I believe this song was played in a drama LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY!
Tips:The piece of music you hear is played by an antique. It was made in the Song Dynasty of China (about a thousand years ago) and was collected by many emperors. This Guqin has its own name: 仙籁, which means the wonderful sound of the fairy palace.
I think 仙籁 is best translated as "godly melody", "godly tune", or "sound of the enlightened immortals", as the name does not mention a "palace" whatsoever.
I didn't think she was that old! As for the Guqin, what a wonderful name, fairy and all.
In 1977, a recording of "Liu Shui" (流水; Stream), as performed by Guan, was chosen to be included in the Voyager Golden Record, a gold-plated LP recording containing music from around the world, which was sent into outer space by NASA on the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecraft. It is the longest excerpt included on the disc (lasting seven minutes and 37 seconds) and the only excerpt of Chinese music.
