  • Hello my name is David and I show you how to carry your stuff to the water.
There are many different methods to get your gear from one place to another. You can carry them individually or together. The method that you choose depends on the size of your gear, your strength level and the path that you need to take.
If your gear is small, you can carry both together by holding the board by the handle in your upwind arm, or putting it on your shoulder, and carrying the wing by the front handle, depowered in your downwind arm. This works particularly well for wide open spaces, like on the sand at the beach, where there is nothing you can snag your gear on.
If your gear is larger, you may need to carry them individually. Carrying the board by the handle with the deck towards you works well for open areas. Carrying the board backwards works well for heavy boards in constricted pathways and carrying the board by one footstrap and the fuselage with your back to the mast works well to spread the load across both of your arms.
When carrying the gear individually make sure to carry the board to the water first, so that you may anchor the wing to the board by the leash in the even that you do not go out right away. This can be done by wrapping the leash around the mast and tying a knot. Making sure it cannot blow away. Or you can thread the bungee around the mast, open the leash cuff, put the leash cuff over the bungee and re-secure the velcro.
Try out all of these methods based on your conditions and comfort level and see what works best for you.
