13:46 The Survey Corps have already killed off pretty much every single dangerous pure titan roaming outside the walls at this point in the story. This was how they were able to venture out to view the sea at the end of season 3. I felt bad for Yuki Kaji when Eren screamed while breaking free from the chains, his voice acting was god-tier but that must’ve been painful too. That would’ve shot my voice box for a week
Yo Ivory us from the manga readers have been waiting for this for 2 years now. In case you're curious, aside from some rearranging of the order of events, everything played out totally faithfully to the original story here. They even added a few details, like Eren's eyes moving as the parasite attaches to his head, Ymir being exhausted in the paths, and the insane animation of how his founding titan form moves. We thought it used the ribs like stilts to move forward, but the fact that it slithers forward like a snake is better than we could've imagined. 1000/10 MAPPA

Eren: Getting rid of our race? I could never agree to a plan that messed up. Sorry, brother. Zeke: Oh. I see. Eren: Instead, I'll get rid of all the other races instead. Zeke: *NANI?*

Fun fact : The guy who has animated the wall falling and the begening of the rumbling is a french animator, he got paid 140€ for animated 15 sec of the rumbling, he has worked on it during 1 month and 1 week without sleeping, His name is DORIAN COULON, his name appear at the end of the episode, he did the animation in his bedroom xD. 6:15 to 6:30 is the Season 2 ED. Also, this episode was foreshadowed 9 years ago in episode 25 of season 1. That was an Anime Original ending. It did not happen in the manga.
After part 1 I was so afraid of how this moment would look like, so far, the rumbling hasnt let me down, lets hope the quality continues or gets even better.
Tatake we keep moving forward that's all we gotta do. I'm in love with this episode... it was beautifully animated some of the scenes got me in awe... attack on titan always come through for me on Sundays
Bro I just realized the first episode of the entire series season 1 is called: To You, In 2000 Years. And this episode is called: From You, 2000 Years Ago.
Here’s my theory on the pathogenic parasite: if you look back to season 2 op 1 it shows markings inside of every eldians body, might be bc of the parasite marking its host, then I recalled pathogens existing during the ages of dinosaurs then realized dinosaurs were in OP 1 and the parasite seemed to make Large dinosaurs and other creatures their host making the pathogen grow, after it grew it most likely detached from its aged host and some how got inside that weird tree, left their it manifested the ability for its future host to become somewhat largely mutated or something, what we know as a titan, also explaining why ymirs titan form looked strange.
As a manga excited was an understatement for how I was feeling watching this episode 😭 I’m so glad they animated eren’s transformation cos I had no idea how he transformed in the manga. But this episode was INSANE 😭😭😭 today is an amazing day for anime (Demon slayer)
In case if you didn't notice... When Ymir's 3 daughters eat her after death the tree behind Ymir gets divided into 3 branches... and afterward, it keeps spreading and spreading... so Ymir stays there for 2000 years taking care of that tree which she thinks are her children.
That creature ressembles a primitive lifeform called Hallucigenia, which lived 500 millions of years, during Cambrian period on Burgess Shale, Canada. This is a very simbolic thing because Burgess Shale its known as the "Origin of Life", thanks for its vast biodiversity which brought all the actual lifeforms from all the entire planet. So...we can say Ymir "made contact" with the Very Beginning of Life, represented on Hallucigenia. In a "metaphorical way", Ymir found God itself.
I have waited so long for this few chapters to be animated. Mappa truly nailed it with their adaptation. Also Yuki Kaji's voice acting is insane in this episode man.
eren who grabs ymir from behind as if he was hugging her and telling her to become free, what she wanted since then, that someone opens her mind, for the first time we see her eyes and she cries, this was really emotional
I know it's a week late, but just wanna point out that they had wiped out all the pure titans on the island back at the end of season 3. The walls only served the purpose of protecting them from outside threats at this point in the series. Zeke just casually introduced our earliest threat back into the series with his scream. Even with the walls, it wouldn't have mattered cause they were already inside lol
Ivory I think you missed the point… Eren did not manipulate her, if you remember the interaction between Mikasa and Eren, He said “I hate people who are slaves who are not free ” (something like that) meaning he wants them to be free, that’s why eren was angry when his father and the kids under the church… Eren knew that Ymir was a slave and was making Titans because of her trauma with the king, so he had a plan to end up with Ymir by touching his brother. His brother was the same type of dude as the king that made Ymir do what he wanted instead of letting her be free and do what she wanted. Eren hugged her understanding her struggles and waited for eren the whole entire time. Therefore eren got the power to eliminate enemy who not only attacked the island saying they are demons but also for putting this horrible act on Ymir. Correct me if I’m wrong
I like how the worm or whatever that is is just described as "something" to which all these power originated from and we won't know how that actually makes sense. It's like with the Big Bang Theory and how the universe was created. All the origin of life began from a single singularity or "something"
IVORY, what we just witnessed, that right there, is the epitome of storytelling. Isayama stay GOATED for writing one of the greatest stories ever told. The Rumbling.. has finally started. There is no going back from this. All the walls in Paradis have crumbled. There are no walls in Attack on Titan anymore. 2000 Years in the making. Let that fact sink in. And to think there is more to come. We truly have come so far.
For the past 4 years they have kept titans off the island of Paradis; All were killed. The titans in the preview are those that transformed from Zeke's scream.
I know my neighbors hate me because I totally freaked out watching this episode. Even though I read the manga , Mappa has exceeded my expectations for this episode. This solidified AoT space in my heart as my favorite show. May be over / On the same plateau as Naruto for me. 💫 Thank you Jesus and Isayama- Sama.
I think its ironic that Zeke was telling her to kill all Eldians and this would have presumably set her free, since her mission was to keep Eldia strong and alive. Keeping her in the paths for all of eternity. While Eren was telling her to choose revenge over freedom, because her revenge meant his own freedom, but not hers. Only because Zeke was trying to force her to kill all Elidans, did she not listen to him. It was because Eren was the first person to ever give her a choice that she chose revenge over freedom.

