Tbh, from the first time I watched that cinematic, I didn't feel like Bolvar's intentions were 100% pure. It was as if I could hear him saying "No Tirion, it is me who must take this 'unfortunate' position of never-ending power and the ability to rule the word. Please, I only want to do it because I love you" lol. Then, I thought about it more, and the other expansions came out in which Bolvar did nothing, so I thought "Well, I guess first impression was wrong." And then, Legion happens.
Not nothing exactly :) if you go through Western Plaguelands Tirion is doing stuff. Canonically, the Plaguelands are mostly cleansed now. In addition, he re-discovered Tyr’s tomb and thwarted the Twilight’s Hammer’s efforts to obtain Xal’atath and the Silver Hand. Before his death, he re-formed the Order of the Silver Hand. In the end, death comes for us all. But few deaths could be as consequential as Tirion’s. Our thirst to vanquish Croesus and Gul’dan gave the Nightbourne their freedom, and allowed Illidan’s plans to finally come to fruition.
At some point someone is gonna start shipping Nobbel and The Wrathgate cinematic. I swear with all the love he has for that, i wager it wont be long before the ship is sailing

I think the Title was missleading, since you didn't actually cover the Citadel itself and why it is build out of Saronite (Yogg Sarons Blood) and what effects that has on everything in Icecrown. What about the exterior and interior of the Citadel? Does it have any strategic/lore meaning? This was more like "The Shortstory of the Lich King" and not "The Story of Icecrown Citadel".

Arthas got rid of Nerzul? No, There are distinct dialog where the Lich King says "I was once a shaman" Unless Arthas was training under Thrall to be the first human shaman. He also exclaims "Father is it over?" when he is defeated suggesting he was not in control.
3:00 Wasn't the Icecrown Citadel only built right before the War Against the Lich King in Wrath? If I recall correctly, before LichKing!Arthas awoke, Icecrown was just that massive glacial spire with the Frozen Throne at the top.
I think Some small parts where probbaly build at time of wc3 like the wall at edge of icecrown zone , but during then till his awaking it got build,else bosses wouldnt have their own specilaized areas like putricides pipes + time to make the gas and slime. Thats just what i think of it
I believe Icecrown, the glacier, was just standing there. I mean, if you play The Frozen Throne, it's on the opening screen. I forget where I read that, but the whole lake around the glacier was drained down because there was a huge collection of Saronite, which was harvested (and still is by hte time of WotLK) and used to build all these walls, turning Icecrown from a glacier, to a fortress. If you go to Marrowgar and look up, that's the glacier, there.
I think you're mistaken. It came out at the same time as the Lich King in the same expansion. It didn't exist before WotLK came out, the land mass wasn't even on the server.

The whole Northrend Story, bosses, things they did in Icecrown (and Naxxramas) were always storys I liked alot. Very creepy and dark, but also greatly written as things you really want to bring down...

Cool video. A lot of it was a retread of the three hour Lich King video. So I am very familiar, since I watched the other video already. It is fine with me. The story of Arthas is really cool. It is interesting to see how he fell from a good paladin to a bad lich king.
The Curse of Flesh makes those those who are effected by it susceptible to the Old Gods influence but add the Curse of Undeath into the equation and the Old Gods are powerless to defeat the Mind of the Lich King. The Lich King might just be one of the strongest beings capable of fighting the Void.

