️ impressive video length, Mr. Radiotvphononut!! I think 🤔 it’s a record length!! That’s a very fancy radio 📻, and it even has the manual 👨!! Way better than the best, most deluxe Crosley of today!! Please 🙏 don’t apologize for the length of the video, I was waiting for one ☝️. Ya get the best of both worlds 🌎. It’s both electric ⚡️, and battery 🪫 operated. Please strive to make us these extra long videos!! They also work as an ASMR video for those who have trouble 👿 falling asleep 😴. I have no trouble 👿 there, but it could be a favorite 😍 video to fall asleep 😴 to, anyway!! Your friend, Jeff.

Bryan, it's tough to even find plumber's solder. I tried lead-free solder. That was a disappointment. Also, the 60/40 solder is only available in the micrometer diameters. It takes much more to solder the old joints. OK, done with the rant. Keep up the good work.

That's some odd voltages and a lot of them. But back in those days anything is possible.Things just weren't standardized. The 90V sets are much easier as you can just use a battery eliminator. It's a long one but I'll watch it all. I'll have to do it in bits and pieces.

Radiotvphononut, regarding the supply line noise, have you tried bypassing each rectifier diode in the power supply with a capacitor of around 0.1µF. Worked for me after replacing the metal rectifier in a transistor radio with silicon rectifier diodes.

2:37:52 I very much agree, that style of gospel music (hymns). A lot of the modern stuff is not to my taste in musical preferences. I like that many of the hymns have been sung for hundreds of years and have stood the test of time.

Most of us watch the videos to learn something. Please spare us and kindly lose the attitude, the whining about everything wrong, the pessimism and consider that folks of ALL ages are watching. So sorry your glass is half empty but stop bringing everybody down with your negative attitude. Life aint perfect sir but most of us enjoy vintage electronics and you are constantly complaining and badmouthing everything. Cool it.

    • @BBC600
      @BBC600 Рік тому

I think it is kind of important though for the audience to know when something is done "not to the book" and is wrong. The fact he acknowledges it is actually probably helpful for others. As to there being negatively on the channel I think the truth is (although as I've never met him I can't 100% make this claim) he seems a good hearted individual who is trying to enjoy his hobby and helps people where there is need. Sadly, there are people who do try and take advantage of kindness. The world isn't all sunshine and rainbows. You're right about that! However, it seems to imply that you desire somehow he pretended that is the case. As for being an all audience channel; I think it's amazing how the internet connects us all. However, I doubt many kids, tweens, teens, or young adults watch. Probably there are some but that's probably not the target demographic. Overall, you have to take what's there in a video and if you don't like it (as the actual BBC says on some of their programming due to rules they can't appear to be advertising) "Other [insert product/service here in this case "channels" fits in] are available."
