You know what's also a corporation? Half as Interesting. And we don't care about you™.
That's why we exploit our viewers by having them suggest video topics to us, instead of just doing it ourselves. We'd rather spend time in our money jacuzzi instead. If we use the topic a viewer suggests, all we do is send them a free HAI t-shirt. Great deal! If you're interested in providing us with free labor, suggest an HAI topic here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfUdlvw6YgU44J8AnM2U_ZvRMyvh_CUM51LYSqF5nYJB9d1-w/viewform?usp=sf_link
Also in the vein of a corporation that only cares about money (and not about you, or anyone else), turns out another UA-camr made a video about this, like, a week ago. That video wasn't the inspiration for this, and I'd never watched it, but I'm guessing that it was the inspiration for the viewer who suggested this topic. We did do, as now always do, a quick search through to see that no channels with high-audience overlap have done a similar video recently, and saw this video, but I, in my infinite wisdom, completely missed that the other video was uploaded very recently, assumed it was a much older one, and I hadn't heard of the channel, so I figured it wouldn't be repetitive for our audience or cannibalistic for the other creator. If you want to see that other video, which goes into a little more detail, here it is: ua-cam.com/video/Xq8H0GHU8AQ/v-deo.html

If you want to sue a company or organization, it is treated as a "legal person." Therefore, if Australia is legally a corporation, then Australia is legally a person.
Not be confused with a "natural person," which is legalese for an actual person as distinguished from a corporate person.
corporation is "group of people", not "person"
@@davidtiberio Courts have upheld the doctrine of corporate personhood as it pertains to certain rights.
@@godowskygodowsky1155 if the corporation is owned solely by 1 person than that would be accurate. corporations are groups of people.
We are all legal fictions dealing in commerce. Governmemts are just a more wealthier person than you or mine, but the process I'm pretty sure is the same. Going after bigger companies etc like say Woolworths, Walmart or Target (Targé lol), would essentially be the same as going after an individual. This brings in so many issues ranging from taxation, borders, corporate law, and corporate statehood. Theoretically this would mean that Australia is the largest corporation in the United States but it also means if the country were to ever file bankruptcy; the United States could legally annex Australia by seizing its assets and holdings as to pay off debt. But on the other hand, this brings greater questions of international laws. As Australia has been its own state prior to incorporating. This seems like a messy decision that could go either way depending on the future.
The whole of Australia isn't a company.

It's odd that prior to 2008, Australia had no federal deposit insurance at all. Most large countries have had it since the 70s or 80s.
"Lesson 1 of history: don't be like the Weimar Republic" 😂😂😂
Lesson 2: Don't be the Third Reich.
Lesson 3: Weimar Republic is not a country 😉
@@peterg.8941 Why not? It's the retrospective name of a country that was called German Reich at the time.
@@androlsaibot the name of the country was from 1871 until 1943: German Empire. Weimar Republic is the name of a period of time (1918 - 1933). It doesn't make sense to call a country after a period of time, even the people that lived in that time didn't do this.
"Weimar Republic" can stand for "time of the Weimar Republic", but it doesn't have to. A republic is maybe something different than a country, but republic does not mean time, and there are enough countries whose names are "X Republic".
By the way, I didn't know, but according to Wikipedia, the term "German Empire" stands for the Deutsches Kaiserreich (1871-1818), while "German Reich" stands for the whole period from 1871 to 1945.
But when talking about a specific year, say 1900, it just doesn't matter what we call the country, Reich or Empire, it's just the same country.
The people at the time didn't use the name Weimarer Republik at all, and they didn't use it for the time in which they were living. A similar thing could be "Vichy France", that's also a retrospective name.
4:33 That was really smooth. Kudos.