Whoever puts the helm of domination on is forever sealed inside the helm. Ner'Zhul and Arthas never died, their spirits are still trapped inside the helm but have lost the ability to command the scourge. You can hear their combined voices in Bolvar's own voice.
Drfate 786 Not true. When Arthas fell, Sylvanas felt she had done what her unlife's purpose was, and threw herself from Icecrown. She fell, and eventually struck the frozen ground, dying instantly. She thought she could finally feel the release and rest of Death, but found herself in The Void, Warcraft's version of Hell. In the darkness and pain, she heard Arthas there too...speaking in his voice as a little one...a terrified child suffering forever. Her deal with the Valkyr saves her as one of them takes her place in eternal torment. Also, there was a time after The Frozen Throne expansion from Warcraft 3, but before Wrath of the Lich King in WoW, where Arthas communes with Nerzul and a child (yet again) who was all that was left of Arthas' humanity. Arthas destroys both because he wants to share his power with no one else. Now, perhaps a REMNANT of the soul of Arthas, and perhaps a REMNANT of the soul of Nerzul, are still in the Crown that the new Lich King wears to hold back The Scourge. MAYBE. But a tiny broken piece of them isn't them, just as a torn piece of cloth is not the same as the full article of clothing they were ripped from. They are an echo, at best. Nothing more.

It has to do with the fact the Valkyire can no longer provide a perfect body when they no longer have the power of the Lich King. Therefor the vessels they create are like the Undead you see. Probably they just throw togheter flesh in a humanoid like fashion that requires the least amount of power.
The Forsaken, that are risen in what was Lordaeron, a human realm; they should all be humans - I am quite sure the Highborne never ventured that far west in Lordaeron.
Well I can understand the whole Forsaken part but now we have way more corpses and dead which go through "Resurrection" process even when we create a new undead, and since there has been a lot of fights with various races the forsaken shouldn't be restricted only to Human-body alike. Olve N that is understandable but why only human specific build instead of for example other humanoids like orcs, trolls or even elfs? They all seem human alike and died in the lore in a lot of places as now Sylvanas raises any humanoid alike yet we can only see them in human form really which kind of sucks. Blizzard being lazy or is there any other theory behind this because it just seems strange that she picks up humans only, not even talking about "playable race" but in general. The starting area for undead is a human graveyard. Its as simple as that. Blizz just haven't bothered even looking into it. The day they make other races for undead in wow is the day they will get tons of crys about sub races in other races. Its no different than not being able to be a brown orc. Not all orcs are green. Theres no difference. Its just lazy blizz. If it ever happens they will change the starting area of the undead i would assume.
I very much hope so that it will happen one day, maybe not make all races suddenly playable in undead form or all orc skin colours from various clans playable but I hope they will give at least some variation. It could be a big step up for another expansion for example similar to model update they did in WoD without having to create another separate race, but I guess Blizz will be Blizz :D

