New sub. I like yall’s style, no negativity,, no BS. Clean entertainment. Satoshi-san has the best voice evr!!!! I would love him to hang out with me all day and narrate everything we do. Big love from new orleans
Thanks guys for the gadget review. I bought the two square container egg gadget at Daiso. I must say this gadget is great! I have be using it for lunch and impressed my JN staff at work. Thanks for the video and keep doing these types of reviews. As an American living in Japan, I have learned a lot from these vids and you two. Thanks!
Hi, I made your karee udon. My parents are not used to non Spanish foreigner food. But they loved my udon! I loved them too. Chewy, sweet, aromatic, beefy, fresh with the spring onions.
Oh my gosh! I need a dashi-maki tamago trash can in my life! Lol! Out of all 4 egg gadgets, this is my all time fav. Why doesn’t our Daiso have fun gadgets, like yours does!! Thanks for sharing boys. I’m going to Daiso today-just to take a look. ☺️
Thank you for sharing! About the egg piercer, the women in our family have had them for decades. If it went missing we used a knife tip. The belief was passed down that it keeps the boiled egg from building up pressure and exploding. I never heard about it making them easier to peel until your channel. We've always pierced our eggs, so it was interesting to see it must be a very localized belief.
I live by myself and often make Japanese bentos to take to work for lunch. I never make egg things because they take so much time and mess for 1 small thing. The trashcan contraption is perfect! Going to look in my daiso soon.
I just got to visit California to see my son for one week and a Daiso was right up the street from where he lived I was so happy and so excited after watching them on your channel here all the time I got some bowls and dish towels and some other things I'm back home now in Wisconsin and I already miss the Daiso..so sad..
I love the kitchen gadget videos! Thanks for brightening my day with a new one! Satoshi, it's fun to see gadgets on an egg theme. The two microwave gadgets might be helpful in summer, too, when it is so hot to cook in the kitchen. Using the microwave helps to keep your home cooler. Thanks for the great video, and I hope you will enjoy your time in Hawaii! :-)
@Tabieats this video was delightful! So funny and helpful! We do not have Daiso here in Utah but we have some of these at our local Asian Market. Much excite, now I know which ones to get! Thank you!
I was a bit bored this evening, and ended up watching (so far) >half of the kitchen gadgets playlist. Thank you so much for making these - I've watched for years, but this really made my evening and you definitely deserve some patreon support from me (I've never looked it up until now, so you'll be my first one!). Gotta love the CanDo egg timer from a previous video, it was so cute - they have a new one nowadays, so I'm a bit disppointed that I didn't buy it ^^. Keep up the good work!
You have to remember that eggs are some of the most intimidating things to cook for people like me; Eggs can be really finicky for shaping and cooking just right and such. And they're so delicious and pretty when done right. So I can definitely understand why there are so many egg gadgets.
Hey guys! I love when you do kitchen gadget videos; they are so fun! I love the "double trash can" gadget, LOL! I think it's super cute. The boiled egg maker is a good one, too. Just wish it held more eggs. Does poking the bottom really help with peeling them? That is the worst part for me; I'm terrible at it! My eggs come out looking so terrible when I'm done with them, LOL. Thanks for another fun video my friends! :)
Great eggspectations! What a fun review - even for an egg phobic like me! Thanks for all your wonderful videos and wishing you both all the best in Hawaii.
poking a hole in the shell does two things. first, it helps prevent the egg from cracking during boiling since it acts as a pressure release. second it allows water to get into the egg and get between the egg white and the membrane making it much easier to peel.
I am also using the fourth gadget, the boiling egg stand. I make two eggs for breakfast with it every morning, and it works perfectly most of the times. I have not seen the other 3 gadgets in my local Daiso (Singapore) though...
When eggs are just laid its very hard to peel them after boiling. I learned this the hard way with our home-laid eggs from our flock. As they age they become easier to peel (has to do w the gradual evaporation of water through the inner membrane and the porous shell). Pricking a hole is to try to prevent the egg from breaking during boiling.
Lol I really like when you both do these reviews for diaso. You both make it so fun to watch. One is basically trying to sell the product and the other is like hmmm... I see some flaws lol 😂
If you have trouble peeling your boiled eggs, have a bowl of ice water ready. When the eggs are done, you put the boiled eggs straight into the ice water until they are cooled enough to work with. The peel will come right off. If you roll the egg on a counter with enough force to crack the egg all the way around, you can pull the shell off in one piece. The egg basket with the needle poke is cute but really unnecessary. You can keep a thumb tack in the kitchen if you think the hole helps but usually the shell comes off easily if you use the ice water and peel once they are cool or warm (but not hot). If you put them in the refrigerator and wait a few days, they will be harder to peel perfectly. Just an FYI
When you put cool eggs into boiling water, the egg white next to the shell will cook quickly, so when the egg is cooked and you try to peel it, the shell comes away much more easily.
I have the omelette tray gadget and found that the egg still got stuck to the tray even with the textured surface. Now I am more interested in getting the trash can dashi omelette maker and the hardboiled egg basket!
