Well it wasn't a failure, the car couldn't fit. The mistake has been in the car/ending choice, so I think you actually won the manhunt cause you reached the destination and took the ramp at the right angle to jump without them being able to stop you.
I'd call this one a win. If your car would have fit up the ramp, you would have made it. The fact that you hit it at the right angle with the right speed should count.