I seen on some fan sites that they think this is what the lich king wanted all the hero's gone and this is his chance it invade, the other voiced in his helm corrupt him telling him that he will be next since the Legion gave him his power, on the other end I seen where the Legion was beating both the factions and the Savanah wind runner, tells her people to hold the line and she will be back, takes a portal to ICC and tell the lich king they need her help, he tells her he's help all he can, she tells him no you haven't we need your undead! We need the scourge, he gets mad and tells her to leave this affair don't involve him, before she teleports out she looks at him and said "what are you going to do when they come and take their powers back, maybe I'll come back here and resurrect you to follow me" this angers him tells her this power is his not theirs she grins, as you say lich king, he tells her he will send his answer within 2 days, she leaves and it worse than she though both side troops are beaten back to their last strong holds a stone throw away from each other because they want to keep an eye on each other. That night in the war room wind runner hears a yelling coming from outside the door, the guards keep yelling "you can't go in their" she goes to the door and opens it and sees a unknown death knight holding a parchment she takes it he turns around and leaves, she closes the door opens it and smiles, when asked what it said she tells the others in the war room they will find out in due time, the next day at high noon during the battle she climbs the wall and with the blow of a horn signal a retreat, the alliance does the same, she looks through her eye scope and sees the young king on the alliance wall, he looks over at her and nods his head, she can see graymane throwing a fit and the young king shaking his head, savanna smiles "put your dog in his place" the new Legion LT. Thinks he won, he bellows to the keeps "do you finally surrender to the power of the Legion"? Savanna yells back "yes give us til noon, for us to tell the rest of our troops then we will open the keep and lay down our arms" the Legion LT blinded by his victory smiles, "Nothing can stop the Legion" the horde keep is silent she turns to her people and tells them to rest, tomorrow is going to be the day we push them back, many questions are called out "how, we lost so many", " we need more person, they keep coming" she smiles and said we have a new ally coming the horde will not die today or tomorrow" cheers cry throughout the keep, the next as noon gets closer she climbs the wall, and sees double the amount of Legion demons than the day before she tells her people to ready for battle, her people cry out the sound of war drums fill the air, the Legion LT bellow out "the time is near open your gates and let the ones that want to beg for their lives come forward" laughing heavily, savanna said it's not noon yet, wondering if the lich king will make good on his word. Five mins later a snow flake lands on the back of her hand, a cold breeze waves her hair and she knows her answer. Suddenly portals open up between the two strong holds out comes the lich king "he looks the Legion LT, "you want the scurge you will have them! Scurge ATTACK!!! The Legion does not control them I do and you will not take my power" scurge flood the battle field both gates open up and troops fill in among the ranks of the scurge pushing back the Legion, savanna smiles "this marks a new day" but an ally I don't fully trust yet". I know I left alot out but still I was hoping that it would be a actual patch
@Nobbel, can you imagine if they redid the Wrathgate Cinematic with current technology and models? With the same cinematic finese as the Thrall vs Garrosh fight, or Varians Death...Just imagine it, Nobbel.
Death knights have been given one hell of a shakedown when bolvar was became the new lich king he said he will be the "jailer of the damned" which would mean he would keep the scourge contained so when dks begin leigon and agree to become his arms all in the name of keeping the scourge contained its kinda like a prison warden saying "hey help me out and ill keep my single minded ravenous prisoners in check".
with what happens currently in legion with bolvar the lich king and his very aggressive way of talking to tirion. maybe we were too late. maybe bolvar was turned, but he was smart enough to not directly attack us but taking his time, getting used to be the new lich king like arthas and now slowly turning the death knights into his tools. Forget about Sylvanas, Bolvar is the one who sits on top of a huge pile of old god blood for years !
King Terenas had to be quite strong to resist Frostmourne to speak with LK and even after death resurrect us :) Maybe visions from Yogg Sarone was not about Arthas but about Bolvar?
One thing that I have never understood, and maybe someone here in the comments can help me out: Why does the Bolvar tell the Knights of the Ebon Blade that he will keep the Scourge confined to Northrend as part of their bargain? Wasn't that already the reason he took on the Helm of Domination to begin with? I'm quite confused here. Is he making a threat against the world, essentially? "If you join forces with me to take down the Legion, I will not turn the Scourge loose upon the world!" Or is it a promise of not rejoining with his old creators? "I will stand with Azeroth... if you stand with me?" Did I miss something? Could someone help clarify this for me? It seems so redundant, unless Bolvar is setting up for a dark plan in the future, and the Knights of the Ebon Blade are pawns in his game.
In the first place, he took the helm of domination since the scourge would be a bigger threat if they were left unchecked. A promise which at the time was only given to Tirion Fordring. But given the fact that there were echoes of both Arthas and Ner'zhul in Frostmourne, what kind of craziness could be locked in the Helm of Domination. Sure Arthas seemed to get rid of Ner'zhul, but how do we know that he didn't just go into the background knowing that he couldn't win (yet)? He is also mostly left to himself controlling an entire army of mindless creatures, (and perhaps with contact to a few intelligent scourge agents) which could easily turn someone mad. Plus he's in Northrend and located near a place where they mine the blood of Yog'Saron. (The citadel being built entirely of it) TL;DR: There are numerous factors that could mess with his head. So it is entirely possible that the Bolvar we interact with today is in no way the same Bolvar as when he put on the helmet. He might be more 'Lich King' rather than 'Jailor of the Scourge' now
Maybe it was just meant to be a reminder to the players, or Blizzard forgot what Bolvar said in Wrath. I mean Bolvar ALSO told Tirion that no one should know about what happened that day, and that he should tell everyone that the Lich King and Bolvar Fordring are both dead for the sake of saving everyone from living in fear, but then Tirion goes and builds a fountain in the middle of Dalaran with a plaque that let's you watch that cinematic.... which is effectively telling everyone in Dalaran that the Lich King is not dead, just replaced. Blizzard does what Blizzard do, there's no reasoning behind it.
Ragtter You don't remain your whole self when becoming the Lich King. You retain memories and feelings, but even Frostmourne gained the memories of its victims. Bolvar, just like Arthas can fight, but only just. It was what little humanity remained as Arthas that kept the Scourge from winning. If it wasn't for that tiny bit of control Arthas had, the Scourge would've easily mowed down Azeroth. As was mentioned by Tirion and Jaina and whatnot. Bolvar can't keep to his promise forever, because Bolvar is barely there. That's the Lich King. He's everything else ever had that helmet, and the objective of a give mind universe where life is non-existent. The Lich King will only play on a promise he made as Bolvar for as long as it suits him , and as long as Bolvar can fight. The Lich King needs this alliance between him and the Ebon Blade. For all the millions of reason he could need that alliance, one thing is certain. He isn't afraid to threaten breaking that promise early to get what he needs. In short: That is barely Bolvar anymore. That promise means little to nothing.
Fuck, what a story! Since I quit playing WoW at the end of MoP I never saw that Bolvar re-entered the stage again. So cool to see this great character showed up again. I always thought that he must live a lonely (un-)life up there. Nice to know he's getting some visitors from time to time.

