    Takao Suzuki and Michihisa Onoda discuss a slice serve thoroughly. Mr.Takao, who has been playing tennis for more than 30 years, has repeated the extensive research for the slice serve. he will teach you the theory of the way to hit a slice serve he finally devised a few years ago.
    The original video from Star Tennis Academy was revised and shortened, adding still frames and slow motion to further illustrate Takao Pro's slice serve lesson. Thanks to Takao Pro for this remarkable lesson!

    If you are a 4.0-5.0 player and cant hit a flat server with power in a long run, just switch to slice serve like this... this really save your stamina while not reducing a lot of the effectiveness of your serve

    💯👏🏾💥. Reinforces my thoughts that the slice serve in the deuce court needs some topspin as well as side spin. Great instruction!

    Coach did a good job.
    I am Korean and I am Changjoo Kim, Technical Analyst for Tennis and Technical Analyst for Pickleball.
    There are two main ways to serve in tennis.
    One is to use arm supination.
    Another method is to use arm pronation.
    using supination
    Can use flats, slices, and topspins
    using pronation
    Can perform flats, slices and topspins.
    For serves seeking batted ball weight and speed, pronation is effective.
    However, pronation is more difficult to learn than supination, and shoulder injuries are common if the posture is learned incorrectly.
    Supination is easy to learn and allows for slices and topspins with ease.
    If you are a professional player, you will be able to attack with a variety of pitches if you have both supination and pronation skills.
    The kick serve is a way to use pronation.

    打球重量と速度を追求するサブは、回内戦が有効です。

    Pro Takao has a smooth and fluid service motion. Almost Fed esque, no wonder he took a set from the King. Here you or the translation should be clearer though. I think you unnecessarily complicate things, that is, make them convoluted. What does Takao mean by ”more inside surface” as the optimal slice serve contact point? Nearer the mid axis of the ball, yet in the right upper square? So he prefers to toss ball more to the left, nearer head? Anyway, by considering the basic physics and geometry of the sloce serve, you could come up with much simpler and clear-cut descriptions, explanations and understanding here. A good, disguised slice (probably with some added topspin) is not an easy feat, but the conceptual idea behind it should be relativelt easy and straigthfotward, with spin though. ;-)

      If you wish Coach Takao to create a more concise and to the point slice serve video, please comment directly on his longer, original that Takao posted at
      ua-cam.com/video/xL_ljXbnHPc/v-deo.html
      This video was created by shortening the original by 2/3, with original cc; then added still frames to highlight the recommended contact point, with more slow motions to illustrate. This shorter video was warranted to get my tennis group players to bother watching, and others in the www. 4200 views after one month! Original video has 133,000 views after 2 years.
      After two emails, Takao has not replied regarding approval for this posting. Perhaps he approves, or perhaps I should rewrite my email in Japanese via Google Translate!

    • @CahalanTennis
      @CahalanTennis  Рік тому

      Actually, I believe most with a good slice serve are doing this without knowing it. Even if contact started centered between the two sides, the ball would slide toward the inner edge during the hit. Those with a not so good slice, have no idea where they are contacting!
      Personally, I find it hard to see where I’m contacting during my slice serve. Would need to video!

    • @shabzone
      @shabzone Рік тому +1

      Yes but his video is the first one that clearly shows the contact point and the pronation through contact. Most other videos just say stay on edge as long as you can and then the slice just magically happens. 🤷
