You don't NEED to use Ableton or any DAW they added it for live use integration. This is an awesome piece of gear. Hands down it will be my first hardware synth!
Love to see this futuristic revival of the electribe series. I'm a huge fan of the emx1 and hope this new piece can throw down just as hard as its older brother.
Mann damn I just ordered an akai mpx 16 . After returning an esx1 sd With bad knob jitters I bought on eBay . You guys are killing me here . Now I have to work more overtime to buy this new thing. BUT THANKS IT ABOUT TIME
Olivander12 it's on the official Korg Website on the right side in the white frame: www.korg.de/produkte/producing-tools/electribesampler-produktinfo/electribesampler-produktinfo-1.html
Awesome!!!! I was wondering if Korg was not going to make any other electribes and at last they're announcing this! I love my emx-1 sd and I'm buyin' this one!!!
If anyone has used the "beat flutter" on the iPad iElectribe I have a feeling we are going to get that kind of functionality with the XY pad on the new electribes. This is going to be AWESOME!!!
Pretty pleased with this, being a hardcore user of the EMX, the only thing I would have liked is that it had MIDI Thru, but it's minor. I hope they have improved the "song " mode, or maybe it doesn't have one since it's integrated with Ableton, which solves the tedious problem that comes from using hardware, how to perform and record all tracks separatedly on the computer. That's great!
SO excited about this. Just heard today! Question: I use all my Electribes as stand alone devices. The "song mode" feature has been integral to the process. Now that Ableton is in the picture, does this mean that "song mode" is a thing of the past and not included on these newer models?
Can Korg make an Electribe Analog? Use the Volca oscs and MS20 filter. Please please. I'm already gonna get the Electribe Sampler but an analog one would be epic
if you mod the beats, which I have ( the 2nd day I owned it) you can run midi out to what ever drum machine you want... so in reality endless palette of sounds actually ;)
why are people getting upset over not having tubes? only 1 era of electribes had them, most didn't and were great. if you're that desperate then get a distortion pedal.
Keep up the software compatible with a wide range of OS:s and also maintain it for a lot of years. The credible and successfull ones in the software plugin industry all did that. If you don't, you'll be goners sooner than you think. And as soon as you touch this iPhone integration game with your product you are in the circus.
I started to hate Electribe because the damn 16 steps with an single swing mode. Well I guess i have to try this one as standalone and with ableton. Looks interesting. And i can take it into my backpack.
What they don't tell you about is the latency between live 9 and the electribe. Google "midi latency in ableton" and you will find quite a few people struggling to time the two.
I know the most important thing is the sound and features, when all said & done.... but I have to say that this offering has no visual flare at all. Compared to earlier versions, it looks like something you would use in an office with that ugly FL STUDIO grey color!
"Polyphonie maximale : 24 voix" ....... enfin .... après 11 ans vous avez enfin compris. Il manque encore les modulateurs puissant et quelques autres truc ;)
Looks way cheaper and boring than the previous generations and only 2 audio outs is disappointing :( The sound creation specs are a Big improvement :) Let's hope all the instant gratification and intuitive work-arounds for limitations are kept intact.
looks very nice...but the truth is that it is not what use to be...it is not the same machine....no metal, no tubes, no keys...the new one has pads..but is not the same...sorry but I prefer the old one..
It would been dope if it had the same tubes as kingKorg. But with a powerful synth engine, this thing is on another planet than previous tribes. The ananlog filters will add that warmth you need,
what are you babbeling about? it will surely be standalone, who said it doesn't? and the tubes...seriously? these were nothing but cheap fancy eye candy sounding super bad and being noisy as fuck. oh please...
Ableton can be used for importing loops, like thousands of people did with all other electribe before. Ableton is not needed, nor this is produce any sound. It is just for people who like to work things out on their pc.
you don't need ableton for it, but you should be using ableton anyway. save the money or pirate it 'til you start making enough money to be able to buy it.
It's not that I'm anti Ableton. I've just been using Cubase since 05'...furthermore I'm finding it frustrating to me that every module, controller, and new hardware being relaeased are teaming with Ableton for integration. It's not Abletons fault, it's brands like Novation/Focustite, M-Audio, Nektar and now Korg. I also have Stuio One, not sure why I would buy and learn another DAW just to use a piece of hardware. Korg will say "it's compatible with all major DAW's" but when your only using the hardware at 60% of it's capacity because of bugs, no thanks.
yeah, ok, i know what you mean. i would also not be too excited about having to get into cubase now after about 10 years of getting used to ableton especially just for one piece of gear. but hey, if it wasnt for ableton integration there would probably be no integration at all. and if it's built like the tr-8 you won't miss out that much by not using live. i mean you still can record it's audio out with cubase, just not multitracked. and you probably will still be able to use midi cc and pc messages for sequencing automation and pattern changes in cubase.
Korg is looking after the preppers. When the apocalypse hits, only people alive, with Korg gear and packs of AAs will be bangin beats.