I remember going into ICC on the first day it came out and our guild had been clearing HTOC for a long time, it took forever to get to and when we did he completly 2 shot our full heroic TOC geared tank and it was like that on pmuch all bosses expect saurfang he would chunk 80% of your health on 25 normal so you had to stack rshammys to main heal tanks only and druids to raid heal the rest of the group

Arthas got rid of Nerzul? No, There are distinct dialog where the Lich King says "I was once a shaman" Unless Arthas was training under Thrall to be the first human shaman. He also exclaims "Father is it over?" when he is defeated suggesting he was not in control.

3:00 Wasn't the Icecrown Citadel only built right before the War Against the Lich King in Wrath? If I recall correctly, before LichKing!Arthas awoke, Icecrown was just that massive glacial spire with the Frozen Throne at the top.
I think Some small parts where probbaly build at time of wc3 like the wall at edge of icecrown zone , but during then till his awaking it got build,else bosses wouldnt have their own specilaized areas like putricides pipes + time to make the gas and slime. Thats just what i think of it
I believe Icecrown, the glacier, was just standing there. I mean, if you play The Frozen Throne, it's on the opening screen. I forget where I read that, but the whole lake around the glacier was drained down because there was a huge collection of Saronite, which was harvested (and still is by hte time of WotLK) and used to build all these walls, turning Icecrown from a glacier, to a fortress. If you go to Marrowgar and look up, that's the glacier, there.
I think you're mistaken. It came out at the same time as the Lich King in the same expansion. It didn't exist before WotLK came out, the land mass wasn't even on the server.

Say that maybe attacking lightshope chapel and abducting the worlds most beloved paladin to rise as an undead and then turn him into one of the four horsemen is nothing to be concerned about, heck it's a really good idea and now that I think of it I came up with it and not someone else.....what was I saying? The whole Northrend Story, bosses, things they did in Icecrown (and Naxxramas) were always storys I liked alot.

Cool video. A lot of it was a retread of the three hour Lich King video. So I am very familiar, since I watched the other video already. It is fine with me. The story of Arthas is really cool. It is interesting to see how he fell from a good paladin to a bad lich king.

The Curse of Flesh makes those those who are effected by it susceptible to the Old Gods influence but add the Curse of Undeath into the equation and the Old Gods are powerless to defeat the Mind of the Lich King.

