These last two RUFs have been awesome vids, especially "Yellowbird". Everything about it is awesome, brilliant. Everything, down to the sound of the name, "RUF" is absolutely wicked! Revving & Ready to go!!

This is just beautiful, the excitement, sound and looks of a classic sportscar, but with the performance and reliability of a modern car. Well done RUF! And thanks AutoTopNL for letting us experience it!
I happened to be in Geneva when Ruf unveiled this masterpiece. Still not a huge fan of the rear lights, but the design in general and the details, and engineering is something out of this world. Ruf truly is something else in this crazy world.
I think that’s just personal preference because everything about the rear to me is perfect
I agree. I'd have asked them for a full LED taillight following the original design.
basically a gt3 engine in a small aircooled body....this is all i want in one car. Lucky who gets to enjoy this day-to-day. Heavenly

@@Daveargasinski nah..i´m talking 991.2 4.0 L engine in a 964 carrera rs kinda thing, but with a modern twist and engineering minus the fuss with an old 964. Ruf made it possible with the SCR. I´m as far from having the oppertunities to buy this car as the distance between the earth and the sun, but a young man can dream..and this right here would be my dream porsche build to go about in for the rest of my life. Simply amazing...
This is a carbon tub with pushrod / double wishbone suspension. Completely different beast to an old Porsche 911, its just been made to look like one 😉
Not so easy to create engine witch such a quick throttle response and such a big displacement in only 6 cylinders.
Excellent construction, i prefer it much more than turbo version.

Me too. It’s more impressive and oldschool without the Turbos…
that's the whole point of flat six engines: short stroke, big bore, high RPM, that's the only way to fit 4.0 liters. Boxers are a lot more compact than straight six.
add direct injection and ITB and you basically have a racing engine. 4.0L to 4.3L seems to be the reasonable limit for big bore flat six, until someone makes connecting rods and pistons out of vibranium.
This engine sounds better than everything on the market today. Sounds so retro and glorious at the same time 🤩🔥
Beautiful! Love that engine characteristic too. Pulls very strongly from ~4k rpm already, and seems to have a pretty flat torque curve - no nasty peaks or drops anywhere.

i just love the change in tone and engine noise after about 4k rpms, before 4k you can hear the intake noises very clearly, but after 4k it's just raw screaming exhaust noise.

470NM from a 4L naturally aspirated engine is REALLY good, the engine must be optimized as hell.

The engine sound everybody is dreaming of, but only a few have. It's just a pure naturally aspirated engine. With a turbo, it would sound like crap again. The engine must be compressed to the absolute maximum. A dream of an engine

@@Freimopp777 did not Google to verify what they called it, but Ruf makes/made? a small displacement, high revving, low torque V8. When Max rev bombs it at the start, one can see the exhaust tips move like their attached to a V8. Could be wrong on which model it is. But they did make one, the ancillaries on it were not belt driven. Dunno how many were made, or if they still make that engine.