I love the little 90s house jam they have at the start
I had the old blue Electribe & I sold it...damn, I wish I still had that!!!
Mann damn I just ordered an akai mpx 16 . After returning an esx1 sd With bad knob jitters I bought on eBay . You guys are killing me here . Now I have to work more overtime to buy this new thing. BUT THANKS IT ABOUT TIME
NEW ELECTRIBE SERIES! AMAZING!
especially the sampler looks pretty good,
too bad that there is no metal housing anymore
Is made of metal.
damn you are right! it s not plastic its metal!
great, price is 475 euro in europe.
VolcaRock Where did you get that price? I am justing asking because there are several shops and non of them got the same price as the other.
Olivander12 it's on the official Korg Website on the right side in the white frame: www.korg.de/produkte/producing-tools/electribesampler-produktinfo/electribesampler-produktinfo-1.html
VolcaRock
danke!
korg...... I love you......from my DW-8000 to my Electribe ER1...... and now this...... yes please. Now make a FM synth.......
Awesome!!!! I was wondering if Korg was not going to make any other electribes and at last they're announcing this! I love my emx-1 sd and I'm buyin' this one!!!
I love Korg .I buy this maschine.:)

Yes. That midi through was a godsend.
***** yes i know
***** dont sell your EMX!!
***** Keep it. They'll never make anything like it again.
***** hahahahah
Take my money now!!!
back to the oldschool synth please!
Please show the sampler soon! I cannot hold my breath much longer!!!
New electribe
I NEED to hear the price and release date NOW! I am so excited, that I fear I might not survive very long wait.
SO excited about this. Just heard today! Question: I use all my Electribes as stand alone devices. The "song mode" feature has been integral to the process. Now that Ableton is in the picture, does this mean that "song mode" is a thing of the past and not included on these newer models?
Not at all! In-fact, it has a new and IMPROVED stand-alone song mode! :)
YESSSSS!!!
how will the sequencing be? can we chain patterns?
Can Korg make an Electribe Analog? Use the Volca oscs and MS20 filter. Please please. I'm already gonna get the Electribe Sampler but an analog one would be epic
I hope they make an analog Electribe as well. I mean the Volcas are nice but as far as sequencing goes they're pretty limited...
That would be the MonoTribe
Jeff Watkins
not really though, the Monotribe is nice but still pretty limited
Possible release date in March 2015?????
can you load samples into it ? that seemed pretty unclear
does it work with fl studio ?
sell me an ESX... haven't even got my first Korg and now this, if anyone doesn't want their old red one i'll have it, UK
So can you play this without able tom or does it need to be plugged in?
+Alex Phillips it does not need abelton but you can export to it very nicely
I hope the drum sounds better than Volca Beats's one...
Anyway.... this is a really cool news.
I think so too.
if you mod the beats, which I have ( the 2nd day I owned it) you can run midi out to what ever drum machine you want... so in reality endless palette of sounds actually ;)
don t get too excited....you might get very desapointed...few video on youtube made me cancelled my preorder...I smell a rat
elek snow
why?
PanzerLyu
because the 3 vid available sounds terribly bad as fuck
Can it record samples??!
No but there is a new electribe sampler also coming!
Does anybody have information on a "song mode"?
7 years later and still no firmware updates. Korg basically dropped support for this thing the day it came out.
why are people getting upset over not having tubes? only 1 era of electribes had them, most didn't and were great. if you're that desperate then get a distortion pedal.
this ^ +1
What is her nem

Too bad it doesn't have the other 2 individual outputs. My EMX-1 has them...
I know the most important thing is the sound and features, when all said & done.... but I have to say that this offering has no visual flare at all. Compared to earlier versions, it looks like something you would use in an office with that ugly FL STUDIO grey color!
cheåp ån∂ plås†ic i løve i†!!
actually the top is made of aluminium
"Polyphonie maximale : 24 voix" ....... enfin .... après 11 ans vous avez enfin compris. Il manque encore les modulateurs puissant et quelques autres truc ;)
Very informative..... $399 for some flashing LEDs!!
guys electribe
MUSIC PRODUCTION STATION work with logic ?
Looks way cheaper and boring than the previous generations and only 2 audio outs is disappointing :(
The sound creation specs are a Big improvement :)
Let's hope all the instant gratification and intuitive work-arounds for limitations are kept intact.
sounds plastic, just a bigger volca?
looks very nice...but the truth is that it is not what use to be...it is not the same machine....no metal, no tubes, no keys...the new one has pads..but is not the same...sorry but I prefer the old one..
Electribe that can't work stand alone and with no tubes? Thank you but no thank you
It does work stand-alone. Built in synth engine derived from the kingKORG. That demo track would be made using the on-board sounds only :)
Ben Huisman video is not that informative tho. thanks
It would been dope if it had the same tubes as kingKorg. But with a powerful synth engine, this thing is on another planet than previous tribes. The ananlog filters will add that warmth you need,

Not if you change them to quality tubes =)
I'ma have to make out with one at geetar center or something. I do not like this so far though. No tubes = no love in the sound...IMO.
Just put a tube preamp infront of it.
Original mx and sx are still better
Ableton huh...well, guess I won't be purchasing one.

lol... gotta love hardcore anti ableton guys like you man. "if it CAN work with live, i don't want it."
makes no sense at all. :D :D :D

Pathetic Korg: only 250 patterns...REALLY? I have iPad grooveboxes with a LOT more than that, like 800 or 900 to choose from. Come on now!
Probably all of them suck.
Korg demos and builtin presets are always sucks
I just cancelled my pre-order since I heard those poor demo on youtube....seems to be like a big kaossilator pad maxi