Whoever puts the helm of domination on is forever sealed inside the helm. Ner'Zhul and Arthas never died, their spirits are still trapped inside the helm but have lost the ability to command the scourge. You can hear their combined voices in Bolvar's own voice.

Not true. When Arthas fell, Sylvanas felt she had done what her unlife's purpose was, and threw herself from Icecrown. She fell, and eventually struck the frozen ground, dying instantly. She thought she could finally feel the release and rest of Death, but found herself in The Void, Warcraft's version of Hell. In the darkness and pain, she heard Arthas there too...speaking in his voice as a little one...a terrified child suffering forever. Her deal with the Valkyr saves her as one of them takes her place in eternal torment.
Also, there was a time after The Frozen Throne expansion from Warcraft 3, but before Wrath of the Lich King in WoW, where Arthas communes with Nerzul and a child (yet again) who was all that was left of Arthas' humanity. Arthas destroys both because he wants to share his power with no one else.
Now, perhaps a REMNANT of the soul of Arthas, and perhaps a REMNANT of the soul of Nerzul, are still in the Crown that the new Lich King wears to hold back The Scourge. MAYBE. But a tiny broken piece of them isn't them, just as a torn piece of cloth is not the same as the full article of clothing they were ripped from. They are an echo, at best. Nothing more.

Watching the stream on the Lord Marrowgar fight was pretty interactive I learned don't get bone spiked as a paladin if you're gonna get spiked.
The cinematic with the horde and alliance brought me hope that they could one day work together... meh ruined by the forsaken.
Yogg taking control of the linch king through his blood sounds like it would've been an interesting idea if it was expanded on more, but that's just me.

Yo Nobbel - could you do lore and/or description why the Undead that are playable and are visible everywhere ( the Forsaken exactly ) are only human corpses and not any other race? Regards!
It has to do with the fact the Valkyire can no longer provide a perfect body when they no longer have the power of the Lich King. Therefor the vessels they create are like the Undead you see. Probably they just throw togheter flesh in a humanoid like fashion that requires the least amount of power.
The Forsaken, that are risen in what was Lordaeron, a human realm; they should all be humans - I am quite sure the Highborne never ventured that far west in Lordaeron.
Well I can understand the whole Forsaken part but now we have way more corpses and dead which go through "Resurrection" process even when we create a new undead, and since there has been a lot of fights with various races the forsaken shouldn't be restricted only to Human-body alike. Olve N that is understandable but why only human specific build instead of for example other humanoids like orcs, trolls or even elfs? They all seem human alike and died in the lore in a lot of places as now Sylvanas raises any humanoid alike yet we can only see them in human form really which kind of sucks. Blizzard being lazy or is there any other theory behind this because it just seems strange that she picks up humans only, not even talking about "playable race" but in general. The starting area for undead is a human graveyard. Its as simple as that. Blizz just haven't bothered even looking into it. The day they make other races for undead in wow is the day they will get tons of crys about sub races in other races. Its no different than not being able to be a brown orc. Not all orcs are green. Theres no difference. Its just lazy blizz. If it ever happens they will change the starting area of the undead i would assume.
I very much hope so that it will happen one day, maybe not make all races suddenly playable in undead form or all orc skin colours from various clans playable but I hope they will give at least some variation. It could be a big step up for another expansion for example similar to model update they did in WoD without having to create another separate race, but I guess Blizz will be Blizz :D
I have seen the cinematic for the assualt on ice crown with bolvar and the horde guy probably over 20 times....i still get chills watching it!!!! In my opinion it is the BEST cutscene to date

