I'm okay with just about all the voices...but Nagamasa...oh God...
And Masanori is Liu Bei's angry voice again. >_> Also, I miss David Rizt as Kotaro...

SW2 had the best dub - no doubt - since it is the only time Koei hired an actual voice production team that knew how to do their job and took pride in doing it well: Motochika in SW2XL sounded beyond sexy, Toshiie's English VA nailed emotions in the CG cutscenes and Katsuie received a third more fitting sounding VA because the team that did SW2 was that professional. Sad thing is some fans actually prefer rush job quality voices like these. I fear for SW4.

SW3 did actually put in some efforts by hiring well-known voice actors, but I see that newer actors perform better than those with fame already like in SW2, and since this game is a bit rushed so ye. What I think is that Koei should have kept the actors that performed well (like Nobunaga) in SW2 instead of replacing them, maybe replace those that aren't that good? Plus they only have to pay for a small amount of money so it's a win win for both fans and developers.
The voices sound good to me... but it's bit hard to believe that Sanada Yukimura, in both Samurai Warriors 3 and Sengoku Basara 3/Samurai Heroes, is voiced by the same actor, Johnny Yong Bosch.
Did Koei and Capcom got the same studio by any chance ?

@Evangalex Yeah! I think you're right, Hanzo's voice is the same who did Illidan in warcraft 3 (not WoW).
He did a great job!
So I almost cried when I heard Nagamasa's voice but most of the other one's seem okay. I like Bosch as Sanada, though I'm prolly the only person I know who never get's tired of his voice. Fuma's is cool I think it's the same one from SW2? Nobunaga's is great Date is fine. For the most part I'm liking everyone's voices better than SW2 and and 1. Except for Nene and Ishida, they remind me of robots!

Really? Nobunaga's voice seems different. His voice in Samurai Warriors 1 is, colder.. it's much better to me compared to the latest one.
It happens that Oda Nobunaga’s Samurai Warriors 1 VA is the same dude who voiced Cao Cao in the Dynasty Warriors games
Yoshimoto's voice is so cute! Magoichi sounds sorta drunk. Masanori...he sounds even more drunk than Magoichi. Motochika is a sexy rebel! XD
@Scorptile3122: I've barely played any of both WO1 & 2, but that still doesn't change the fact that he's too overused. Also, I was referring to his SW2 voice actor, which is much better.

@Osoz3 Yeah, his old VA also did the voice for DW4 Lu Bu and it sounded EXACTLY like Masanori's.
And no, nothings particularly wrong with the voice. I just expected something more...I dunno, deeper for him. Same with Kanbei.

@Osoz3 it's pretty easy to tell. I'm a big fan of his and usually when I hear someone I like, I can recognize them right away.

The difference is that Koei tries to go for a more historically accurate approach, while Capcom just takes the basics and does whatever the hell it feels like to the story. I'm actually partial to many of Koei's interpretations more than Capcom's, as their characters are more three-dimentional and believable.

Exactly. Well, you're thinking his voice sound horrible right now, but when you eventually play him while hearing him talking, it gets better. But you don't have to like his voice automatically, you have your own opinions to make after playing him. I got the game already and played Nagamasa, and I think his voice sounds fine in my opinion. All the characters voice in the game sounds fine, well, maybe few of them aren't, anyway. Not all anime and video games have bad dubs. :)
@001sk100 yeah, I never understood why in most hack n slashes, they don't allow Japanese voice acting.
@jennnnnnn13 Nene's voice actress sounds like a teenager, I know her concept was to be a mother and her look was supposed to be fresh but her old voice actress had that kind of voice that would make a "mother-like" figure seem refreshing.

glad to see they kept a large number of voices from the warriors Orochi games, since they trumped everything from SW1 and 2. I'm torn down the middle with the voices that differ from the WO games.
on a side note I feel really bad right now cause up until i saw this vid I honestly thought Hanbei was a girl.

@SabriSonne Mori is also a man here. I suggest you're misstaking Ranmaru Mori with Motonari Mori. Motonari Mori here is the dude with the crossbow attached to his right arm, in Basara, he's the green dude with the circle blade who praises the sun. The Ranmaru Mori here was better known as Hornet in Devil Kings which is the butchered version from Sengoku Basara 1.
And Saika in Basara is based of the legend that the woman of the third Magoichi took control after the death of her husband.
Speaking of Sengoku Basara, Johnny Yong Bosch isn't the only VA to reprise his Sengoku Basara role in Samurai Warriors. Vic Mignogna, Akechi Mitsuhide's VA in Sengoku Basara, reprises his role as Mitsuhide albeit without the homicidal tendencies

my opinion: ah! look at Oichi! and Kunoichi's back! ^_^ ... what..? Nouhime got her story taken away? ohh... whoa! Nagamasa's new voice is.... ahem... interesting.... Yoshihiro sounds intimidating... Interesting! I think I liked the Samurai Warriors 1 voices except for the new/ aged (Oichi, Masamune) people.
Who else thinks that Okuni's and Oichi's voice sound wierd?

@Scorptile3122: Constantly hearing his voice makes the characters he plays watered down and less unique. Still, I'm not saying he's a bad voice actor; he's pretty good.

the only bad voices are Okuni 0:29, Hanzo 0:54, Hideyoshi 1:03, and Nagamasa 1:29. Hanbei too at 2:36 cuz it really doesn't fit his look.
the "not SW2 voices but still OK" voices are Mitsuhide 0:15, Mitsunari 1:26, Kanetsugu 1:48, and Nene 1:50. everyone else FINE! thats what, 9 people out of like 42? ._.
maybe i'm more tolerant when it comes to voices but you might grow to them as you play SW3, they're not that bad. dont judge their voice just on 1 lil quote...

Masanori’s Japanese VA made Masanori sound like a drunk and annoying Yakuza underling and Jurota Kusogi made Nobunaga sound like a Shakespeare-loving dark overlord
Masanori sounds nothing like Lu Bu, because unsurprisingly, they don't share the same voice actor. And so what if they use some of the same voice actors from DW? Would they not use a voice that fits because they already used it? And even IF that was the case, would you really want them to hire an entirely new cast of voice actors for this game? Dubbing is expensive.

These English voices are so hit and miss. It's horrible. This game made me switch to Japanese versions only. Those voices actually fit the character looks.