if wit would have adapted it then no anime season could have defeated aot s4 but also if mappa was given enough time i guess they could have pulled it off too. however what we are getting is really damn good
I dont think WIT could have pulled it off much better really. As far as I know the reason WIT passed on this season was because the schedule was much tighter than in the other ones, so they wouldn't have been able to make it. Thats also the reason no other studio wanted to take it. What MAPPA has acomplished with the time they were given has been incredible

@@jaketrump72 that's the scariest thing about this show. It makes genocide look justifiable.

13:46 The Survey Corps have already killed off pretty much every single dangerous pure titan roaming outside the walls at this point in the story. This was how they were able to venture out to view the sea at the end of season 3. The only pure titans left are ones incapable of moving like the one they found on the way to the sea and Connie's mother. The titans created by Zeke's recent roar are still around too.

It’s so good actually

I felt bad for Yuki Kaji when Eren screamed while breaking free from the chains, his voice acting was god-tier but that must’ve been painful too. That would’ve shot my voice box for a week
He even tweeted that he almost lost his voice coz of it! Hope he’ll be better tho;-;
When you realize how intertwined this moment has been from the beginning of the series you will be mind blown. Truly a masterpiece
Appreciate the reactions. Right after I finish the episodes for demon slayer and AOT I come straight to UA-cam to see your reaction. Really enjoyable and just so fun to watch so thank you

Well that one man has a big ass army so lol
1 man with 10M Collosal Titans
"man"
Not 1 what about yagerysts
I like how yimirs whole backstory has a darker shade of color
This episode was so crazy bro literally got me screaming
Just to clarify The blue creature that gave Ymir her powers was a REAL Creature in the past called "Hallucigenia", it's not some plot hole they just made up
Also to clarify they explain this later in the season.
@@wilmaso Do they?? I don't remember them explaining it in the Manga
@@BAEHELPJAYDO they don’t. They explain the real history behind the hallucigenia but never why it gives Elisa a titan powers.
@@BAEHELPJAYDO Yes I believe Zeke tells Armin about it in the paths later.