darlings, - piercing a hole in an egg prevents the egg from cracking during cooking!! Not that it will make it easier to peel the egg. Learned this back in school during cooking classes. - Regarding the peeling problem, after I've boiled the egg I keep them, for a while, in cold running water, then I put them in a bowl of cold water and put it in the fridge. Always make eggs one day in advance. A few hours before I need them, I break the shells by 'tapping' them against the table f.i., and rolling them with a light pressure of the hand over the table. Then I put them back in that bowl of cold water and put them back in the fridge. Afterwards I can peel them much easier. But remember, dear ones, the fresher the egg, the harder it is to peel no matter what you try!!!! Love, Pinkie
Great video, guys! Did you notice the phrase in portuguese in the egg boiler package? I didn't see that coming hahaha! Thanks for all the amazing videos! Enjoy Hawaii! Love u guys!
We have Daiso in California too. I have so much trouble making soft boiled eggs - I always cook them too long or it is too difficult to peel. Maybe this boiled egg gadget might be helpful. I'll go look at my local Daiso. Thanks for the video guys!
Guy Mats I'm in California. Never seen a Daiso. Also, the age of the egg determines how easy or not it is to peel, not a pin hole. The older the egg, the easier it'll be to peel. Here's an egg tip: bring eggs and cold water together to a boil. As soon as you have a rolling boil, cover and reduce heat to the absolute lowest temperature. Set your timer for 10 mins. Remove and immediately dunk in ice water. You'll have the perfect hard boiled egg, garauntee, every time.
Phillip Arpin I've seen daiso in San Jose, San Francisco, el Cerrito, Cupertino, mountain view, union city, etc... you must not be looking for them if you don't see them
Thanks. I'm in Northern CA now but there are Daiso all over Southern CA from Torrance to Rancho Cucamonga. Here is their store list www.daisoglobal.com/store/list/?c_id=C0006
Love Diaso, but unfortunately where I live don’t have a Diaso store. I am so sad, when I live at Seattle, they are a lot of Diaso store. I love Tamago, if I have those gadgets, it will make perfect meals for me and a big bounce is, it’s designed for microwave. I love anything that can cook from microwave. More easier the better as for the lazy people like me. I don’t like to cook.
Funny and interesting vid guys! I'm going to Daiso and Mini So tomorrow if it's not raining too hard I'm gonna see what new items have arrived maybe some kitchen gadgets? Love u guys!👸👑💗💗💗💞
the egg boiler/easy peel ok its only 100 yen but the fast way to peel an egg is crack it on its side not the point of the egg place your palm of your hand on it a roll it then its very easy to peel and if you like hard boiled eggs remember to try the Owakudani Black Eggs in Hakone
I was wondering if you guys would consider making Tasty Japan recipes, review them, and then say whether or not it differentiates from traditional cuisine or do a side by side comparison of your version of the dish :)
You can change the wattage of your microwave? Mine just goes full 1100 watts... even if i use power level it dosnt change the intensity, it just, for example at 50% power cooks for 5 seconds then does nothing for 5 seconds
The problem with the tamagoyaki omelet maker is that some pans, including yours, is slightly higher in the middle (you can see this at 8:15+) and the omelet maker doesn't bend enough to follow the curve of the pan. This is why the egg leaked out of the edges.
So much fun. Sadly, there's nothing as interesting for sushi making etc in dollar stores in Canada. I'm curious as to the 2nd dish Satoshi mentioned that the thin omelette could be used for ... besides chirashizushi.
I love and I miss Daiso.. They are really an Eggscellent store. Though the closest I could get to was Mutsu.. more than an hour away. Still went almost once aw eek though. somewhat tempted for these.
You can get the tomogoyaki pan on amazon non stick for $19.99 , great quality !! Mine is awesome, get the purple one so you know its the same as mine and the best quality ☺
I would love to use that boiled egg maker to make soft boiled eggs. Then I don’t have to try to lower the eggs into and out of hot water with a spoon or tongs. Seems like it would be great.
I'm really enjoying these gadget reviews. The gadgets themselves seem ridiculous, and the idea of trying to make typical Japanese foods in a microwave and so on is just tragic and funny by itself. I have dozens of these kinds of things, they sometimes turn up in the US, and often the instructions are not in English... There are dozens of things to make rice balls and various forms of rice, and onsen eggs... so it's funny, but I really do want to know if it can work! The store that sells all these things sounds like a lot of fun. It should be mentioned that even in America you can buy a rectangular pan to make rolled omelettes and egg sheets and so on, even a copper one with a tin lining- It's not that hard to cook an egg sheet! All these things seem to imagine ? someone living in a dorm or a room with no kitchen? Or just a microwave to cook in? A rice cooker and a microwave oven? This is really bachelor life!
The pin has nothing to do with shelling the egg. It's to let the air bubble out of the shell as the egg expands during cooking to avoid the egg exploding.
Guys I think the correct word for the 'snaps' on the 'trashcan' are clips (at least thats what they are called in england). Keep making great videos and keep on smiling. - G.
I love your Daiso kitchen gadget videos! I actually ordered the Daiso Sushi Roll Maker and the Daiso Onigiri Maker Set because they looked so cool! They work, too! I couldn't shape onigiri by hand to save my life! I like the "dashi-maki tamago trash can" but think I still prefer making real tamagoyaki in a traditional pan. For Americans who can't find one locally, here's a link to a good one on Amazon: www.amazon.com/TeChef-Tamagoyaki-Japanese-Collection-Non-stick/dp/B00N4N2EP4 Thanks for another fun video, guys! The more I watch, the more I want to go to Japan!
The microwave plate could make thin omelette for omurice rice ball. Use omelette instead of nori. I think the egg molds were better egg gadgets than these. Yeah the roll sushi shaker was probably the best gadget you've tested.
I like the reviews but I love the interaction of you two guys. You are so enjoyable

