    Just yesterday, I did whole job on GMC Savana 1500 5.3 and I made 7 cylinders from the inside and single one from under the hood so I hadn't to lift the car, nor to remove wheels. Anyway, thanks for the video, it gave me a lot of confidence and insight.

    Our 2014 Savana 3500 cube van at work was overdue for maintenance. I got new plugs and plug wires, O2 sensors and air filter from the dealership. Also cleaned the MAF and throttle body. Took 4 hours, but planning ahead is key
    Spray penetrating oil on the passenger seat bolts at least a day beforehand. Jack up and remove both front wheels. Prepare to come up with new combination of curse phrases
    However it runs like new and even gets 20% better fuel economy

    I purchased a Chevy express 2500 a little over than 4 years ago. It had 150k miles. In 4 years I put 100k. Now it has 255k miles Just did the Wires and plugs and 3 coils. Started shaking bad. And about a month Agar I put a new pump. Believe it or not the original pump lasted 250k Btw. I paid around 650 to get the wires and plugs and 3 coils 1 mop sensor I thought I got a good price. I am happy with it. I am about to get me another van. I am on the road a lot. 25k miles per years

    Awesome video Terence. Gave me the confidence to try this on a 6.0 litre 2007 Savannah. Very similar but clearances a little tighter. I was able to change all of the passenger side and two drivers side interior sockets with a 3/8 inch ratchet using a short swivel joint extension. The two closer to the front on the drivers side I had to jack up and go in from the wheel using straight extensions. Cheers from Calgary Canada!

    I had some success with getting the spark plug boots off by twisting the boot around in one direction until it released from the spark plug. Then, it came right off no problem. My plugs were (cooked) on and took some muscle to break free. The extension is a must to be able to put the required muscle on it.

    Terence, great video, and got me out of a pinch when trying to figure out that driver's side forward plug! I found that I needed to jack the van up, but didn't need to pull the wheel off. Also, for leverage, a half inch breaker bar on an extension, with a helper keeping positive pressure to engage the plug was helpful.

    Easy job but spark plugs are in very tight position.. Its best taking the driver seat out and the passenger wheel off of possible.. best to change plugs .wires and ALL ignition coils.. express vans are VERY easy to work on and spare parts areveasy to find and they run forever. Change oil frequently..use AC DELCO OR FACTORY SPARK PLUGS ONLY..

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  2 роки тому

      Issac, the lines will not create low oil pressure. what size engine do you have? Does the van run as if it has low oil pressure? There has been cases where the guage became inaccurate. I'm hoping the o-ring around the pick-up tube has not worn out. That's another culprit of low oil pressure. I have a video on my channel showing that as well in my suburban when I changed the oil pan gasket.

    • @issacjackson552
      @issacjackson552 2 роки тому +1

      @@TerenceDIY , I have a 4.8 engine. And, the gauge is working fine, as I can tell. But, when I drive above 50, the engine would sometimes tick and other times it wouldn't. Before that low oil pressure message came on, I noticed my oil pressure dropping a little at a time, over the past month. I was checking the oil level on the dipstick, & it kept being on full. So, thought it was good, until the messages on the dash told me about the low oil pressure and cut the car off.

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  2 роки тому

      @@issacjackson552 , I wouldn't be surprised if it's the oil pick up tube o-ring. That is a tell tale sign of low oil pressure in those engines. That 4.8 is bulletproof! One of the greatest engines Chevy ever produced if maintained properly.

    Would this procedure be pretty much identical in a 2006 Express G1500? Same parts, too (spark plugs, wires, coils?)
