the lady on the shore is Yao Bikuni. when Yao was a child, she met Sen and Rei's mother dying on a shore. the mother asked Yao to eat her so she could watch over her two daughters. because of eating a mermaid's flesh, Yao became immortal. Yao has forgotten about this story as time goes by. Sen's father has also disguised himself as the queen because he killed the queen. fast forward, because of the events that killed Ungaikyo the cursed mirror, Yao Bikuni has set on a journey to the Eternal Sea that's now freezing, to purify a shard of Ungaikyo. there, she met Sen and Suzuka Gozen(Rei). Suzuka is the rightful heir to the throne. because of this, Sen was jealous because she wanted to protect their home, but only the rightful princess can do so. when Suzuka was about to unleash the power of the conch called Murex Halberd, Sen's father casted a spell to take Suzuka's power. Sen defeated her father to save Suzuka. now, because of the spell casted by the father, the Eternal Sea is freezing much more rapidly. Suzuka wants to perform the ritual to unfreeze the sea, but Sen stopped her. Sen said Suzuka already has someone she wants to protect, so Sen should be the one to do the ritual. Suzuka wants to stop Sen because the ritual would kill Sen. but Sen still did it anyway. she sacrificed herself to save the home she loved.