I seen on some fan sites that they think this is what the lich king wanted all the hero's gone and this is his chance it invade, the other voiced in his helm corrupt him telling him that he will be next since the Legion gave him his power, on the other end I seen where the Legion was beating both the factions and the Savanah wind runner, tells her people to hold the line and she will be back, takes a portal to ICC and tell the lich king they need her help, he tells her he's help all he can, she tells him no you haven't we need your undead! We need the scourge, he gets mad and tells her to leave this affair don't involve him, before she teleports out she looks at him and said "what are you going to do when they come and take their powers back, maybe I'll come back here and resurrect you to follow me" this angers him tells her this power is his not theirs she grins, as you say lich king, he tells her he will send his answer within 2 days, she leaves and it worse than she though both side troops are beaten back to their last strong holds a stone throw away from each other because they want to keep an eye on each other. That night in the war room wind runner hears a yelling coming from outside the door, the guards keep yelling "you can't go in their" she goes to the door and opens it and sees a unknown death knight holding a parchment she takes it he turns around and leaves, she closes the door opens it and smiles, when asked what it said she tells the others in the war room they will find out in due time, the next day at high noon during the battle she climbs the wall and with the blow of a horn signal a retreat, the alliance does the same, she looks through her eye scope and sees the young king on the alliance wall, he looks over at her and nods his head, she can see graymane throwing a fit and the young king shaking his head, savanna smiles "put your dog in his place" the new Legion LT. Thinks he won, he bellows to the keeps "do you finally surrender to the power of the Legion"? Savanna yells back "yes give us til noon, for us to tell the rest of our troops then we will open the keep and lay down our arms" the Legion LT blinded by his victory smiles, "Nothing can stop the Legion" the horde keep is silent she turns to her people and tells them to rest, tomorrow is going to be the day we push them back, many questions are called out "how, we lost so many", " we need more person, they keep coming" she smiles and said we have a new ally coming the horde will not die today or tomorrow" cheers cry throughout the keep, the next as noon gets closer she climbs the wall, and sees double the amount of Legion demons than the day before she tells her people to ready for battle, her people cry out the sound of war drums fill the air, the Legion LT bellow out "the time is near open your gates and let the ones that want to beg for their lives come forward" laughing heavily, savanna said it's not noon yet, wondering if the lich king will make good on his word. Five mins later a snow flake lands on the back of her hand, a cold breeze waves her hair and she knows her answer. Suddenly portals open up between the two strong holds out comes the lich king "he looks the Legion LT, "you want the scurge you will have them! Scurge ATTACK!!! The Legion does not control them I do and you will not take my power" scurge flood the battle field both gates open up and troops fill in among the ranks of the scurge pushing back the Legion, savanna smiles "this marks a new day" but an ally I don't fully trust yet". I know I left alot out but still I was hoping that it would be a actual patch
If I knew Tirion would die like that in Legion I would've wanted Tirion to be the Lich King.

@Nobbel, can you imagine if they redid the Wrathgate Cinematic with current technology and models? With the same cinematic finese as the Thrall vs Garrosh fight, or Varians Death...Just imagine it, Nobbel.

Death knights have been given one hell of a shakedown when bolvar was became the new lich king he said he will be the "jailer of the damned" which would mean he would keep the scourge contained so when dks begin leigon and agree to become his arms all in the name of keeping the scourge contained its kinda like a prison warden saying "hey help me out and ill keep my single minded ravenous prisoners in check".

with what happens currently in legion with bolvar the lich king and his very aggressive way of talking to tirion. maybe we were too late. maybe bolvar was turned, but he was smart enough to not directly attack us but taking his time, getting used to be the new lich king like arthas and now slowly turning the death knights into his tools. Forget about Sylvanas, Bolvar is the one who sits on top of a huge pile of old god blood for years !

