📌Which is BEST for your Home Gym | Rep Athena FT or Selectorized Lat Pull Down Power Rack Attachment
    #homegym #budgethomegym #repfitnessequipment
Athena Selectorized Side Mount Functional Trainer
The Athena Selectorized Side-Mount Functional Trainer is a low-profile cable attachment that integrates into the side of your PR-4000 or PR-5000 series power rack. Get the functionality of a functional trainer machine so you can build your upper body and get in accessory and isolation work, without needing space for a stand-alone unit. In addition, it provides a lower price point (and smaller footprint) than the Ares Attachment, which includes a lat pulldown and low row. The Athena features a 2:1 pulley ratio, which means 20lbs feels like 10lbs. Each stack weighs 170lbs per side (feels like 85lbs) with the option to upgrade each stack to 220lbs (feels like 110lbs). It features hot-rolled steel plates with a 3% tolerance and a magnetic pin for quick and easy weight changes. Add bands to the integrated band pegs on the base and headplate for added resistance up to a max of 540lbs. The Athena gives you the freedom to customize your rack’s functionality by choosing either a left, right, or dual-sided setup.
    Weight 258lbs (per unit)
    Weight Stack 170lbs
    Pulley Ratio 2:1
Cable Weight Capacity 540lbs (per side)
    Cable Travel 106” (93” rack) or 82.8” (80” rack)
    Added Height 1.8”
    Added Width 3.7" (PR-4000) or 5.0” (PR-5000)
Added Depth 6.0” (Front of Rack)
    Ares Cable Attachment
    .
Lat Pull Down and Low Row Selectorized Attachment
Build out your power rack with the Selectorized Lat Pulldown and Low Row. This pulley system is compatible with 4000 and 5000 series racks and brings the functionality of cable movements to your set-up. Great for building your back, this attachment can also be used for curls, belt squats, tricep work, and so much more. The system features a 200lbs weight stack with 1:1 ratio, meaning 10lbs feels like 10lbs. The weight stack also features band pegs to add additional resistance and the weight stack can be upgraded to 300lbs . Quickly move between 10lbs weight increments with the magnetic pin.
The attachment comes with a matte black powder-coated lat pulldown bar and low row bar and is also compatible with a wide variety of our cable attachments. The tread foot plate is adjustable through an integrated pop-pin system for bracing against during low rows. The cables are high quality, made from galvanized wire with a raw steel core, and the pulleys are aluminum. Bring the functionality of traditional commercial equipment into your home gym! Note: This attachment requires the Rear Base Stabilizer, which serves as the anchor point to the rack.
    • Upgradeable Weight Stack
The 200lbs weight stack operates at a 1:1 ratio which means that 10lbs feels like 10lbs. The stack can be upgraded to 300lbs.

    Tread Plate
The Selectorized Lat Pulldown & Low Row comes with a foot plate to help brace movements

Hi, I just got a Rep Fitness PR4000 30+16 and tried incline and shoulder for first time today. I'm 6'4 and 260lb and not the widest guy but I felt my elbows hitting the safeties. I'm not sure I like it. I've heard others like to bench and shoulder outside the rack with spotter arms and curious your opinion? At my gym I never used spotters for bench and shoulder so not sure why I am here. I like the DC training method which is 8-10 reps rest 25 secs 4-6 reps rest and 1-3. Since weight isn't near 1 rep max not sure I need all the safeties never used them before.

    • @NoFate247
      @NoFate247  Рік тому +1

Always use safeties, regardless of the weight. You never know when something might blow out and you don't want that weight crashing down on you. As far as hitting your elbows, that's surprising, but you are probably wider than you give yourself credit for. Are you placing the safeties correctly and which safeties do you have? You can workout outside your power rack with safeties arms but I'd always try to stay inside when possible. Also, if you used my link to buy your PR let me know so I can send you a thank you gift.

You will find lateral raises a bit of a problem too on the pull down low row. Also the lat pull down will be 6-9 inches behind your uprights where as the athena fits inside your uprights. I think the Athena is the better option of the two because your biggest cons for pulldowns (the angle of pull and not being able to secure yourself down) could be simply mitigated by combining both stacks and sitting between the uprights. You could use something like the Darko Lifting Longy Bar or even something like the double hook straight bar from Bells of Steel to connect both pulleys, then use leg rollers on the front uprights to secure yourself down like you would doing pulldowns on an Ares. Plus, combing the two stacks would allow you to go heavier without having to use a gym pin/bands as much. Clear winner imo

Hello Jonathan, I spoke with Marcus earlier from twisted barbell and ask him if he was able to do front and side lateral raises with his low row and he said no. Would you be able to tell if they are possible to do with athena side Mount setup?

I definitely want to be able to do lat pulldowns/low rows. Ares is an option but I am liking the Athena for a few different reasons. Yes please send code I am buying this weekend after I decide.

I see what your saying now...if I do both Athena and rear lat/row skip both and get Ares cause it's all in one. That actually makes sense.
I am leaning Athena so I can keep rear of rack empty and Athena I can still do lat pulldowns/low rows.