Eren: Getting rid of our race? I could never agree to a plan that messed up. Sorry, brother.

i’ve been waiting for you to release this episode, THIS WAS SO HYPE let’s go black air force protagonist let’s get ready to rumble !
The story's reaction to your comment : 😭
Right
In 2013 all people feared was the day the Titans would break down the walls
It’s 2022, that fear never left
I know
What do you mean u didn't feel the terror
I WAS LITERALLY CRYING THROUGHOUT EP 20 AND THIS EPISODE, IT'S FUCKING HERE GUYS, THE RUMBLING IS FUCKING HERE
Just to clarify:
Eren wasn't manipulating Ymir, he was just the first person ever to give her a choice and offered her freedom.
And at the end of season 3 they already took out all of the titans on Paradis, the only ones left are those that can't move or the ones transformed by Zook
Yeah
Fun fact : The guy who has animated the wall falling and the begening of the rumbling is a french animator, he got paid 140€ for animated 15 sec of the rumbling, he has worked on it during 1 month and 1 week without sleeping, His name is DORIAN COULON, his name appear at the end of the episode, he did the animation in his bedroom xD. He has also drawn in 2D the Colossal Titan who appear first when the wall is collapsing .
He was the real villain all along
Ivory: There's no way they can outdo the last episode, right!?
Eren: *literally starts the apocalypse* _bet._
With aot and demon slayer coming out on the same day this season has been fire 🔥🔥
Then we getting some heavy hitters after this season.
2022 could go down as one of, if not the best years of anime.

I'M WAITING FOR 2 LONG YEARS FOR THIS MOMENT!!!!
Ymir has been waiting for 2000, seriously tho I can’t imagine waiting for 2 years for this scene to be animated it takes real dedication
6:15 to 6:30 is the Season 2 ED. Also, this episode was foreshadowed 9 years ago in episode 25 of season 1. That was an Anime Original ending. It did not happen in the manga.
so true my guy, having read the manga yet i got chills with Eren's wifi to the Eldians and some of the shots of Rumbling
This episode went by so fast, I was like “have we even got a half way through card?” And when I looked it was 17 minutes and I was like “HOW?” Lol
ymir fritz backstory is just purely a dark story of humanity, damn... that's rough to watch it
After part 1 I was so afraid of how this moment would look like, so far, the rumbling hasnt let me down, lets hope the quality continues or gets even better.
Tatake we keep moving forward that's all we gotta do. I'm in love with this episode... it was beautifully animated some of the scenes got me in awe... attack on titan always come through for me on Sundays
Bro I just realized the first episode of the entire series season 1 is called:
To You, In 2000 Years.
And this episode is called:
From You, 2000 Years Ago.
this episode was crazy bro...your reactions are great, keep it up man
Here’s my theory on the pathogenic parasite: if you look back to season 2 op 1 it shows markings inside of every eldians body, might be bc of the parasite marking its host, then I recalled pathogens existing during the ages of dinosaurs then realized dinosaurs were in OP 1 and the parasite seemed to make Large dinosaurs and other creatures their host making the pathogen grow, after it grew it most likely detached from its aged host and some how got inside that weird tree, left their it manifested the ability for its future host to become somewhat largely mutated or something, what we know as a titan, also explaining why ymirs titan form looked strange.
That’s fucking insane
Crazy
Thank you for the information
I have waited so long for this few chapters to be animated. Mappa truly nailed it with their adaptation. Also Yuki Kaji's voice acting is insane in this episode man.
eren who grabs ymir from behind as if he was hugging her and telling her to become free, what she wanted since then, that someone opens her mind, for the first time we see her eyes and she cries, this was really emotional
Ivory fell asleep again lmfao
"there is no way they can out do the last episode right?"
Darling you don't know what is possible
This series is just a masterpiece of metaphors. How the titans sealed in the walls symbolize defense and now they turns into weapon.
The voice actor for Eren went crazyyyy!!! (In a good way) 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I know it's a week late, but just wanna point out that they had wiped out all the pure titans on the island back at the end of season 3. The walls only served the purpose of protecting them from outside threats at this point in the series.
Zeke just casually introduced our earliest threat back into the series with his scream. Even with the walls, it wouldn't have mattered cause they were already inside lol
This episode was good but I can’t wait for the next episode because that’s gonna be great.
Yeah
Each of the nine trains carries on a trait from Ymir and her Titan, the Attack Titan is the manifestation of her will for freedom
Yeah it ALL makes sense
wow
Wtf is the cart Titan meant to mean
S4 eren: we're going to kill them all
S1 eren: all the titans, right? 😄