Double trashcan. You guys slay me. I liked the boiled egg maker best. Love these and can't wait for the next one. Happy thoughts. JC
Right when I was looking for something to watch with my breakfast... :D Good timing!
Thank you. I always wondered what those Japanese gadgets were for. Please make more.
I like the little tray you guys showed. Makes me wish there was a Daiso near me so I could get it!
Lol!!! Shinichi u crack me up!!! Skeptic, always lol! I have to agree the 1st gadget maybe useful for me. Love, love, love...
The first one definitely the most beneficial.... I have to buy this one and make it to my list. At least i don't need to fry it on the pan.
Great eggspectations! What a fun review - even for an egg phobic like me! Thanks for all your wonderful videos and wishing you both all the best in Hawaii.
Nice egg gadgets and its all cute thank you Shinichi and Satoshi
Daiso is awesome! Such a neat store.

Sweet haircut. The fade is awesome, matches your face shape well.

Here in the US we can get a tamagoyaki pan very easily from Amazon. I need to learn to make it now!
the egg boiler was the best. more Daiso products!
I didn't know you did gadget reviews! :-D
I think I'd like to see more :-3
Nice review. You guys are so funny.
I LOVEIT WEN YOU GUYS DO THESE
Off topic, but I like Shinichi's hair like that! It's super cute.
I like the last one ...I would buy several

Love you gadget videos. I bought the sushi maker from Amazon I liked it so well.
This was interesting! I wonder if the tamago mold would be better off pre-warmed some?

I have to say was nice to see that vid with your dad shinichi also enjoy Hawaii!!!!! 🤙
I read that fresh eggs are harder to peel than old ones, we do also have only really fresh eggs so it's always a mess to peel them XD great video :D
I have the omelette tray gadget and found that the egg still got stuck to the tray even with the textured surface. Now I am more interested in getting the trash can dashi omelette maker and the hardboiled egg basket!

Also I think you got lucky with the peeling, the last time the pin didn't help at all :D
The pin has nothing to do with shelling the egg. It's to let the air bubble out of the shell as the egg expands during cooking to avoid the egg exploding.
Eggcellent video
Guys I think the correct word for the 'snaps' on the 'trashcan' are clips (at least thats what they are called in england). Keep making great videos and keep on smiling.

I’m at Morimoto Orlando having a soba beer for Satoshi.
You guys would be amazing on Sesame Street (and that is a compliment)
xxmightyonexx I can see it haha!
I love your Daiso kitchen gadget videos! I actually ordered the Daiso Sushi Roll Maker and the Daiso Onigiri Maker Set because they looked so cool! They work, too! I couldn't shape onigiri by hand to save my life!

The silicone omelette maker!
The microwave plate could make thin omelette for omurice rice ball. Use omelette instead of nori. I think the egg molds were better egg gadgets than these. Yeah the roll sushi shaker was probably the best gadget you've tested.
