Richard here, thanks for the video! "Production" basically means graphic design and prepress - laying out the rulebook, designing the box and PACs and getting all the files cleaned up and ready for the printers. I've been doing that at DG for a few years now but this series was one of the first chances I've had to do the counters as well.
I appreciate the fact that you show the map first. One of the reasons your unboxing videos are top notch. It drives me nuts reading rules I can't see before the map. Well done.
Thought I'd reserve my usual pre-judgment about anything Derision and keep my mind open for this review. As you say, early indications are positive on all fronts, and as this is an extension of the original, classic PGG, I have to at least give it a sniff.... 2:44: There's that wicked knife flashing open with an ominous **thipp**. You could put somebody's EYE out with that thing!!! 😮 Bag of die (singular) .. bag of baggies?? Ooooookaaaaaay.... Turn Record and TEC cards: why in black and white? Seems they've got a really nice color palette there, why not carry it through? Maps are gorgeous! Joe Youst knows his business! 8:17: What was that sound as you swept the cards off the map? Is that a linen finish or "bas relief"?? Counters: greatly prefer Red Soviet pieces, but the mud brown isn't the worst color choice I've ever seen (Russian campaign has yellow Soviets, so, it's an improvement on that). Does look functional, and at least they don't use silhouettes for the armor. Based on this video, I may have to think about ... maybe ... investing in this series, even though I hate the idea of giving Derision any of my shekels. Antony Birkett is not among the "Rogue's Gallery" of Derision's "usually suspects," so he may be due a pass for being associated with this particular publisher. Thanks for this look under the hood. Well done!
There is indeed a nice linen finish on the map. I probably mentioned it in the video for Volume 1. I have never cut myself with *this particular* pigsticker. It's probably just a matter of time.
@@ardwulfslair Yeah, that linen *sounded off* when you moved the cards off of it!! :o Do be careful with that red-handled dagger of doom!!! It makes you seem like some alley-dwelling TEARAWAY!! :D
Thank you - I think there are a bunch of us that want to ‘return’ to this type of gaming.

Oddly enough, it has a retro look that I actually like very much. It sends us back to simpler times.
I was able to get the maps flat by leaving them overnight under a couple of heavy books. That was for vol. one.
I love JY's maps. That's why I'll be picking these up.
🎉decision has really stepped there game up
These games look nice.
