as a vietnamese we support this project, it help cambodia less reliance on vietnam and become more indepedent country, this would help cambodia economy to grow faster. Even though we vietnam will have to suffer from the slow river flow causing sea salt flow back in, it been like that for a while now, which is bad for argiculture near the river but we accepted this for our neighbour cambodia, we don't want our relationship to deteroriate further. As for the issue we would find a way or hope both country could cooperate to find a solution, so everyone happy afterward.

This is a game changer for Cambodia
as a vietnamese we support this project, it help cambodia less reliance on vietnam and become more indepedent country, this would help cambodia economy to grow faster. Even though we vietnam will have to suffer from the slow river flow causing sea salt flow back in, it been like that for a while now, which is bad for argiculture near the river but we accepted this for our neighbour cambodia, we don't want our relationship to deteroriate further. As for the issue we would find a way or hope both country could cooperate to find a solution, so everyone happy afterward.
We have to dig it to a successful stage and China has always helped us.

This is a very small canal. Just over 5 meters (15 feet) deep. No warships can transit this canal. Only barges. It will be good for improving irrigation and transiting agricultural products to the ocean for export. That is it.

Currently, Cambodia has to pay taxes to Vietnam to use their ho chi minh port canal since its is the only way for ships to access Phnom Penh. With this funan canal being built Cambodia do not have to rely on Vietnam no more.