That's not "manipulation" but sympathizing and understanding her and giving the hug she needed and finally freed her.
Hope you are ok
IVORY: "Eren again with the manipulation!"
Eren: Hold my heart.
Anyone knows what happened to him ? I mean it's unusual it's been more than 24 hours and he haven't uploaded yet .
We gotta praise MAPPA for the incredible season we have so far. Their animation have been the best.
The worm is called hallugenia, it was found by the community as a species which originated from the Cambrian period
The thing that attached it self to Founder Ymir looks to be a mutated Hallucigenia: A extinct water worm
“There’s no way they could top last episode right?”
Everyone who’s been waiting for this for years now: 😏😏😏
Ivory I think you missed the point… Eren did not manipulate her, if you remember the interaction between Mikasa and Eren, He said “I hate people who are slaves who are not free ” (something like that) meaning he wants them to be free, that’s why eren was angry when his father and the kids under the church… Eren knew that Ymir was a slave and was making Titans because of her trauma with the king, so he had a plan to end up with Ymir by touching his brother. Correct me if I’m wrong
the bloody flower that Ymir saw while laying on the ground is the same Eren saw in his dream in ep 1
Oh yeah I just realised that
I like how the worm or whatever that is is just described as "something" to which all these power originated from and we won't know how that actually makes sense.
WAITED A WHOLE YEAR FOR THIS, dope video as always 🤙
BROOO THIS EPISODE WAS INSANE 🔥🔥🔥
13:55 there are no more normal titans anymore, they have all been exterminated.
My man forgot to wake up
For the past 4 years they have kept titans off the island of Paradis; All were killed.
Eren:to people of the people who are not in the island is fucked
I think its ironic that Zeke was telling her to kill all Eldians and this would have presumably set her free, since her mission was to keep Eldia strong and alive. Keeping her in the paths for all of eternity.
While Eren was telling her to choose revenge over freedom, because her revenge meant his own freedom, but not hers.
Only because Zeke was trying to force her to kill all Elidans, did she not listen to him. It was because Eren was the first person to ever give her a choice that she chose revenge over freedom.
@@ozwellespencer955 she made her choice tho. She was a slave for almost her entire life and never made a choice based on her own will. Eren was the first person in 2000 years to finally set her free in a way. Choose to stay in paths and create titans for eternity or just end it all. That’s why she was crying. To her that was true freedom.
@@ozwellespencer955 it doesn’t matter if it was 100% freedom or not. To her that’s true freedom regardless what anyone else says. She made her own decision for herself and eren gave her the right to do it.
At the end of the day she finally became free and so did eren eventually.
@@daryeusford9696 Ok i have a very long and complicated opinion about the situation and i don't want to waste your time or my time so...
i understand that scene i'm just saddened at the fact that people think eren's quest for "Freedom" is such a righteous and great cause and this side of his mentality to be inherited/adopted
just frightening for me
@@ozwellespencer955 I think his journey to freedom is complicated and tragic. That’s why despite the shit he’s done, I’ll always see him as a tragic well written character.
@@ozwellespencer955 Agree. Some may see him as a hero and others may see him as a villain, but to me he’s just gray. He’s neither black or white, but he’s capable of both good and evil just like any other person.
in norse mythology theres a giant called aurgelmir or also known as ymir and when he was defeated his body was used to create earth so i think his spine/nervous system was the thing we saw in the tree

and yggdrasil is the tree that connects the nine realms so it could be a reference to the 9 titans
I truly appreciate the hard work MAPPA is doing to animate this season but I can only wonder how much better WIT would have looked. Shoutout mappa fr tho sucks how things turned out with the publisher
if wit would have adapted it
then no anime season could have defeated aot s4
but also if mappa was given enough time i guess they could have pulled it off too.
however what we are getting is really damn good
I dont think WIT could have pulled it off much better really. As far as I know the reason WIT passed on this season was because the schedule was much tighter than in the other ones, so they wouldn't have been able to make it. Thats also the reason no other studio wanted to take it. What MAPPA has acomplished with the time they were given has been incredible
@@LD1E60 Yeah that’s what I was saying. It sucks that WIT wasn’t given the time that they needed. Kodansha wanted an impossible deadline so huge praise to MAPPA for even attempting it. I was just imagining what could’ve been lol I read it already so I could’ve waiting as long as it took honestly