One thing that I have never understood, and maybe someone here in the comments can help me out: Why does the Bolvar tell the Knights of the Ebon Blade that he will keep the Scourge confined to Northrend as part of their bargain? Wasn't that already the reason he took on the Helm of Domination to begin with? I'm quite confused here. Is he making a threat against the world, essentially? "If you join forces with me to take down the Legion, I will not turn the Scourge loose upon the world!" Or is it a promise of not rejoining with his old creators? "I will stand with Azeroth... if you stand with me?"
Did I miss something? Could someone help clarify this for me? It seems so redundant, unless Bolvar is setting up for a dark plan in the future, and the Knights of the Ebon Blade are pawns in his game.
Ragtter The theory is that Bolvar has been corrupted by the powers that he has and that he has an ulterior motive with the Ebon Blade.
Ner'zhuls spirit is most likely still at large, never underestimate an orc with a boner for power.
In the first place, he took the helm of domination since the scourge would be a bigger threat if they were left unchecked. A promise which at the time was only given to Tirion Fordring.
But given the fact that there were echoes of both Arthas and Ner'zhul in Frostmourne, what kind of craziness could be locked in the Helm of Domination. Sure Arthas seemed to get rid of Ner'zhul, but how do we know that he didn't just go into the background knowing that he couldn't win (yet)?
He is also mostly left to himself controlling an entire army of mindless creatures, (and perhaps with contact to a few intelligent scourge agents) which could easily turn someone mad. Plus he's in Northrend and located near a place where they mine the blood of Yog'Saron. (The citadel being built entirely of it)
TL;DR: There are numerous factors that could mess with his head. So it is entirely possible that the Bolvar we interact with today is in no way the same Bolvar as when he put on the helmet. He might be more 'Lich King' rather than 'Jailor of the Scourge' now
Maybe it was just meant to be a reminder to the players, or Blizzard forgot what Bolvar said in Wrath. I mean Bolvar ALSO told Tirion that no one should know about what happened that day, and that he should tell everyone that the Lich King and Bolvar Fordring are both dead for the sake of saving everyone from living in fear, but then Tirion goes and builds a fountain in the middle of Dalaran with a plaque that let's you watch that cinematic.... which is effectively telling everyone in Dalaran that the Lich King is not dead, just replaced.
Blizzard does what Blizzard do, there's no reasoning behind it.
Ragtter You don't remain your whole self when becoming the Lich King. You retain memories and feelings, but even Frostmourne gained the memories of its victims. Bolvar, just like Arthas can fight, but only just. It was what little humanity remained as Arthas that kept the Scourge from winning. If it wasn't for that tiny bit of control Arthas had, the Scourge would've easily mowed down Azeroth. As was mentioned by Tirion and Jaina and whatnot.
Bolvar can't keep to his promise forever, because Bolvar is barely there. That's the Lich King. He's everything else ever had that helmet, and the objective of a give mind universe where life is non-existent. The Lich King will only play on a promise he made as Bolvar for as long as it suits him , and as long as Bolvar can fight. The Lich King needs this alliance between him and the Ebon Blade. For all the millions of reason he could need that alliance, one thing is certain. He isn't afraid to threaten breaking that promise early to get what he needs.
In short: That is barely Bolvar anymore. That promise means little to nothing.

Fuck, what a story! Since I quit playing WoW at the end of MoP I never saw that Bolvar re-entered the stage again. So cool to see this great character showed up again. I always thought that he must live a lonely (un-)life up there. Nice to know he's getting some visitors from time to time.

nobbel dont know if you notice yet if you see in the new raid the model of varimatrhas you can see hes been torchered his wings have scars and he have like a collar of iron around his neck i think he has this becouse he betrayed his brothers by killing them and help sylvanas of course his brothers are not dead becouse of the nether but i think no one cared before or notice it thanks for the nice vids keep it up ^^

Wow i missed the idea of sylvanas falling on saronite, old god blood, and how she might've been corrupted by that. Very interesting i wont lie! since old gods look like next expansion! However, if they go that route they better do the same for jaina - however i hope we can save and redeem them both. Both deserve it, not just one or other - as biased as people seem to be. They were my favorite characters in wc3 so i hope we can
I remember going into ICC on the first day it came out and our guild had been clearing HTOC for a long time, it took forever to get to and when we did he completly 2 shot our full heroic TOC geared tank and it was like that on pmuch all bosses expect saurfang he would chunk 80% of your health on 25 normal so you had to stack rshammys to main heal tanks only and druids to raid heal the rest of the group
