As she bursts onto the music scene with her debut single ""Whip My Hair,"" young Willow Smith, daughter of Will & Jada Smith, joined Ryan Seacrest on his radio show to discuss her plans for her budding music career. Just before the interview it was officially announced that Jay-Z had signed Willow to his record label, and called in to talk about his plans for her.

She's actually really clever for a 9 year old girl
When they compared her to MJ I don't believe they meant by style and definately not by personality but there's something genuine about her. An innocence. Not because she's a child but something that makes her very different and special. I love MJ and she's not MJ but she's a star.

He was saying that he imagines that her personality, the way she knows just who she is and what she wants out of life is how he imagines Michael was when he was young, He was not comparing their talents or songs. Besides, once you get past the mind-numbing but catchy "I whip my hair back and forth" part that makes up the chorus, you'll find that the song actually does have lyrics.

@poplockjock92 I think the comparison is not made in terms of similarity in style as you thought, it's on the greatness of talent and potential. Chris Brown is close to MJ in style with his sound and moves, whereas Willow is close to MJ with her stunning talent at such an early age and enormous potential to be a big star. Unlike Chris Brown her sound is different from MJ but you must admit, the excitement and hope around her is a lot like him and I hope having Jay Z and Will keep her grounded.

I agree, minus the pray part since I'm atheist. She seems like she will go far in a short time and with her parents being stars they know how many temptations are out there in the industry and I just hope they taught their kids to avoid them and continue being themselves.
