I just didn't even know about Sharepoint lists at all! Going to look into them too :)

Take a look, they can be good to simple databases/tables where you don't need a lot of IT support.

I have over 15,000 records in my SP list; can I filter - using PowerQuery - the data before it all comes into my Excel file? Out of those 15,000 lines, I may only need 5 records most of the time.

Nice sharing! But with my office 365 business version, it does not have option for Sharepoint or similar 😂😂😂

      That’s interesting 🤔… I’m not sure why.

Microsoft made some changes. Not sure when, but only Office 365 For Enterprise (O365 E3/E5 licenses) have the ability to get data from SharePoint. I have an E3 license and when I log into Excel on another user's computer who only has the business license, I get the option to Get Data from Sharepoint, but the moment I sign out and the regular user without the Enterprise license logs in, it disappears from the menu. Capitalism, at its finest.

Hey Jim, so is the only option to upgrade to office 365 for enterprise? This is a major obstacle for me at the moment for creating automations from my SharePoint lists.

Are there limited rows that are allowed to download using this method?

I believe one of the connectors has 5000 row limit. I’m not sure about the other.
You could try using an ODATA connection if the native SharePoint connectors aren’t working.

Is there an easy way to write data back to a Sharepoint List from Excel using a connector vs overwriting with copy n paste / PowerAutomate?

      Not to my knowledge.

The Excel to SharePoint connector was deprecated ~2010. You have to setup IQY to get data from SP into Excel, and then use Power Flow to get Excel data back into SP. Think of it as MS job security, where once it was easy, then became hard.

When clicking export in sharepoint, I get "Export to CSV" and "Export to PowerBI". Could you help me find out why I'm not able to "Export to Excel"?

If I keep this file in SharePoint folder will it autorefresh ?

    • @ExcelOffTheGrid

Auto refresh can set in Power BI. But there in no auto refresh in Excel.

Why this doesn't work for Excel online is idiotic. MS seems to have such frustrating holes in what their platforms can do online.

The Excel team has a lot going on. It just takes time for things to be developed. But I'm sure it will happen, don't worry.
