hookup your power commander to change the maps, this tune could be the issue. if you have the exhaust and its not tuned then yes it would backfire like this.

I have 2013 yfz450r and I have a hmf competition exhaust slip on ( just like this one but yours is full exhaust) and the filter on my exhaust fall off all the inside pillow inside the exhaust came out I don't know why do you have the same problem or just me?
You do realize you have to repack your exhaust every 15 hours or so. The stuff falling out was your packing not a pillow. You will ruin an exhaust if you don’t ever repack it
I'm almost willing to bet it only does it when you rev the engine in neutral you're just overloaded the exhaust with gas all 450s new stock modded they all do it.
My yfz450 back fires better. Idk if I know how to do it better or what but the blue flame you can see more on mine. I don't try to show it to often tho. I have hmf too. Love the brand. I just out in a recluse clutch 😍
Motor running lean causes back fireing I just put a fmf exhaust on mine and it ran lean added fuel theoughout the whole rpm rangs and it runs fine with no backfire

+Diondra Hayes got it from ebay .came with all these that this link has. includes the hmf efi controller with the preloaded map on it so you wont need a computer to program it. like you would on the power commander. .you will need this if installing a full exhaust or the power commander and also comes with a uni air filter.
I wouldn't trust anything but a powercommander on a fuel injected quad it's a much more refined product. A preloaded tune won't constantly adjust the fuel mapping like a powercommander will. I used to work in the service dept of a Yamaha dealership. Once you get one you'll be amazed at how it'll waken up your quad even more than it already is!

I had the same problem. It was because the gasket on the head to the header was leaking. I replaced it and it stopped

I bought the kit from HMF.....exhaust, air filter & jets. Jetting the carb made the difference on mine, but it’s yours.....do what you want. 🤪

mine has held up good so far. i only take this quad out once a month though and had it for not even a year yet.no issues so far though.
Motoworks makes a killer exhaust for these things as well that's what I have on mine and her bark is loud and crisp.

It’s at the bottom of your carb on the right side of your quad. It’s a little screw and you should see it has numbers on it.
