Mine manifests for loved ones as well as myself. Currently I am worried for my Mom who got tests back for high iron. The doctor isn't worried and wants to test again in 3 months. But I can't accept that so I research. I found out there's a gene for the condition and downloaded my Ancestry "raw data" and plugged it into a 3rd party site. It came back that I have a 70% higher chance of developing a rare and terrible disease I can't even get myself to type. Endless research on reddit and found a lot of geneticists, genetics counselours, etc who say that raw data from ancestry isn't the same as medical grade genetic testing and that there's high error rates. Even if the test would be correct , the math works out that my risk with the 70% higher figured in would be like .47%. SO many reasons not to worry. But I keep thinking "what if.." I don't get bodily sensations or anything, so I'm not sure how this works in my situation.
Yes, that's the problem and worse, it's a snowball effect. It keeps compounding on itself as your body releases more adrenaline as a response to the fear/anxiety.
Hi Dr. Do you also work with people who actually have health issues and have anxiety from the physical manifestations of them? Can CBT work for this as well? Thank you
Dr thank you for your videos. I have a question… what if you are actually going through a health scare.. how does one alleviate health worry then? How does one not obsess over it?
I have done a lot of videos on worry management techniques and you can find them here: Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Worry: ua-cam.com/play/PLG_XiSJeP3s3uiRj-4CNEUn2qoK3mLAzD.html
Health anxiety is like an annoying person who's next to you all day telling you that you're sick.

Another useful video! And the same great voice! Thank you!🧡
Thank you for your kind words.
It’s the physical symptoms and sensations that worries people often even after getting checked out by doctors
It's the interpretation and meaning put on the physical sensations that worry people.
Going to the hospital for attacks every month is really old
Can you talk about Cardiphobia when someone has an actual heart disease or arrythmias and how CBT can help, if at all?
